  1. Great job on the harnesses guys. I seldom have more than 2-3 pre-tied with me but I keep a small kit aboard to make them as I need them. They only take but a minute or two to make and you can tweak them as conditions dictate. Works well for me, anyhow.
  2. And I think that everyone is glad you did, Norm. (manly hug)

    Cabin fever

Didn't mean to upset you Xeon. They don't all spawn at the same time. I'll say it again, when the walleye run up the rivers here in the spring, they usually are spawning so I just wait till that's done before I go after them. Is that better? edit: Bass and Muskie you can forget about until mid June at least, in that area.

    Cabin fever

When walleye come up the rivers here, it usually means that they're spawning so, even if the season is open, it's probably not a good time to fish for them. But hey, that's just my opinion. I hope you do well.
  5. Ol' Raf always has the correct answer. Way to go Rafal....
  6. Hey Bushart....don't buy raw nor burnt....use Van Dyke and add the red and/or ochre that you need. edit: Better still, build your own with the 3 majors...much cleaner and more precise for whichever application you want.
  7. Hey Garry! If it's any consolation, this thread has been up for only 6 hours and you have 445 hits and 20 replies! That's gotta mean something......I was gunna post your video rendition of "On the Road Again" but I can't find it just now and expecting company here. I'm sure that someone will. (hopefully)
  8. I'm sorry to hear this Garry. Very sorry. You have provided us with knowledge of baitcasters like no one could ever have done. BUT, you have left this board twice before so I don't feel as though it's a real severance of ties. I hope that things go well for you Garry. Lotsa folks look up to you here.
  9. Hard to believe that not more people know about this. My house pic was taken June 4th '09. I can tell by which vehicles are in the driveway, the progress of the hanging baskets and flowers and the recycling bin out on the curb.
  10. Dave, just tell them you want to add a TV to your home insurance.....a coupla bucks ought to do it.
  11. Jon, go easy on the bondy baits thing. Four posts to our community and they're all thinly veiled attempts at steering folks to your site or baits. It would sound much better to everyone if you introduced yourself.
  12. I don't think we should have to pin anything that should be a given....common sense.
  13. Nice pics, thanks. That last one isn't a beaver by the way. A little too tall.
  14. This thread was doomed from the very start. I'm sure that most people knew that.
  15. Good to hear the service was good. Thanks for posting this, Rob. It may very well help a few members out.
  16. At the gelcoat store. Any marine shop will have it for sale. CTC even sells the stuff. edit: If you're never done gelcoat before, do yourself a big favour and don't just read what it says on the can... do some Googling.
  17. Which booth will you be at Carl?
  18. Same place it always was. Try here: http://www.ofncommunity.com/forums/index.p...m&album=217
  19. Yes, congrats to you Cliff. Mike said it right......you never complain, you just git'er done.
  20. By pure happenstance, I'll be at the show on Saturday. Really glad to hear you'll be there. I'll be there with J so that should keep me in line all day. I wasn't really going to go to that one but I really want to hear you tell a joke in French. For those of you who are in the area, heres a link to the show. Looking forward to seeing you Dave. Marc Thorpe will be there also. http://www.salonexpertchassemontreal.ca/index.php?id=12 And, here's a cut and paste from one of their pages. 21. Just an amazing clip Dan. Thanks for posting it. That one's got to be everyone's ice fishing fantasy.
  22. Excellent news Mike. Very happy that all went well for your Dad.
  23. I have a few friends who use Frogg Toggs and they're very happy with them. All I have now is a very heavy Wetskins suit and my next rainwear purchase will be Frogg Toggs. Check out the clickable link. They have quite the variety and list the dealers where you can buy these things.
  24. Yeah and make it a Yammy powered one.

    Fish Diet

It's not the cold that burns fish or meat in a freezer, it's the air. If you have a good quality vacuum bagger it'll save you from a lot of wasted meat. Another way is to cover the fish in water. Lots of folks use milk cartons, drop their fillets in and fill with water. They won't burn when encased in ice and the cartons stack nicely. That being said, I seldom freeze quantities of fish....Just keep the amount you can eat right away. They'll be tastier that way and you'll also have some free room on your possession limit to get out fishing again.
