That's not even a house, it's a home. Lease a Chopper to deliver the roof or hire the Brown family to haul it.

The menacing elephant in the room - Donald Trump?

I respect your opinion Greg but come on man. Like saying I need a change in my life so I think I'll start smoking crack and see what happens. -
Only Olympic hype on the networks that are carrying it, no one cares, not here in Canada anyway. It's now a corporate bi annual event. I watched the opening ceremony for 2 total minutes, how exiting watching athletes walk and wave. What was with those carts with the pretty girls on them? I will watch the 100 meter final, and that is it.

Protective clothing to use vinegar? Come on man. Any qualification here. My Mom is doing fairly well at 85 and I remember gallons of vinegar during canning season. You can still get Round Up if you have certification that you are a farmer. I still use salt and vinegar on the walkways and driveway. As far as making the ground unable to sustain life tell that to the weeds that grow back. There isn't any lawn in southern Ontario anyway, weeds may be the only green around. Eat them don't kill them.

I agree with Grimsby, I don't think he will be on their ballot in November for one reason or another, lets see. He is being touted as a security risk now, how much of a security risk will he be if elected. The Bildiburgs won't let it happen. -
If that happens where we live the north shore of Erie would look like the surface of the Moon. I really would like the W5 of this incident. The language I don't recognize, sounds Indian, Punjabi or south east Asian. Any facts? The guys camera work is wonky because every time debris flew he ducted. He is closer than the video shows.

Yea Big Cliff but it isn't fair, those Bass know you by name. When they see you on the dock it's like ringing the dinner bell, worms and minnies on the menu. To be serious for a change I would sit on the deck in the evening and watch the Smallies feed, chasing bait onto the shoreline, not this year. Number 1 we don't have a shoreline as the water is so high and the algae on shore is horrendous. Buddy sent down his temp probe last Monday and found 72F at 50 feet deep here on Erie, that is ridiculous. The screen on my boat is thick with clouds of baitfish, maybe it's algae we were starting to think. But no fouled lines so it has to be bait. Too much natural bait gives my man made stuff no chance.

I too thought teachers were over paid baby sitters and told them that. That was until I took a job teaching WHIMIS. They earn every penny they make. I've been around a bit and can tell you who is woefully underpaid and over worked. Ontario Nurses. Mom is in the General in Hamilton again and it is ridiculous watching these RN's and RNA's running ragged. I watched an experienced RN basically train a young MD just yesterday.

$100.00 for an Ambulance ride here in Haldimand and Hamilton I know that for certain. Many of us do not realize that OHIP is not accepted in other provinces, your not in Ontario anymore Toto. You most likely will be reimbursed by OHIP at OHIP prices and be on the hook for medical care above and beyond what OHIP pays in Ontario. It takes a while to get back that money as well. Paying a few bucks for a primary insurer is well worth the $$$. Many on a company pension have ceiling limits that are not topped up. A friend from Dofasco thought his coverage was unlimited until he had a heart attach in Mexico. He went through his entire lifetime coverage with 1 heart attach. Now he pays cash for scripts just like Fish Farmer, Speil and me. My average is about $300.00 a month for drugs and dental. Our bodies got beat to all hell sucking in graphite, CO, sulphur dioxide all designated substances to name a few, and all of this in 40C plus temps. Ranting again, sorry. Too hot for that. Even here on the Erie lakeshore the thermo says 32C. I have never seen anything above 30 in 20 years here.

Try a more environment friendly weed killer. Simple and cheaper too. A jug of white vinegar and add a cup of table salt. Use a chemical sprayer and weeds be gone in a day or 2.

This Olympic Games every 2 years is becoming a lost cause. I read that host city hopefuls are backing out at great numbers for future fiascos. It has become nothing more than All Star pros playing each other. The amateurs that deserve to be there are home watching on TV a bunch of millionaires that want to add a Gold medal to their trophy cases, sad. Then there are the thousands of Rio citizens that have been thrown out of their tin shacks onto the streets to use the land for this disgusting show. Just the millions of dollars spent on creating a championship golf course in Rio could have housed every homeless person in that city. Basically golf does not exist in Brazil, only 2 other courses in Rio and they are private. What will they use it for next month? If this were the last Olympic Games under the current format I will be quite happy. I think Rory McElroy has it right.

You are bang on Dave, this has to be the worse year fishing for me I can recall since I got the bug, here on Erie at least. I haven't even seen a perch this year. I usually have a 2 person possession limit in the freezer by now and a few meals around my waist. This is the first summer since I was a kid and had 2 a day practices that the heat is getting to me. I think the fish feel the same. I usually put a TV out on the deck and watch a night game, not this year, too muggy at 10PM.

20 years ago it was $32.00 a visit, then it dropped and the huge exodus of Dr's went south. They bill far beyond that to get to 300K a year. A friend of mine was a GP that retired this month, he hasn't paid for a vacation in the past 40 years, or lunch and parties for his staff as it's all covered by Pharma reps. He has taken us golfing in Mexico and I didn't need to spend a dime.

Brian and I talked earlier in the week about heading out on Erie in my boat to burn some old gas and maybe catch a Walleye. So I called him late afternoon. He answered the phone and said he was out in his boat up north fishing. He had caught 7 Walters in the last hour. As we are on the phone he says " I got another Johnny D". I told him to give me the play by play over the phone. " Holy Moly she's a big one, she's pulling line." Play her out I tell him as I know he was sitting under an umbrella in his yard sucking down a cold one. "No I'm serious I'm on Duke Lake camping and now I have a huge fish on!!!, I think I lost it." (yea right Brian) Oh my Lord, I have a 17 inch Pic on my harness cut to shreds with the guts hanging out!! I urged him to throw it back in but Wormdunker being the good civilian wouldn't think of it. I was really only kidding, Then when he caught his breath he told me he was going back to camp to eat his fish and catch more. I don't mind a guy not showing up as planned but to ditch me and go limit out I have a problem with. Not that I would ever sleep in the same tent as him ever. You better have a report with pics when you get back.

Good one. I heard a guy caught a fish yesterday, news at 11.

I use Blue Cross&Blue Shield. I have pre existing conditions and they gave me the best rate. I hope I never have the need to make a claim. They are all about the same as reported a few years back on W-5. The first step is to deny without even reading the claim. I trust not a single one of them unfortunately. There's the story of the BC couple that vacationed in Hawaii, he had a massive heart attach and the bill for his surgery was in the 100's of thousands. Some 10 years earlier he had chest pains but was not diagnosed with heart disease. His GP told him to take one 81mg of Aspirin daily as a precautionary measure as do I as well as others my age. The insurance carrier denied his claim stating he had a pre existing condition as his Dr. prescribed meds for him. I don't have a link but this is not a urban legend.

The menacing elephant in the room - Donald Trump?
Old Ironmaker replied to scuro2's topic in General Discussion
I just can't believe with over 300 million citizens in the US these 2 duffuses were picked amongst them all to become the next President. I may vote Libertarian. I have not registered for a US election but am told since I hold dual citizenship I am eligible to vote, I might look into it. I personally think I shouldn't have a right to vote since I no longer own property there and do not reside there at all now. I predict that the RNC with impeach or somehow replace Trump before the general election. The RNC needs to get him in line and that isn't going to happen as long as he can hear his own voice. I would be embarrassed to have him as the CEO of a company I worked for, he is not stable, not in the least. I just can not believe good, intelligent, stable people genuinely endorse that guy. It is reported this morning his foreign policy advisors can not get through to him that Nuclear Weapons are there "not" to ever be used. What are you thinking I ask those that endorse him? All they do is explain why Clinton is a disaster with passionate rhetoric, never with logic as to why Trump is best to hold office amongst millions of Americans. -

Most all pro Football players wear panty hose when it gets cold. -
You got me Lew. I thought you lost your old dog. Selling a boat you love hurts too. I am not able to justify keeping my 19 footer because I am not using it enough either in the past few years. It seems the winds are getting worse every year here on Erie and all my fishing buds have boats of their own. My wife has been out once in the last 2 years with me, and it blew up that day too. If it was a business decision it would be a no brainer. They say the 2 best days are the day buying a boat and selling it. Bull.

Ticha bought one this week. I have a pal that vapes, and has for 5 months. I don't think it's supposed to work that way. He actually plugged his machine into a plug and sat on the floor puffing away because the battery was dead and the cord is short. I hope the best that you both quit. It's easy for me to quit. I quit many times a year.

I didn't say it's the only place, of course it isn't, it's a good one though. -
I found it boatsafety.com. Calculating water horizon. Calculate the distance to your eye line plus the height off the water. So a 6 foot person standing in the boat say is 9 feet. Take the square root of 9 (3). multiply 1.17 X 3 = 3.51. The waters horizon is 3.51 nautical miles.
