  1. Kenny, "group 27" is just a physical battery size. It isn't based upon battery strength or performance or type. There are several sizes such as 24, 27, 31. You probably already know that but just pointing it out in case someone is wondering.
  2. Good stuff, Doc. Glad you're having a good time!
  3. And I thought that people from Ottawa were more polite.
  4. And here I thought it was just breathing hard.
  5. I think that Oates probably got the hint by now folks. These kinds of things happen to all of us at some point in our 'careers'.

    Welcome to the community, Richard.

    TGIF!

Yeah I'm stuck at work too but I'll bet there are lotsa jobless folks who would trade places with us. Have a great Friday.
  8. The Optimas are a great battery but if I were you I'd go with Energizers. I have 3 of them in the boat, a starting battery and two deep cycles for the 24 volt bowmount. I got them on special too and so far I've had no issues whatsoever. With the money saved, you can buy yourself a pretty good onboard charger.
  9. It's always a good idea to keep an eye on your RPMs BUT, I have a 60hp 4 stroke and troll down to 1.3 (GPS). If you can't get down to that speed with a 15hp there's definitely something wrong. Have you talked to the dealer about it?
  10. You're right Mike. This is dang near as bad as asking where a secret lake is.
  11. All fish are different. Some remember sounds and, given vocal chords could probably belt out a decent John Prine. Others remember colours and, given arms and hands could most likely do some amazing watercolours. Yet others, are content fondly remembering their last spawn....
  12. Good post Mike and yes, it is completely understandable.
  13. Have you got a portable or integrated fuel tank? Just a hunch but if you unbolt the pickup tube in the tank, you might find some crud in there...an obstruction of some sort that lets enough fuel through until you ask for sustained WOT. That'll be when it bogs down or chokes. Give that a shot if you haven't already.
  14. Super report, Loic. I think I even saw Rob crack a smile on that last one. Thanks for sharing....great stuff!
  15. That's not such a minor point, Rob.
  16. George, tell me the make and year.
  17. I'm sure that individually, none of these kids would have done anything like this. Once they get together in a little group, they encourage each other and they all want to out do each other. May this experience be a lesson for them and for others who may be reading. It's all I gotta say.
  18. Nice setup Tom but the handle's on the wrong side of the reel. You might want to bring it back to them to have them rectify the problem.
  19. Redhorse. That particular one is called Fred. Benson's second cousin.
  20. Hope you and Sue are ok, Cliff. I know that the good folks of the board will never let you down should you need anything. We got hit last night around 10. It lasted no more than 2 hours but it didn't cause any damage from what I could see this morning. A few branches scattered around the roads is all. Hope hydro cleans it up quickly for you.
  21. And for $50, he'll throw in the house.
  22. I'm impressed! Not so much with the fish as with the dude holding 64lbs at arms length like that. That's a pig of a fish. Without offense to our UK brethren, I feel privileged that we have enough fish here that we don't have to give them names. R.I.P. Benson....hope you can settle down in that great underwater cornfield in the sky.
  23. I don't buy them off the rack anymore. For the best quality large muskie spinnerbaits, I think TEP (Jef) makes the best quality there is. For bass, pike and muskie, Bill Cameron (Osprey baits) is hard to beat. Lately, I've been ordering a few baits from Joey right here on the board. Whatever size or colour combo....she makes.
  24. You're right, Chris. People are intimidated by government. Most politicians left 350K per year jobs to take 100Kto "serve the public" wink wink, nudge nudge. Face it folks... we have an ultra socialist government, and I'm using the polite term here.
  25. "Busy" isn't a bad thing. It makes you really appreciate any down time you can find. You have a great four weeks....when you deserve it, it's much easier to take. I have one week left right now but it's one of those years where things are a little more difficult than normal. You have a great time during your holidays!
