  1. thank you for your reply i would appreciate your honesty in determining whether to book at this camp we are a fishing group last year we stayed at a fishing camp near hartley bay . we were there in early sept. we were targeting walleye , bass we thought our target area would be the surrounding camp waters. the area is huge for ist timer's hired a guide thru the camp . guide was great except one striking feature of our excursion was that we were taken to georgian bay using the western channel. without a guide we would have never cleared the multitude of rapids . we were told that our prospects for walleye were better in georgian bay where it meets the french . we fish near an abandon lodge . did really good . trip was a life time experience. 45 min trip 50 hp merc on our own fishing camp waters we did resonably well with walleye & bass after this trip our group figured if we're for walleye & we have to end up in georgian bay when staying at a camp on the french why not move the operation to where the prime fishing could be.... this hopefully why we're checking out georgian bay fishing camp we're told june/july are the best months for walleye what about sept /early oct at this camp targeting walleye . what's your opinion? lastly , in , confidence, our group is looking for clean , well run camp, housekeeping ( we prepare our own meals) for a fishing trip . can this camp offer these amenities. your frank opinion would be kept in confidence . we are older guys not looking to stir up a problem with anyone
  2. thanks to all those helpful people that responded to my post for georgian bay fishing camp . if anyone has stayed there recently or can recommend this camp to a group of walleye fishermen that are seeking suitable accommodation would appreciate hearing from any interested members out there . thanks again
  3. anyone heard of this fishing camp. planning ahead for late summer early fall fishing trip to this area . targeting walleye , bass. one advantage to this camp is that it is situated on georgian bay connecting to french river . is this a good fishing location ? any info on this camp 's facilities would be appreciated . thanks ps coming down the french river to get to this camp looks impossible without a guide because of the rapids in this region ......
  4. anyone stayed at kenogamming lodge , gogama area. seen ads in various fishing mag's rec'd this lodge for jumbo perch, walleye & pike. also appreciate recommendation for bait casting reel (1) monofilament or (2) fluorocarbon . currently using what is referred to as " whiplash" green colour line . very pliable but durable & does not snarl up in reel when casting . any opinion on line selection for bait casting reel , northern shield lake fishing & targeting walleye. thanks
  5. really appreciate all the responses rec'd to the moment regarding french river lodge , fishing advice, scenery etc . this area sounds fantastic just to visit. i guess you can go further up north to supposely plug into healthier fish populations but the way this area is described, save on time , save on gas & still get the same bang if not bigger. for the buck. thanks again to everbody for your help. this trip is on ! will report back
  6. anyone stayed at this lodge recently. considering booking for early sept fishing trip in lower french river at this lodge. would appreciate any comments on the lodge & fishing conditions in this zone for walleye, bass & pike. any info would be helpful. thanks
  7. thanks marty. good luck . safe travel & looking forward to hearing from you on return . thanks
  8. anyone been fishing in this sector recently and would appreciate any reports on walleye fishing success in this location . is nipissing water level up or at normal level at this time . reports i've heard is this area is rated fairly high for it's walleye population ... any information on how to target this area would be appreiated. thanks
  9. need update on fishing activity in upper french river at mouth of lake nipissing especially walleye action . heading up there at end of august . heard this area can be prime for walleye, pike bass etc. anyone fish this area lately or been up there recently. thanks
  10. marty thanks for the prompt repy . our group resides about 10 miles from detroit border . all retired . welder/ pipefitter trade careers . have been to west arm of lake nipisssing mostly from past referrals but this area can be very spotty in terms of fishing results. anything you can can pass on would help. we like to fish & relax without going overboard . thanks . mover ps why is this area hard to fish? pls explain (4) in the group & our camp is located about 2-3 miles from blueberry island! our hope is to find some decent walleye fishing action along with other fish ( pike, bass, perch etc. we have gone up north usually later in sept but foul weather & cold fronts seem to knock the fishing down . we're heading up earlier for this reason . after labour day week-end ps was in your home town about 10 YEARS AGO with our travel hockey team . great time & reception from people there. hope to hear back!
  11. heading to area lodge at mouth of french /l. nipssing early sept . new to this area . have heard walleye fishing along with other species can be very good . feedback would appreciated . this area is remote & perhaps less pressured ? all comments would be helpful. thanks
