What would you do if you won the lottery? Maybe NF

No I'm being serious for once. All clear but for some scaring from the original tumour. For anyone that has never has a cystoscopy picture this. Take a dull fillet knife and insert it into the urethra, then give it a good jab into the Bladder, then twist 360 degrees for 5 minutes. Then piss razor blades for a few days. Quit smoking now, That's the smart thing to do with coin. Those kids have a leg up with you guiding them. We had a place south of Pembroke on the Ottawa Westmeath, actually north looking on a map, a special place in this world let alone Canada. -
The problem we came across Blaque is that the gear puller for the gimble bearing which had to be done to do the bellows for the Merc was big bucks. It may not have been necessary to change the bearing but it was changed regardless because it was due for preventative mtc, if the bellows are done for the bearing is due as well. Some how our mechanical Guru came up with a home made version of the 200 buck puller using home made shims and elastic bands believe it or not. Go to iboats.com and join the forum. That question will be answered forthwith. A great resource even though I get mod q'd with regularity. A very politically correct site.

I like that, thinking outside the box Brian.

Does anyone old enough from Hamilton remember when the Beach Strip on Lake Ontario would have a foot deep of dead rotting Smelt on it every year? You could start to smell them when you got to the end of Woodward Ave. When I was a youngster we would go to the pier and dip net as many Smelt as the station wagon could hold. Then the Salmon were introduced into the Lake and the Smelt disappeared. Find the bait, find the fish. A bait farm? Thinking outside the box, I like that.

The main reason I posted this is that I won the Lottery yesterday. 4 1/2 year check up for Bladder Cancer. I won. Piss in razor blades today, but who cares, not I, Bull it hurts. I was planning on going out on the lake Friday and it seems I can not find my bag of electronics. My Garmin sonar, Hummigbird combo and stereo face plate and was freaking out. Big flippin' deal. On the plus side maybe I can up grade to a bigger screen!!!! -
I had a young waitress that worked for me years ago win 35 million on Lotto Max a few years back. She was a wonderful person and she was on disability when she won in Hamilton due to her bad knees from slinging Beer for years. I always wondered what I would do with all that money. After taking care of family and friends `I guess I would go fishing with Moosebunk or many here if they would have me along. Heck with that much coin I could have a building or Hospital ward with my name on it, Old Ironmaker's Physiological Wing for Old Steelworkers. I'd make Spiel CEO and M2B2 head chef. What would you do with all those many millions if it came along?

I remember a time that there wasn't bumper to bumper traffic around Barrie. When it was "Up North". I couldn't drive there everyday now. It is really a suburb of T.O. now. When I go to Hamilton now I always say there is more cars on this corner and gridlock than all the cars in Haldimand County. I spent most of my adult life downtown Hammertown. I just cleaned the floors at our place and there were bird feathers on the floor. I never found bird feathers even on the 37th floor of my place in Century 21 in Hamilton. Bird feathers, look at what your cat dragged in my dear one.

Fantastic as expected from all of us living vicariously through your exploits. In other words I'm jealous Johnny,,,,, again. -
Proctors definitely, a Merc dealer. Don Hyde Marine in Hagersuigan won't touch them with a 10 foot pole. They are a Yamaha and Evinrude dealer now. They sell StarCraft tinnies and G3's as well as there big cruiser lineup. I was there today window shopping.

You a bird whisperer Brian? I saw an Eagle dive bomb a Merganzzer on the lake last month. Over and over again then fly away. The bird was definitely injured and the waves brought it to shore and it died. Why it did it was the question. There was another Eagle, maybe a juvenile, and it was giving it a lesson is all I can surmise. -
I would guess there are many here that never heard of him. His music never got me but he sure was a hit to many here as well as abroad. My condolences to his family and fans.

I know my 15 horse is all Yammy block, cylinders etc. I'm not sure about the 115. I do know that a dealer out here won't work on the 115 because they don't carry Mercury tools. Not that I have ever needed anything on these motors but regular maintenance.

Come on Joey, windy? that's just a nice Walleye chop here on Erie.

I was on top of "D" Blast Furnace about 20 years ago and it was hit by lightning, more than once. It smelt like the biggest electric Train set in the world. Since it is a giant lighting rod no injuries were incurred. I'll never forget it.

Ah Rodbender, Fergit aboud it. I'm drooling. That suckling Pig of Speils has a cheek with my name on it. I sure most have had it here but if you haven't the cheek on a pig is the most tender piece of Pork you have ever had, bar none. Extra large Ontario Pasta Ravioli tonight with the Veal and Pork ribs pasta sauce I made today until the bones fell off. She better get home soon or all the meat will be gone. Don't forget the "scarpetti" translation "little shoe" to sop up the sauce off the plate at the end. Toasting some Chibatta or any good bread, no Dempsters etc, take a piece of Garlic and rub it on the toasted bread, drizzle some EVO and voila, real deal garlic bread. A sprinkle of Oregano too as well as some grated Parm and you have Bruschetta. Bruschetta in Italian simply means toast. Now what salad shall I invent tonight. I have an heirloom tomato.

I just hooked up another new Q yesterday, at $160.00 for 75K BTU I couldn't pass up that deal. I went to our local butchers on HWY 3 in Cayuga, Hansen's Meats west of the river on the north side past Kohler Rd. and bought 2 Henderson Burgers, 22 ounce T Bones each. One I did with just Montreal Steak Spice and Worcestershire and 1 Steak Florentine style, simple dash of sea salt, cracked black pepper and EVO, when done slice the steak up and put it back together then a bit more sea salt and EVO. Simple, as simple as possible when I do a good steak. They fed all 4 of us with left overs for plenty of steak hash this AM, and more leftovers. You can't Christen a new BBQ with wieners. My wife said now keep it that clean. No way, that black stuff on a BBQ is taste enhancement. If anyone is out in this area you have to try anything from Hansens. It is all local grown Beef, Pork and Chicken, Rabbit too sometimes. The difference in taste than the super markets is worth the slight price difference. All meat can be cut to suit. Great sausages too. There Larry do I get a discount?

You can't fix stupid catpierre. It's a DNA thing. Poor DNA is handed down the gene pool, it's not their fault. However if someone has a semblance of intelligence and they do stupid things, we all have at sometimes, that my friend is ignorance.

I would have said he was the greatest pugilist of all time until I saw this Mike Tyson kid but that was before Tyson let his life spiral out of control. If you take everything, his entire body of work into consideration he was by far a better fighter than Tyson and Rocky Marciano put together. He was the only Boxer that could fight and the only fighter that could box. He nearly lost his life during "The Rumble in the Jungle" against Foreman, the rope a dope was sheer genius and no one including Angelo Dundee knew that he was planning on doing that. That argument will go on forever as to who was the best fighter of all time, he may have been the best athlete of all time. Does anyone remember the fight between Ali and Marciano? It was a 15 round slobber knocker that Rocky won on points if I remember right. Come on Rick, no Googling allowed. How about the Wrestling match in Tokyo? He could promote a Quilting Bee and make it a pay per view hit. I am happy to have been old enough to enjoy him in his prime. I still kick myself for not seeing the Chuvallo fight at Maple Leaf Gardens. Stupido.

Asian Carp caught in St. Lawrence river in Quebec/Not good
Old Ironmaker replied to muskymatt's topic in General Discussion
This isn't the show I watched last night but it's an interesting read. Let's eat them. Imagine how many hungry these things could feed? edit: The Nature of Things, not the 5th Estate was the program. I am not able to find it though. http://www.the5thestate.asia/2011/09/illinois-launches-asian-carp-anti.html -
Asian Carp caught in St. Lawrence river in Quebec/Not good
Old Ironmaker replied to muskymatt's topic in General Discussion
No text showed on the link, my French isn't that good anyway. Just last night there was a show about the Asian Carp invasion on The 5th Estate with Suzuki narrating. There are Asian Carp in the Grand River but they are not spawners, they were used to filter algae from farm ponds in the US. I am surprised if the Carp found to the east of the Great Lakes would be able to spawn. Ground Zero for the invasion is Chicago Illinois according to the report. Tribs from the Illinois and Mississippi Rivers hold what is estimated to be in the billions. Some 10,000 fish per mile in areas, or is it 10 tons per mile. It is a serious situation should the spawners get into Lake Michigan. They say within 20 years they will have migrated as far north as the Yukon and Alaska and across Canada from the Pacific to Atlantic. There is much work being done by both our as well as US agencies. It isn't if they will get in it is when. They are developing ways to stop them from spawning from underwater air canons to chemical pills to kill the eggs and also disrupt their spawning. This is serious. -
I hear you Rizzo, work and life can sure cut into fishing time. There was a time before all this information highway when we would head out sometimes a 6 hour or more return drive for the day and pray the water was fishable when we got there. Like Hamilton to Quinte and back or Hamilton to Port Severn just for the day. Sometimes is wasn't safe but it never stopped us dough heads.
