Disagreeing is not a bad thing....you'll notice that I disagreed as well. As far as changing someone's mind is concerned, that's the ultimate put down. You cannot change my mind. I would think that there'd be a pull cord inside the cowl...usually affixed the the upper portion (inside) of the cowl.

The answer to your question TJ is YES. Two negatives together and two positives together. If you wanted the two 12 volt batteries to make 24 volts, you`d connect a positive to the negative of the batteries and then connect your accessory to the outside positive of one battery and to the outside negative of the other. You`ll see the diagrams HERE! Bubba.

You did good. That's a clean motor. Go to the Mercury site and type in the mod/ser number....you`ll get the schematics for it.
