Hey a fellow Sudburian! Born and raised in sudbury here - did most of my smallie fishing in Wanapetei, The West Arm, and Nepewassi. I wasn't trying to rub anything in your face - just a joke man. No need to be so serious all the time. What's the point in living if you can't get a good laugh in from time to time. I agree that the P3TA jokes may have been a little over the top, but just take it with a grain of salt. Like some people said, different strokes for different folks. I respect the fact that you prefer not to keep any fish in the livewell. I on the other hand do keep them in the livewell from time to time for photos. If I ever fish out of your boat, I'll be sure to let them go boat side! Now get out and catch some fish - but not smallies, they don't open for some time up in suds! Cheers, UF

Does this make me look bad? One was in the LIVEWELL for a short while (much shorter than tournament fish) and when I got the bigger one we took a quick shot of them and let them both go - They're out there waiting for you right now! As mentioned above, there's plenty of ways that people can take photos of two bass while releasing them both for another day... THIS however, is not a good example of how to take multiple bass photos! lol Fact of the matter is, although I don't condone keeping multiple trophy bass to take home, if people do it within the regulations there's not a darn thing anybody can do about it. Cheers, UF

Going to try for Steelhead for the first time

yeah it's open all year from the mouth of the river up to erindale for sure - i'm sure somebody will chime in and remind me which highway is the cut-off. -
Hey brother - I know you're most likely on a limited budget so a 30lb thrust motor will push your little tinny just fine..... Put it this way, I've got a 30lb thrust minnkota bow mount on my 15 foot Jon Boat. The boat has a full floor, casting deck, rod locker, 2 full sized batteries, a full tank of gas and 20hp 4 stroke motor and the 30lber pushes me along with ease! As far as speed is concerned, correct me if I'm wrong guys, but higher thrust doesn't exactly mean you'll go a whole lot faster, it just means you'll have more torque? Thus more thrust will more easily push around a heavier boat? I guess the higher thrust motor might be able to rip through those weeds on the bog a little easier? ........ I didn't read your post thoroughly enough - If I were you I'd give the minnkota you already have a shot before buying anything else. It'll probably do the trick - save your money and keep your eyes peeled for a good deal on a gas motor! As far as batteries go any name-brand deep cycle battery you can get your hands on will be fine. I've used a few different brands and have had ZERO difference in results. For your charger, keep your eyes peeled for the AUTOMATIC charger from CT. They come on sale all the time, and it's nice to have the peace of mind knowing that it'll stop charging if you forget about it, and won't fry your battery. Good luck on your purchase either way! Cheers, UF

I'd come dude but Ginny's about 5 seconds away from popping! lol Baby boy is due anytime now so I'm "on call" until he decides it's time to be born. And considering she's stuck on having him in Oakville I have to be close by when the time comes. Have a good one though, and congrats! Ryan -
Any one have a Jon Boat Tracker Info???
The Urban Fisherman replied to Mr Twister's topic in General Discussion
Can't help you with trackers but I've got a 15' G3 w/ 20hp yamaha. Same as GeorgeJ with the Mod-V hull. Love the boat, handled some sizeable waves on long point bay last summer with no trouble. If you're looking for a good boat for hunting and fishing check out the G3's also. Mine is actually a Duck Boat, and I don't hunt at all but LOVE all the space I have in the middle - and it has a casting deck up front. GEORGEJ - do you know what speeds you get with your 25HP motor? I get about 27MPH with my 20 and wondered how much faster a 25 would go...BTW mine is a 4 stroke.... -
Welcome to the board dude! I don't know any shore spots for ya, but I was out on Long Point Bay last weekend and the water was still only 38 - 39 degrees in the warmest spots, and 34 in the open water so I know they haven't moved in to spawn yet here. Like you said, maybe by the end of the week or next week. Despite the warm afternoons my back-yard pond has been frozen over every morning for the past week. Cheers, UF

hahaha you guys are awesome! -
Don't worry about those guys Dude - Some beauty fish you got there with your Pops! It's hard to beat time on water with your old man! Some people just strait up have issues. (usually steelheaders lol - just kidding Kemp/Solo/ and the rest of you boys) We're all in this sport because we love it, and personally I like sharing it with others, so please don't let a few "bad apples" spoil the board for you. Cheers, UF

Hey dude, I did a small pond and was surprised at how much is really involved when it comes to building a pond...from what type of pond (lined, or clay bottom) to what type of plants to have it etc. etc. I have a good book but am busy right now and can't dig it up. If I don't get back you in a day or two shoot me a PM and I'll get you some info! Cheers, UF

First Day of Spring Report - On Ice
The Urban Fisherman replied to Leecher's topic in General Discussion
Oh man I hope my daughter still wants to come out with me in ten years! What's your secret dude? Great report man! NOTHING beats time out with your kids! Thanks for the report! Cheers, UF -
what's all this nonsense I keep hearing about some sort of march break?!?! lol Man when I was in college we got close to 2 weeks off. I think I fished for a week and half and then crammed the last couple of days.... Nice fish dude - enjoy march breaks while you can! Cheers, UF
-
right on dude! some nice lookin' fish there. That big female is chunky!
-
Thanks dude - maybe I'll suck it up and try using a float.... if I wasn't fishing with my 2 year old I'd be heading for the back bays and tossing spinners/swimbaits/jerk baits/tubes etc. into 1 - 3 fow but she can't make the 15 minute run to those bays, (still to cold) nor would she be interested in watching me toss lures for very long! lol Cheers, UF

this is awesome guys - Thanks for the tips I'll be picking up some circle hooks and quick strike rigs from Bass Pro Shops while I'm there this weekend. I also picked up a minnow trap (I trapped them as a kid) and think Averie will have a blast going down to the creek to gather up our bait for the day. Quick question, I'd rather just hang the line off the side of the boat so I don't have to worry about keeping an eye on a float as well as my daughter, and so on, but I'll likely be fishing in less than 8 fow (less than 4" of vis) will the fish be to spooky to hit right below the boat? keep 'em comin' cheers, UF
