For Irishfield...And other Airplane enthusiasts!
bigbuck replied to Pigeontroller's topic in General Discussion
Nice to see those old birds up in the air, I see the big Lancaster bomber flying once in a while here in Oakville. Just one of the 4 engines on it runs about $1 million. The old warbirds are getting more and more expensive to keep up in the air and when you add in the occasional crash, the fleet is getting smaller. The Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum in Hamilton is a neat place to go visit. You can actually sit in the cockpit of a couple of the old planes there. Help them out by visiting the place. -
On a tank of gas for a car, you are looking at 5-7 bucks extra for a tank of fuel. It adds up. For the most part, if you are going to store your car/truck/anything with a motor, drop some stabilizer in the fuel and run it for a few minutes before you shut it down.

A huge HUGE THANK YOU to Spiel and John Payne

2500 Stradic all the way. -
Good to see that you and your wife got to get out to decompress a bit. Hopefully your ears aren't being beaten up by your shoulders too much.

Buck was my nickname for quite a while (Uncle Buck) and the big cuz I'm a big guy so BigBuck. Simple.

Cinammon buns in Prawda!! Every time we went through, we made a pit stop on the Winnipeg bound run. Gas is definitely cheaper in the 'Peg. Better when you shop at Safeway. I'm missing the in-laws cottage on LOTW. The pickeral in Bigstone Bay are safe this summer.

I use the Stabil Marine Formula for the boat and I add a bit to the snowblower and lawnmower when they go away for the season. I use Seafoam as a cleaner for the carb and upper cylinders. A lot of the 'gurus' on iboats.com don't recommend Seafoam as a fuel stabilizer, as a cleaner yes but not for long term storage of fuel.

I've got a Mustang fisherman's vest and it's fine for me. I'm a big guy and it fits and is comfy.

Spiel, that was incredible of you!! Wayne is a bigtime contributor to the board and has helped out quite a few OFNrs over the years and it is good to see that some of the Karma he has built up over the years is coming back to him by this gesture. Wayne, get your little girl healthy again and get her out to give this rod a test drive. It needs a nice brand spanking new reel. -
Boat,Motor, Trailer and Gear Total Package Weight???
bigbuck replied to RickOnt's topic in General Discussion
I wouldn't go much higher than around 2500lbs. This question comes up fairly often. Tow capacities are calculated based on a 150lb driver and a tank of gas in the vehicle. That's it, no passengers, no gear or stuff in the Jeep, nothing! Whatever goes in the vehicle comes off the capacity, something to remember. Braking is a big factor to consider, a panic stop with a lot of weight in the back is no fun. If you keep your speed to the posted limit, you should be fine but you need to really pay attention to what is going on around you and have plenty of space in front of you. -
Looks like a good time was had by all. Even Lew just about cracked a smile in the pic of him............ Gotta make it up there one year.
-
Boo hoo for them!! It's not a lake that is restricted for motorboats, those knuckleheads don't clean up after themselves and they are giving you dirty looks???
-
Make sure you are using the correct spark plugs. Consult your owner's manual or contact the manufacturer. I'd go with good quality oil as well, not the cheap stuff, esp. for break in.
-
Contact Shimano in Peterborough. They have a lifetime warranty on their new stuff, I don't know about the older rods.
-
Oh yeah, I forgot to mention, there are a lot of rattlers around there. Gerry would always have a rattler or two around his site at some point. Enough for me to say NO THANKS!! I don't like snakes.

Make sure it has what you want/need in it. Don't get too fixated on the price, because if you don't have something on it that you want now, you may not be able to add it later depending on the configuration.

Geez, looking at all that chrome, high rise intakes, blowers, cold air/ram air intakes brings me back. Gotta love cruise nights/car shows in parking lots. I'd love to see Waynes 'Bird some day. If you ever want to dyno it for s's and g's, my buddy has one in Scarborough. It'd be a nice little drive for her to stretch out her legs a bit. Definitely be nice to see a real car on that dyno and not a rice rocket!!! Big Blocks Forever!!!

Beauty!!

Irishfield would be the man to talk to or ask, but he is up at Lakair I think.

What an embarrasment!!! Getting trounced like that by Beantown and then rioting??? What the hell??? Having been out to Vancouver, knowing that they don't like us Ontarians, you know what, I have a real reason not to like them now!! You go you bunch of morons, trash your city!
-
That looks like one of those Polish Perch lures!! I'm getting snacky as my little one says, gotta get into some 'eyes this weekend.
-
McCrae has some fish but it's tough fishing there, I have a buddy who has a boat/motor cache there for when he camps and he has a tough time catching there. For the amount of trouble to get there, I'd try somewhere else.
-
I'd take a day and visit a bunch of them and speak to the owners and also to a few of the campers there. Get a good look at the facilities and see what they have to offer.
-
Nice ride!! Now you have to take her for a shakedown cruise and get some slime on her!!!
