You inspired me to take the kids down the road to big creek tonight... Like the rest of the gang said... They'll be back!
-
I live about 5 minutes away from the lower stretches of big creek.... Thanks to the time change the kids and I were able to eat supper and run out to check the water levels and get some fresh air before bed time. The flooding has gone down but its still over the banks in some places! Wont be long before all that water pushes the ice out and we'll be in the boat on the bay! Flooded fields along the creek bank Still over the banks in some places Won't be using the bridge anytime soon Pretty high and fast.. Anyways getting the itch something fierce! Cheers, Ryan & tha kidz

I'm on it! Thanks Harrison!Best of luck to the little soldier! -
DUDE! It's an evolutionary mutation!!! So many Lakers have been caught and released from you simcoe anglers that they're starting to develop huge humps on their backs. The reason for the humps is so that they won't be able to fit up through your holes in the ice! lol Nice fishin' bud! Lookin forward to your summertime smallie reports! Cheers, Ryan

BUDDY! I walked into my office this morning and opened the window which faces east...enjoyed a wicked sunrise to the first sounds of singing birds.... then topped it off with my first Solo report of the season. That's right...Spring is here for me! :thumbsup_anim: Thanks dude! Light 'em up this season! Cheers, Ryan

Simon I'm just one of the many great people like yourself who come together to make this thing happen! Without support from sponsors like yourself, the people behind the scenes and the participants involved it wouldn't be the great success that it has been the past couple of years! Thank you VERY much for the offer! :thumbsup_anim: I'll fire you a PM later tonight! Have a great day and thanks again! Cheers, Ryan -
Suddenly the pounding snow, flooded yard and water seeping into my almost finished basement seems like a walk in the park on a warm sunny day! Hoping for the best for everyone in Japan and other affected areas!

Thanks Frank! Lookin' forward to gettin together on the water again! Thanks John! Cancer seems to be closing in on me from every direction man. Another cousin (second cousin) is going in for surgery today for breast cancer. I wish I could do more... but this Fish-a-Thon is a start for me. We'll make sure you have a spot - I'd offer up a spot in my boat but I'm not sure if I'll be fishing, or just running things this year. Looks like you have a great offer already though! Keep in touch my friend! Jacques you're one of the most generous dudes I know!!! I owe you a hundred times over! By the way I'm going to be up your way in August so we'll have to keep in touch around that time! -
Great tutorial for the carp newbies! Glad to see that carp angling is becoming more recognized..... I grew up in northern Ontario, fished all my life and had never heard of carp until moving to London! Can't wait for spring!

We've gone ahead and had a new logo done up by my good friend Richie - Cancer has stricken his family in a big way as of late and when I talked to him about doing up a more polished logo he jumped all over it. We decided to change the name to "Fish-a-Thon for a Cure" as we're trying to raise funds towards finding a CURE for this terrible disease. Thanks again to Dan Bouck for doing the website! www.fish-a-thon.com Please, if you're considering taking part either as a participant or a sponsor let us know! We're really stepping it up a few notches this year, working together with the good people at the Long Point Region Conservation Authority, Norfolk Tourism, the local tackle shops and so on. This is a full family event so please don't hesitate to contact us for more info! Full details are in the works and will be layed out soon! Thanks again and have a great week! Ryan

Dude - Love the greasers!!!! I still think whitey's are ugly as hell though! haha Good Work!

wow - tough crowd...depends on what you're using it for... Obviously it's a far cry from a crucial or compre or anything as such but it certainly has it's place... And to some people it might be the only decent rod within their price point. First off it comes in various sizes and actions, so if you're not using the right action or size rod for what you're doing of course you aren't going to feel anything. Personally I'm planning to get one as a carp rod, as it can certainly handle the power of a big carp, and I don't have to worry to much about beating the rod up while crawling through the bush to get to my fav. carp spots. It's also a good spinnerbait rod, crankbait rod, anything that you're going to cast and retrieve because when you get a hit you're gonna know it. These are just my thoughts, you can take them however you think. Pick the rod up in a store and see how you like the feel. I was a fan of the metal guides on berkly ligtning rods and still use one as my panfish stick, but for the price point, I'm very please with what I see in the Voltaeus. There's going to be a couple in my arsenal this year for sure, right along side my Crucials, Compre's and my little old lightning rod panfish stick. Cheers, Ryan

We have a serious problem in our world...
The Urban Fisherman replied to l2p's topic in General Discussion
Funny story - the last movie I worked on while at Technicolor in Toronto was Sharkwater. I was an assistant editor at the time and we were doing a final polish on the film before the TO film festival. While Rob Stewart (Director / Creator) of the film was in our office we had some technical issues with the computer. So our Video Engineer Klaus walks in and see's a shark on the monitor... I kid you not his first words right in front of Rod were "hey - Have you ever tried Shark Fin Soup? It's Great!" lol :thumbsup_anim: Anyways, enjoyed both films, and I agree, take what you see in the films then do some research of your own. They're trying to put across a good message, but are also sensationalizing it and bending the edit to get their point of view across. Cheers, Ryan -
Good Riddance I say!

Positive...as in negative... as in no spreading cancer or anything like that!
