  1. Not much to translate. Called it fish vulcano and prety much juts swearing in Russain from disbelief. I'm guess there's too much water pressure and because of the think ice it's just overflowing.
  2. Any updates on Binbrook? it should be well below zero till monday 28th. Would love to get out on the weekend.
  3. I'm looking to rent a cottage for a weekend in May or June for 4 people. I friend of mine suggested Honey Harbour. I've never fished or been there or anywhere on Geordan bay. I like the idea because it's reletively close to Hamilton but I supposed it can any anywhere else with in same distance. The cottage would have to be private and include a boat. Can anyone suggest a cottage/location?
  4. If the weather says as expected will there be enough ice to fish the Harbour and some smaller lakes around Hamilton before the 30/31 warm up?
  5. I'm uptodate on the regs. pike, trout, carp is what I was after.
  6. I went to the Harbour instead, verry murky water no visability. Fished by the Desjardines canal and Pier 4 and no luck. Met a guy there he said he tried LaSale earlier today and got skuncked.
  7. I'm looking at picking up a Marcum ShowDown Troller fish finder so I'm hoping I can get some feedback from people who have/used them. I read that it can read thru ice which would be handly. Can you also use it from a boat? I'm guessing the boat would have to stay still, but would the cord be even long enough?
  8. I drive a Mazda 3 and have a 7ft rod in my car right now (it pretty much stays there lol). It fits no problem. I bet it can fit an 8' too.
  9. ^ LOL that was hillarious! Still I think if you're going to kill a fish it should be put out of it's misery as soon as possible. I wouldn't fish with people who do otherwize.
  10. Looking for a place to go fishing on Tue, havent been to the Grand river in 2 months (and no luck last couple of times I was there). I'd be fishing around Caledonia most likely. Anyone been there lately? Worth going or should I go elsewhere?

    BRUTAL

I don't know about that. People still make choices and should be held responsible. If he knew how to prepare for it and gather 3 guns, ammo mags and know how operate them/reload etc he knew what he was doing just fine. He killed himself to avoid the punishment, that was a choice too.

Pretty shocking and upsetting news.... Why??? I don't know about that...I'm a gun owner, have a cell phone and play video games once in a while. I do have a full time job and rather be fishing than sitting in front of the TV but still enjoy some down time at night. I'd never go shooting up any schools tho. Don't know why things like this didn't happen before but you cant just blame video games or cell phones.
  13. Thanks^ I just did more research and yes no ice fishing or pike/bass fishing during winter. Kinda sucks ice fishing would be awesome at Mountsberg but the fish could use a brake there.
  14. MNR or conservation area? Either way as I said in my post they are not the same which is why I posted this. I was hoping someone would know based on the previous years.
  15. Does Mountsberg have ice fishing? or can you even still fish now before the ice comes? Bass season is done soon everywhere and if I remember correctly the sign says pike season closes November 30 even though most places in zone 16 you can fish for them till April.
  16. Nice, cant want for spring when those big cats start to spawn.
  17. ^ I was looking at those but want sure how it does for still fishing; it says optimal speed is 14km an hour my trolling motor doesn't even go that fast...Anyone used it for ice fishing or low speed trolling?
  18. I want to give ice fishing a try, hope it's cold enough this year for that. I wouldn't mind getting something to improve my chances of catching fish. After reading the thread on flashers and looking more into them I was quite surprised to see that they go for half a grand. I thought well goes that idea lol. Are there any affordable units that would work for ice fishing? flashers or sonars? Also if i can use it on an inflatable in the summer all the better! I guess my budget would be up to $200.
  19. I use my Walmart Mastercard a lot you get points pretty quick and can redeem them as soon as you have $5 or you can save up (one time I had $50 in rewards.). Some Walmarts have a decent fishing selection.
  20. Nice, must've been a lot of fun! Loved the pike footage.
  21. Not sure I undrstand, do you mean if you drill two holes and connect them?
  22. If it's cold enough this winter I definatelly want to give ice fishing a try, which I don't know too much about yet. I'm obsessed with pike fishing so I was wondering how that would effect my gear selection. I'll be getting a manual auger, what diameter would be best? last thing I want is to catch a big one and have a hole thats too small. What line weight would be best? Also do ice fishing rods have rating like regular rods do? is there an ulra light and heavy ice fishing rods?
  23. hey hammercarp whats carp fishing like right now at the harbour?
  24. Thanks guys. Is the Bay park my best bet or any other spots might be better? This weekend I'll be in London so maybe Monday.
