  1. Marc Thorpe and Pete Maina both share the same birthday today. Brudders from different Mudders. Have a great day guys. OH, and Marc, I'm looking for it but wasn't that show you did with Big Jim McLaughlin supposed to be on today on Angler and Hunter TV (OFAH)? If you see this, let me know.
  2. Happy New Year to you and yours, Simon. A skunking or two at the very end of the year is a good thing. Get them all out of the way to start the new year off on the right foot.....ok ok, 30.48 centimetres....... Thanks for the report.
  3. AHHHHHHHH Wintrenet, ain't it grande?
  4. Roy this, Roy that. Will you leave me alone? I'm doing the best I can!
  5. Happy New Year to you too, Lew. The same to everyone else here. May 2011 be filled with happiness and good health.
  6. 7. What? No saugeyes?
  8. Let's all call them "zander" and be done with it. Personally, I prefer the word "pickerel" but I call them "walleye" for the board.. Or let's all go to the Latin names for fish.
  9. I didn't miss this thread I've just been busier than a one-legged cat burying a turd on a frozen pond. Looks like you, Barb and your brother had a good summer. I hope that 2011 is even better for you.
  10. It would scare to crap out of me to see any of my boys doing that. I don't think they would though...they seem to all have inherited my chickenpoop gene.
  11. I really don't know what to say, Norm. That's terrible news. Jack, with two good arms and hands, you'll be able to carve and do what you enjoyed over the years for a very long time. We'll all catch up with you soon. My condolences to Jackie, family and friends.
  12. I know that some years ago, Bob was fishing with a friend here. The friend just happened to mention that it was his son's birthday. Bob insisted that he drive 40 miles (miles not KMs) out of his way, 80 miles both ways to visit with the boy who was 12ish at the time. Bob was the kid's idol. When Bob knocked at the door, the kid answered and when he saw the Zoomer his jaw dropped. Bob left him some stuff, wished him a happy birthday and left as suddenly as he had arrived. I always had respect for the dude....today I have more.
  13. I'm a proponent of quality socks and boots as opposed to heated boots. A warm hat will also feed a degree or two more to your feet. (NO, the hat on your head, not on your feet!)
  14. Lose the line twists....go with baitcasters.
  15. Hard for her to be anywhere else. She spends a lot of time on her back.
  16. It's over now. Lots of people put their best into it. It'd be great to put your hands together right now and give it up for Brian, AKA Slowpoke. Brian looked after it all year. It's not an easy job guys, but he pulled it off like a pro, never skipped a beat. Thank you Brian. Friends like you, doing that much work for the community is what it's all about..
  17. There's a special in Cabela's Bargain Cave...might want to check it out.
  18. Great pictures, Nick. Y'know, that's one of the really great things about this community. With the number of members here, there's always someone around who can answer your question. In this case it's either Irishfield who, over the years has observed weather conditions by having to fly though the stuff or Solopaddler who earns his living knowing about these things. It's really great. Thank you.
  19. There's also a difference between lake fishing and river fishing. They make cams that are specifically designed for current.
  20. Good stuff, congrats to you. Smart of you the bring light beer on thin ice......brilliant even....
  21. Hope he doesn't get car sick.
  22. They'll bloat...give them anything but alphalpha.

You all be well and I'll post a pic or two of the disaster afterwards. <a href="http://s300.photobucket.com/albums/nn28/Bassigan/Christmas%202010/?action=view&current=002.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i300.photobucket.com/albums/nn28/Bassigan/Christmas%202010/002.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>
