31 pages, Wow, surprised it's not got locked
Fish Farmer replied to nofish4me's topic in General Discussion
Maybe we can't afford the gas and have to stay home listen to music. Your right, I've see some great fishing threads here, some have spent hours posting, only go 3or4 pages. Shame. -
When I retired, a guy asked me what I was going to do, I said...more fishin but the only thing I worry about is the price of gas, he scratched his head. Now after 7 years retired, my pension hasn't changed, wages haven't changed. Why do they make excuses that the cost of living is going up. 7 years ago, gas was about $0.55 a liter and gas company's were making profits. I said this before, the BIG crash is coming. , If we stop buying big cars trucks, toys, etc. and don't travel our big country, tourism is going to suffer, resorts close, business etc. The world runs on oil, and when you can't afford to buy it, then something is going to happen. Most on here are talking staying closer to home. Others are working more hours to try and stay ahead, both husband and partner are working and struggling. Not good.

It's a wonder they don't run out of excuses for gas going up. I think they herd I was going fishing next week, so there going to put it up. $6.00 a gallon. It's getting hard to swallow, $30.00 to fill one 5 gallon boat tank. How can they justify putting it up $0.30 a gallon over night.

Thanks for taking the time to make a great report. I felt as If I was there with you guys. -
Thanks for the info. Looks like I won't go there. Now I'm having second thoughts of buying a Sun Derby Ticket. Gas going through the roof and getting raped at the launch.

Your welcome Brian and thank you because your story almost reminds me about my pop taking me and my sister out Speckle fishin and my dad taking bags to pick fiddleheads on our walk in the bush. Thanks Brudder , nothin like memories

Deer Fight Interrupted by a Single Bullet This is not what you would expect. Watch it, even if you don't like hunting. Two deer are locked up in a fight and would have died a slow death. See what a hunter does with a bullet. It has a good ending. Have the volume turned up. http://www.texashuntfish.com/app/forum/25824/Deer-Fight-Interrupted-by-a

I just boil for a few Min's then drain, dump on plate then butter pepper and salt some people shake a little vinegar on top. After you pick them they are a pain to clean but well worth the work. Another thing it's hard to find a place to pick them close to Hamilton, most places are posted. I'll have to try the Nutmeg as fisherman suggested, sounds good. I have had them in a stir fry, and that was good.

Brudder you must have been peekin

Art Did you know we can't say the "N" word up here. The Sheep won't let us

Your right bucktail. Nip used to be our yearly trip till they introduced the slot. We had to release every Walleye that we caught and our shore lunch was Perch and Sunfish. At the end of the road in Sturgeon Falls, the slot fish we released were be loaded on reefer trucks going to market by you know who. With this gas thing and scared thing we can't say, I feel for the tourism business. Isn't our government wonderful.

I'm surprised they would package a motor that size on that boat. I see they added a after thought plate, looks a little suspicious. That transom is to thin by the looks. Good job you didn't get the 150 hp. I think I'd be going after the dealer. 70 Hp Max on that boat.
-
Is there any Walleye left there. I thought they were all netted. Can't afford the gas to travel there anymore anyways
-
I bought a car from Auto Trade Center in London. Great prices is what I thought. I went there from Hamilton. Found them through here My link

Thanks Guys. I sure tell ya, was nice to get back to the Motel and your right, some of the stories I've heard a dozen times but you still laugh, could be the refreshments. We're really looking for the tags, not to take fish home. 2 of the guys wanted a few for a feed but it was slim pickins for keepers. A lot of the ones they kept had a lot of worms in the filet's, that turned a few of the guys off for ever keeping perch anymore. Give me Erie Perch any time over Simcoe.
-
I've fished the Fest for 30 years and never seen so little amount of boats. 4 days of snow, rain, cold and wet. Lots of fish caught in the marinas but all small. No tags or keepers were caught in our group of 8 guys. One day we had snow ball fights in the boats. There has been 4 tags caught as of Wed. Man was it nice to get back to the motel after a day of freezing and getting wet. We hit the sauna, hot tub, pool then the coolers Some people call us crazy fisherman but do we have a get time. back at the motel we look back and say boy it's nice to get away with the buds, even if it's just Perchin.

Hy Miller, did you call Tys at the RGB?
