  1. A trolling motor has nothing to do with this.
  2. Actually no. You need oars OR an anchor. Re-read the regs. I have one oar in mine to help pole me out of a shallow situation but not required legally.
  3. Congrats on the boat purchase. Boat licensing is just that. It has nothing to do with taxes. It has to do with having a boat number to identify the vessel. I have no idea why you want oars for a bass boat. Am I missing something here?
  4. I think that was Kurt Nilsen from Norway?
  5. That was just wonderful. I was able to watch it twice and twice, tears of joy welled up for that woman called Susan Boyle.
  6. Sounds like your mind is already made up. Let us know how you make out. And welcome aboard.
  7. Let's give it one more shot to see if anyone takes this seriously.
  8. Sorry guys. Had to put it on hold for a while. I had laundry to do. Everything is super fine now.
  9. WOW! I suppose those come with electric brakes for when they have to haul 12' tinnies?
  10. That board is a landmark for me. It is on the North side of westbound HWY #17 just west of Sturgeon Falls. ps. It's also on the north side if you're eastbound but you'll get a crick in your neck if you try to see it from that angle.
  11. There are exceptions but the general rule of thumb is that everything is powered by the starting battery except the bow mount/transom mount electric trolling/positioning motor.
  12. Sorry Bud... opened the thread cause I thought you were talking about those things you eat with cream cheese.
  13. Good guess Cliff but it can't be him cause John "Grizzly" Adams was born in Medway Massachusetts.
  14. Curt, with any motor with less than 10HP (7.5KW), no, you don't need a number. I would however, paint over those bogus numbers. There's a difference between boat registration and licensing. You'll probably never need to register your boat. You will however, need to license your boat should you have a motor of 10HP or greater( that's why motors are labeled 9.9 by the way). Boat licensing in Canada has nothing to do with ownership/title. It is just a means of identification for search and rescue. Licensing takes but a few minutes at any of the more than 300 Service Canada offices across the country and it's free. If you need any other info on this, PM me. I might be able to help.
  15. Done and thanks for posting it.
  16. I just got a PM from him. Says " Am I ever lucky ol' Gerritt hasn't needed the brakes yet. The front lines are out."
  17. I'd need to get a bigger paper route if I wanted to buy tackle. I don't spend a lot.
  18. Yes holdie, this will get locked but don't go snappin' your suspenders just yet. Your words had nothing to do with the key getting shoved in the lock. Yes this is a scary scenario but our neighbours handled it like the professionals that they are. I don't think that this thread will give us (as a fishing board) much more than a chance to dislike each other for the things that we've said. So, for that let's all take a deep breath, get yourself a beverage and then go read/re-read Moosebunk's report.
  19. Congrats to you and your wife, Dirk! That's just excellent news and Taylor looks like a little princess.
  20. You got that right, Fisherman.
  21. This is my favorite Metallica tune.
  22. The Ojibwa word for poor hunter is "vegetarian".
  23. It's the word filter. When we type "BI" it shows as "SEMI"
  24. Just as a matter of interest, the holes in the lower jaw of both the pike and the muskie are not filtration holes but rather a part of their sensory system.
  25. If I was a CO I'd try to stay clear of three guys prancing into shore all holding the same bucket.
