  1. I had a 3" flap gouge done by a plastic lawn chair that broke. I glued it with contact cement and it's held now for 3 years. If I ever by another boat I don't know if I would go to vinyl again. I find it gets soft in the sun and slippery when wet. The only upside, it cleans.
  2. 40" Muskie caught on a Custom Spiel ultra light pan-fish rod 5', 2 to 4 lb test. #6 snelled hook using 4 lb line. The rod is in the picture bottom right. My buds couldn't believe that we got it in. Caught it Perch fishing at Lowbanks
  3. Thats been around for awhile, it's 2 Pike, one small Pike pulled under the larger ones gill plate. Trick picture
  4. Very good info Home Town, thanks for posting.
  5. Yes today at Sobey's Lake Erie Yellow Perch $4.99 LB. at Queenston Rd. Hamilton East I couldn't belive it.
  6. Seen the same thing at the Perch Fest in Orillia, Put it was a Big OPP Boat going full tilt right through a bunch of small Tinnys with family's fishing. He came by later checking and I gave him a peace of my mind. He should know better. The Cop's stupid answer was it's a channel,People shouldn't anchor there. So I said, so it's OK to kill some poor kid just because you have the right of way. OH man was I mad!!! This derby is only for a few weeks brings big money to Orillia. Have a little sense. It's hard enough to get kids out fishing. OH threads like this gets my blood boiling. Big boats, fast boats, Operator Cards, and KNOW Brains. "Roy" can I borrow your candlestick ?
  7. Somebody just made that name up . That style of fishing has been around for centuries. I think it started back home, down east, they call it set-lines, but only 1 or 2 hooks. , any style of bell sinker will work just as good. To get less snags, use a piece of lead wire on the end. Make a small hole in the end of the wire with a awl, and bend the wire like a banana
  8. I've never seen a gun shoot anyone, You can leave it out in the middle of the street for years and it will never go off. It's the wrong person that should be locked up in the vault for pulling the trigger. People kill, not GUNS. Thought this thread was about Air Rifles being locked up. I see more dangerous people with keys driving the highways.
  9. Thanks for sharing Wayne. Just nice to get away for some nice OFC fresh air. Nothing better than good friends to talk laugh & listen.
  10. The line is going to miss you Phil you can stick me in your back pocket, you lucky dog. Wait till I tell Glenn You going with Andy? Andy could give you some tips. Good Luck Bud, have a good time. Make sure you take your tapes for your big Speck entry.
  11. Mike, these eggs you see in the meat, are they black specks? How big are the eggs? Would be good if you had a picture. It might show us something we have never seen. A fisheries Biologist might be interested or could give you the right answers.
  12. If your filleting, why are you in the guts? All the Walleye I've done, wouldn't make any difference, I wouldn't have seen them. Your eating the meat not the guts. The yellow grub or Tumors would be my worry. Plus you can pick the grubs out. Cod is full of worms and we eat Cod. Tilapia is another poop story.
  13. Findley hit 100% and has cold off.
  14. I used my new 27 deep cycle battery every day last week for 7 days strait, every night I came in, It got hooked up to the CTEK on the car setting. In the morning it showed 1/2 battery, it didn't get fully charged. I think on that setting it only gets 2 amps. Like Fisherman says. Since I came home it's been charging 2 days now and it's not 100 %
  15. I've been using my CTEK charger and it gets fairly hot, is that normal? I know there is a few guys on here that has one. Thanks for any info.
  16. Princecraft, I've had 3 and I'd never buy another. Alright on a mill pond. No good on big water. If I had to do it over. I'd go Harborcraft or Stanley or west coast boats mentioned above.
  17. Gezz Roy, I new there was something why I don't like to eat Walleye from the Grand.
  18. Muddy water. Any fish you catch in the lower Grand are very light in color.
  19. Mohawk Marine Mike Walker in Lowbanks Lake Erie will help you out. He's located east of Dunville. That's if you want to fish Erie for Perch, Walleye, Bass, or a odd Muskie.Oh yes the #1 GAME FISH (DRUM) 2472 North Shore Drive 800 531 3772, 905 774 1229 My link www.mohawkmarina.ca
  20. Great Dad and Great kids. Thanks for sharing, what a post! Sure brings back memories of my past. Your kids will never forget,DAD.
  21. Just fished there for 9 days, A little tip. When I go to Jacobs I take a 5 gallon pail with a lid, cut a small whole in the center of the lid, run a 120 W aquarium pump plugged into a boaster box with 120 inverter plugs. The aquarium pump is quieter than those battery operated ones and they pump more air. Get extra water in the pail. The pump I use has 2 air lines because I get 2 pails going for 8 guys.
  22. If your in the Grimsby area, check this club out ,great club http://www.straitlineanglers.com/
  23. Best place is on HWY 11 Jacobs Bait, Just before the #12 cut off Memorial Drive. Or Tromblys Tackle Box, West St.
  24. Dave don't listin to those guys, You still have the best boat on the water . But Dufus, I wouldn't take that.
  25. I just bought the new Hot Maps Premium and it's going back because it hasn't got the great lakes on it. It has 17000 lakes on it and 1000 HD It covers most of Canada. If it had the Great lakes I would have kept it. It covers a lot of lakes in Ont. I'm going with the Fish & Chips. Anyone have info on it??
