  1. Yep, it keeps me on shore when I see those 6' white caps Got to admit, wind and pressure does effect fishing but I still go. If we waited for the perfect day, we probably wouldn't go half as much. But still can't figure out 4 guys in a boat, 3 of the guys are catching fish and the guy in the middle not catching a thing using the same bait What makes madder's worse, the 4th guy is me. No comments spiel
  2. Thanks Bro, now that's music Just listening to that music you don't see very many old entertainers in the modern rock world. Sure wish I had that on the Stelco gates yesterday mornin, might have cheered the boys up. Thanks for the post Bud you made my day
  3. Yes it was Harry. I was on CHCH TV this morning at 7am. it was from this morning at the gate at 6;30am.
  4. Can't tell, but give you a hint, it's in a bay on Erie and looks like a birthday cake. You have to sort through small ones. WE took home 75 last Sat. but you need a boat
  5. I do the same except I fry onions with the tomatoes and when done I Scramble a few eggs and mix in. Stand back, man a work, sparks coming off the fork
  6. May 2005, the Halifax Chronicle-Herald announced that MARCOM was looking to sell Okanagan for scrap metal, along with three other Canadian Oberons laid up at CFB Halifax. MARCOM stated that the submarines were not in suitable condition to be used as museum ships and predicted that each submarine would sell for between C$50,000 and C$60,000.[1] Okanagan is to be towed to a scrapyard in Port Maitland, Ontario in 2011.
  7. X2 Thanks Paul for the link. Some good read there. Shame if they cut them up. They'd make a good tourist attraction
  8. I fished Lake O yesterday off the Hamilton canal and never moved a rod but I did catch this coming out of the ship canal, what a surprise. I did hear on the VHF that a Sub was coming out of the canal, My first thought was I hope this Sub knows I'm fishing out front, down-rigger cables caught on Sub and me going for a ride The harbor master was talking to the crew on the radio and said, who would ever think you would have to lift the bridge for a Sub
  9. The only place I know is the Blue Beacon Marine at the narrows in Orillia.
  10. 80 HP on a 16'tiller is a accident going some place to happen. I have a 50 Honda on my 16' Princecraft Holiday tiller and it's scary by myself. If you heading into the wind, it wants to take flight
  11. I leave early 5am. fuel up at Timmy's with high-test, I drive middle lane at 120 km, if you want by go for it, on the left. Plus get to fish more hours on the water. My traveling buddy's tire early, so leaves more beer for the real party men at night after 12 hours on the water.
  12. Barbless is great, but if your live bait fishing, good luck with that.
  13. Thanks Leechman, I see the pictures are back up now. Those boxes sure look heavy duty.
  14. Thanks Fisherman I'll most likely go with the plywood because I've got it already. Size I have worked out for my rack is 34"x16" and 12" high.
  15. Thanks Wayne, you know I think I saw that thread, but at the time I wasn't interested in building one. After buying a ATV I want to build one. Isn't that the way. Man I wished the pictures were there.
  16. I know a few OFC guys have built one. Is there any plans out there or you just wing it. I'm drawing up plans but looking for some tips. I want to put it on my front racks to carry some gear and my power auger. Anyone have any pictures or tips they want to share with a want-a-be ice traveler. Thanks The Farmer
  17. Thanks for putting the time in for that report. That was better than any TV fishing show and no commercials. What a trip for the kids, and adults. Thanks for sharing.
  18. Make sure you take lots of Props with you. Very poor lake to have a tourney. Very little parking, you can't park at the launch. Maybe enough room for 10 vehicles across the road as Rizzo said. Balsam would be a better choice. Head is to small a lake for a tourney plus Head is a float plane airport.
  19. I had this sent to me the other day to post on our club site, looks like a nice machine for the price. Click below http://stelcofishingclub.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=board2&action=display&thread=174
  20. X2 Maybe I'm confused, you say you set the drag light and your rigger clip broke off into the water. Something is wrong there. Another thought you may have foul hooked the Salmon which happens time to time. Tail hook ups can happen. 20LB test mono is lots for Salmon but you start adding the other crap like divers and flashers they all work against you and the fish. You have a lot of connections and knots which sometime foul into each other if the fish turns and spins. Allot of brake offs happen some time running sliders. Running divers you should be running braid or wire (no stretch) to release the diver. Most times the diver won't release with mono if your setting is set to tight. If you have a big King on slow down, make a turn but don't forget, he can come back at you just as fast. Just a thought I caught about 15 bows the other day and 2 were caught in the gut and I was just using the riggers with SMALL spoons. Foul can happen. I troll 3.5 to 4.0.
  21. What's wrong with CTC brand Stabilizer? That's what I,ve been using.
  22. Gas prices keep going up, you'll see a lot less. Pretty hard to pull a boat with a Civic.
  23. Nice work!!, at first I thought it was a photo.
  24. X2 An old guy I new years ago, used to use sheephead. Big pot of water and a cup of salt. Drop cut strips of the fillet in as soon as it turned white scooped out and on ice then dip in shrimp sauce. Myself I just love catching Drum, not eating. Shut-up Chris Spiel
