  1. Yeah Jimmer... That one is a little bigger than normal for that water. Most are around 2- 2.5 lbs. Catching anything over 5lbs is akin to landing a 5+ bass.
  2. Yes they would look like pike being of the same family, ESOX. They've got a shorter trappier body than a pike and their markings are always the same. It looks like chain work. Lots of them down this way. Here's one my grandaughter caught shore fishing.
  3. Yup. Lew you're not likely to have many problems with tires because of your driving style and the fact that you look after your stuff. Most folks only check their tires when one is visibly low...run them into curbs and rocks and things then complain about poor quality. For a trailer I'd be more concerned about out of round rims and faulty hubs than tires. But hey, you know how opinions work.
  4. There are dozens of very good line to line / line to leader knots out there. Most are reasonably easy to tie. What is the best knot for me might not be the best for you. For example, the double uni is an excellent knot for joining two lines but put me out in a boat in the late fall and with the wind and numb fingers I'll never be able to tie one. Look at the link below, bookmark it under "fishing tips" or somesuch and when you have the time, go through them and find which one you're comfortable with. All of the knots listed are good but if you can't tie them properly in the fishing conditions you're in, they're useless. Practice your chosen knots at home 'til they become second nature. Just remember that while you're out fishing you won't always be in ideal conditions. Here's the link: http://www.netknots.com/html/fishing_knots.html
  5. For carb cleaning if they use a guitar string on a Mercury and piano wire for Yamahas and Suzukis, for Johnsons do they use catheters?
  6. HAHAHA Yeah, not like a coyote, a bruin, a leaf, a wing, a flame etc etc...
  7. Dem's de ones. Thanks for the pics.
  8. Gobies have been in Simcoe since at least 2006. Couchiching probably shortly thereafter.
  9. Mine are rectangular, Paul.
  10. Yeah, Roger, it is a bit of a pain but you have to push that whole side in to be able to pull it out. You'll notice that one of the surfaces is more flexible than the others. That's the one that pops off.
  11. I have a Princecraft trailer, Roger. They're manufactured by Remeq. There are 2 bolts coming through the back of the metal housing. I need to remove the nuts on both bolts to get the red lens out. The first time I removed them I replaced them with stainless hardware.
  12. Beauty! How deep were those smallies Terry?
  13. Up until now I didn't know what it took to be a hockey fan. Now I know. You need a critical eye for men's apparel, colour and be acutely aware of fashion. Who cares how they play, right?
  14. Brian's got to know this for sure!
  15. Well I hear about the Conestogo and Bellwood and Guelph lake also but I know nothing of the area. Someone will surely chime in with some help.
  16. Is there water in Guelph?
  17. Happy Birthday Simon and thanks for the heads up, Sean.
  18. I thought that "shiatsu" meant "finger pressure massage".
  19. What's the inscription on it?
  20. Nice getaway for you guys. Glad you enjoyed. Zip line? You don need no stinkin' zip line. Get all the thrills you'll ever want from driving over and under viaducts around here. Thanks for the pics.
  21. Fantastic fish Kevin and company! Thanks so much for the show and tell.
  22. WOW! It's starting to look like a MASH unit now, Bud.
  23. Walleyes, smallies and rock bass....no mishaps? Thanks for the report, Randy.
  24. For what it's worth, the MNR officially declared the blue walleye extinct in 1985, the last one having been caught on Lake Erie in 1965. But then these are the same people who declared aurora trout as being extinct. So, whose nose.
  25. Well done Mike and Rick. Some very nice fish for a cold front day. Some very nice fish for ANY day.
