Ok, please forgive me, I know I'm old but!

You are probably right Cliff. I am for campaign financing changes though. With out limitations for funding a candidate can buy his way into office i.e. Trump. The way you put it is another spin on it. Please don't lose any sleep over all this Bull that is going on, nothing much changes party to party from Municipal to Federal, does it? Or you can run for office, I've said it before, many times, you have my vote. And 70 isn't old, my Dad is 89 and he doesn't say he's old, never. -
Ontario to spend $7-billion on sweeping climate change plan

G. Mech. The number of days, velocity and duration of wind is rated from 0 to 5 if I remember from a seminar years ago. The 2 highest wind ratings in Ontario is the north shore of Erie, Haldimand county being the windiest and the Bruce peninsula. It is far less windy on Lake O. They had set up testing stations along here more than 10 years ago. I see red lights flashing all along the NY side of the lake now too. -
You need to see a lawyer to clear up what actions you can take tomorrow, it will be worth what ever they want to help clear up the "what ifs". There are many good lawyers giving a first free consult. I recently got a free consultation from a Labour Lawyer at no charge over the phone. You don't need to sit in an office to talk to someone. Have your family lawyers office give you a contact, they do that all the time. The legal advise you may get here, including mine, is worth what you pay for it. Get some sleep. Get some for me too.

You can't recover for damages until you have any. That I know. If you feel that you want the person responsible for the error to be disciplined go to Management. I would keep that letter in a very safe place. I would also pen a letter to the company indicating you received that letter and basically they are on notice for any damages that may occur in the future.Don't send it to HR, it may or should I say probably deep 6 it. Someone could lose their jobs. I would consider that egregious conduct.

Ontario to spend $7-billion on sweeping climate change plan

A small farm here is 60 acres, 100 acres is the norm. One gentleman has been buying up all the farms available, he has thousands of acres now. Remodels the farm houses, sells them off, leases the land for other farmers to work and reaps in the leases on the Wind Turbines. Dara, that is simply not true. The early leases that were being offered were non transferable, no one I know bought into that and the smart farmers held off as the early leases offered are nowhere close to the prices they are getting now for leases. All the prime lakeshore land is all spoken for as far as turbines go. That is until the Gov. changes the setback minimums. I live very close to 3 of them, they don't bother me or anyone else I know here. And housing prices are going up not down as predicted. A neighbour had what they call flicker on his home, shadows at certain times of the day. Nextel rep. went to his place and installed top of the line blinds on all windows, and central air because he couldn't open the windows and get the breeze they had. They did renege on the balance of the "community" fund where a few million was to be used as the county wanted to enhance the community, that is Bull. The money the county did get was wasted by them of course. -
8 games, what a joke.

Farmers out here in Haldimand are standing in line to lease their land to the Wind Farm and Solar Farm conglomerates. Pretty easy farming cashing the check every month for leasing their land. I was told one farmer here is pulling in $5500.00 a month for land leases. -
2 Boats sink on Erie recently, all are safe.
Old Ironmaker replied to Old Ironmaker's topic in General Discussion
I agree that they refused because of the cost. 8 stiches to my business partners noggin in Lauderdale Fla. in 2006 $7000.00, if he paid other than credit card they would settle for $5500.00. The other thing to mention re: travel insurance, most companies here that provide major medical benefits can cap out to a maximum. 1 bad week out of Ontario and you might go through a lifetime of medical benefits. When we had benefits upon retirement it was $80.000.00 lifetime. There was a payout for Air Ambulance to get you back to Ontario so Great West didn't have to pay it. I don't know about the union guys coverage. Also check about going out of province. They don't have OHIP in B.C. You may have to pay up front then fight OHIP to recover it many months later. I don't have the best health record lately and Blue Cross only costs me 25 bucks a week to go south. -
It can happen at any time. It's nice to hear about the co operation between Canada and the US Coast Guard during these rescues. I also wonder why the Canadians that were air lifte to Erie Pa. would refuse medical attention after being in 46F water for a few hours. I just can't get around the fact that 2 vessels would travel all the way to Erie from Trenton On. They would have to travel almost the entire length of Lake Ontario and then up the Welland Canal to get there. http://www.simcoereformer.ca/2016/05/16/rough-waters-sink-two-boats

Ontario to spend $7-billion on sweeping climate change plan

I don't have the background to argue yea or nay on the issue. Even scientists disagree. You know they can skew data to support their hypothesis. All I know is what I have seen.We created a micro climate at the plant years back. You didn't know if it was day or night, if the sky was clear or overcast. The city would be covered in smog, same looking across the lake at times at Toronto. Now multiply that by the thousands of manufacturing and highly populated urban cities across the globe. Is it enough to change the global environment? I believe it is. Could we see the polar ice caps years ago from outer space, nope. But we can now but there is not much to compare it to in the last 10,000 years. I believe what I experience. -
TSC stores are liquidating all fishing merchandise

Speaking of work boots man what a shock I got when I saw the prices. $200.00 for a good pair, they aren't all created equal. How do you guys that have to buy boots do it? If at todays prices I would have gone through $20,000.00 of boots in my life. -

Maybe President Trump can build a wall that will ensure global manufacturers emissions can't harm us here in a greener North America. I once asked a representative of the Chinese steel industry at a global conference on Steel Making "How many Blast Furnaces are there in China?" He said he didn't know as most rural villages produce their own iron and steel. I wonder how many of those places have emission controls in place? We have made a mess of our environment and don't want to leave that as a legacy for future mankind. We broke it we need to start to fix it. But as long as it doesn't cost us our 4X4's to tow a pleasure craft or any money. I agree though that as long as I see her name on it most assuredly there will be a crap load of wasted Loonies. So what is the answer? All they have to do is make the cost of living with electricity less than living with fossil fuels. That's economics 101. It's easy to complain and not offer a solution. -

Divers help to clean up Nipissing

That article reads strangely. One quote, "They have also salvaged propellers from the water and returned them to their owners." I didn't know I could have mine returned if I lost it. They must have War Amp tags on them or attached to a boat. -
Ticks were bad here last spring on the north shore of Erie. My wife found one on her abdomen and it was removed just as catpierre suggests. We put it in a pill bottle and it and she went to the Doc's. It hadn't buried itself yet and she is fine. Be careful.

"That was one well executed right cross by the Latino fighter. It didn't get the left hander on the button as it hardly wobbled his opponents legs." That quote could have been made on any Friday night of "HBO Boxing". 20 game suspension for Odor and 5 to 10 for others that decided to get involved other than to separate guys, more for Pilar, he went in with clenched fists.
-
Yes of course.

A guy on another forum found quite a few Ticks on his pants after a day of Trout fishing. A good report below by the CBC. David Suzuki is the talking head though. I'm sure he didn't contribute anything to the report. He's more reporter than Scientist. http://www.cbc.ca/natureofthings/episodes/ticked-off-the-mystery-of-lyme-disease

Those big fat ones had to be packed full of eggs. I would let them go, just my opinion only.

The Mad Men are flipping out because it's a TO/Cleveland series and not Miami. Ratings are going to take a dive. Too bad, so sad.

Thanks for the great info, all I need now is a new Hood Ornament with anchor lock. Not in this years budget. I let 100 feet of rope out and pull it in to move, hopefully in the right direction. I never set up inside the Wolf pack.

Something that comes in packages of 24 might be a payback idea. -
Wind isn't really going to effect fishing from shore which I believe is what you do. In fact it may help if you are on the shore facing the wind. It sure isn't comfortable though. If you really want Sheepshead (fresh water Drum aka farm animals here) pretend you are fishing for Walleye. There are people here that swear they make a great fish chowder. Also poor mans Lobster. A billion Asians can't all be wrong. There is a Pro tour south that target Saltwater Drum otherwise known as Red Fish.
