  1. Toronto over Montreal in 4 I haven't watched a hockey game since last years finals...
  2. haha we pretty much just drank a couple bud lights and shot the crap while Dan and Shawn were visiting... ...but we did screw up 1 measurement.. it was my fault at least we didnt freeze our butts off! i bet the gator bite was on fire as soon as the sun came out!!! haha Thanks Joey! I think we have it figured out... looks like a racoon skull!!! I would have taken it home and added it to the collection but there was still rotting skin on the bottom side and I had to haul both kids out with me... I'm hoping it's still there in a week or two when we go back! Thanks Salty! Growing up in Sudbury - I know all to well about snowy may long weekend trips! haha Averie has been fishing with me since she was 7 days old, fishing the shores of the GTA. I rarely get a chance to fish for "real" without the kids, but I love them and hope that they'll keep comin' with me when they're old enough to hack the big water for a full day of fishing with the old man. Thanks bud! Agreed! Thanks dude! the fish are just a bonus! Thanks Buddy! fire me a pm when it comes time to build yours! I have a crying baby on my lap right now! haha id love to give u some info! yepp agreed!
  3. ok it's far from back lake fishing but Averie and I took Luke out for his first ever walk in fishing trip Saturday morning.. It's a piece of cake for her as its one of our regular ice out crappie spots but it's a good hike for an almost 2 year old who's never walked in the bush before. He toughed it out like a champ and only needed help for maybe 5 minutes and on the bigger hills. The fishing was a complete let down though.... It's a late ice out for us and the water is still way to cold for the fish to be moving into our spots but the kids had a ton of fun and I was just happy to see them smile and to spend some time with them in the outdoors. I have to give him an a for effort though... Even Averie gave up before he did.... And she's a seasoned little angler. We hit up a few spots and eventually gave up and had a snack... Averie decided she wanted to try and climb the steep part of the hill on the way out... Thinking she'd never even come close to making it to the dangerous part I let her try... Then she proved me wrong and I haven't heard the end of it from Mom and grandma since haha I'm proud of her On the way out we took some nature shots... Any idea what this creature was? The kid found this and said "look Dad I found a heart in nature" . Played with the macro... And that was our fishing... No fish but lots of fun.... They'll be in there in a couple weeks and we'll be back. Spent the rest of my weekend working on a new dog house and kennel for the k9's - I would have gotten it all finished but one of my buddies screwed up a critical measurement.... I wont name names but his handle on here is Dan Bouck. lol Anyways that's it for another weekend! Until next Saturday - have a good week folks! Cheers, Ryan, Averie and now Luke
  4. I'm the proudest Dad in the world but I'm a truck guy through and through brother! I don't think I'd get to far down farmer Jack's mud trail across the road with a minivan, ( yes his name is Jack haha he's a cow farmer and my kids call him Granpa Jack) or be able to drive anywhere after a good snow storm considering I live 25 minutes from the nearest town and don't see a plow until well after everybody else. I completely see the benefits of owning a minivan - my brother just bought a nice one, but we're a single vehicle family and I couldn't go without 4WD. Just the way I am... And I only Paid 9 grand for it as well..... If I didn't live the country lifestyle, and was still back in the big smoke id probably be driving a Dodge Caravan... Reluctantly... Anyways - awesome ride again Terry - enjoy it!
  5. I was going to ask when he'd be getting his first pin! ;o)
  6. Understand %100 - I had no choice but to get a large SUV or a minivan.... I'm just not a minivan kind of guy.... We live out in the country to... I like to build things and haul stuff so SUV it was! Plus thy don't really get around to plowing the roads around here and I'd rather be the guy pulling ppl out than to be the guy calling for help!
  7. Awesome bud! I love the reports with the little ones! You'll have some guaranteed partners for years to come man... I love the easy location to... I dragged the kids way back in the bush today for a skunkin' Enjoy them man! Cheers, Ryan
  8. Nice ride Terry - I just bought an 04 durango with the hemi - she chugs gas for sure but it fits all three car seats side by side and still has room for grandma and grandpa in the third row... Pulls mu utility trailer full of scrap without batting an eye and doesn't even know it's towing my little boat. Good deal! Cheers
  9. That's awesome! Haha love the jeep to! I had an '89 yj all tricked out back in highschool! You know before I had 3 kids! Hehe as soon as my little monsters grow up I'm going to get another one! Good work! Cheers, Ryan
  10. I'm not a musky guy but my bet is that most hardcore musky guys would be worried about the fish surviving after being dragged up out of colder deeper water in a hurry.... could be completely wrong but I've seen eyes pop strait out of smallies in super deep water.
  11. Thanks dude! haha the kids love bein' hosed down anyways! So far it hasn't been bad Irish, but they're little and we change the litter daily or every second day.... We're building a coop for the back-yard similar to this... I can get one of those senko rings and loop it around their ankles - hopefully they can swim! ha sorry Nipfisher - we have two labs... Mom is the black one and her daughter is our golden lab cross... we don't live ON a farm, but are pretty close to it... this is our back-yard.... we're building a coop similar to the one in the above photo - most of the yote's in the area are down towards longpoint - but we have wild dogs (stray groups) and lots of racoons! Hopefully our dogs will help keep the predators at bay.
  12. Lol Don't kid yourself... I saw a largemouth bass take down a jevenile duck last summer! Haha imagine what a big ski could eat.... Thanks Pete and have a good one!
  13. I thought some of you guys might enjoy our new family project.....Averie got the idea that she'd like to try raising chickens (from her grandpa) but I figured it might be fun, we'd get some free eggs....or an organically grown thanksgiving dinner! Also, I figured since I do everything for the dogs maybe the kids could learn a little responsibility and help with taking care of them.... So anyways, we picked up 7 chicks a couple of weeks ago - the damn things grow like weeds and already had to be moved out of their plastic bin. Ginny wasn't to excited to see the giant makeshift brooder taking up a good portion of her laundry room! setting up food and water Luke with a day old Golden Phoenix Averie with a baby chick Luke trying to kiss the chicken haha The chicken guard dog! Our black lab was a Duck dog before we got her so she tries to eat them! Their new brooder in Ginny's laundry room! ;o) The group of them at a few weeks old.. Barred Rock, Buff Rocks, Partridge Rocks and 2 Golden Phoenix chicks This guy is my buddy - we think he might be a rooster This is Luke's favourite... which has taken a liking to flying..it got out of the brooder today Anyways, so far so good.... my black lab just about ate one of them so she's got to be kept at a distance, but aside from that they're pretty easy to take care of. Just make sure they have clean water and food and that they have enough heat from the lamp and they're good to go. We're building a coop in the coming weeks and as soon as it's warm enough - outside they go. If it doesn't work out - I'll be selling top quality chicken feathers for you fly tying guys! haha Cheers, Ryan
  14. awesome! love it when the kids get involved!
  15. No votes for Powerbait Heavyweight Sinkworms?!? They're hands down my favorite... I love senko's but the price point is killer along with the fact that they fall apart on one or two bites... The sinkworms last much longer for me, and catch just as many fish. I like the sound of the Strike King Zero's though...I'll have to give them a shot this year as well.
  16. Those big ugly beasts are on my bucket list for sure! Keep the pix comin! Awesome!
  17. Always a pleasure bud...love the brownie and the trail shot! hah cheers, Ryan
  18. $153.00 is what they're charging at Hully Gully in London just for the sake of a price range... I believe they said that includes all the oils, filters and new spark plugs... I thought changing the plugs seemed kinda weird if they're already in working order....
  19. nice shootin' buddy! Keep in up!
  20. This saturday I'm going to take the kids out for some pannies!
  21. Frankie! - You bringing Juli and the boys out the FOF LIVE? ps. My local carp spots are a mid-summer thing! The only solid spring spots I have are downtown London! Loaded with carp and suckers t'il your arms fall off... I've been meaning to bring Averie down there for a few years now.
  22. Babysitter? I thought you were married? haha
