Wicked!

Welcome to OFC dude!

Yeah it's fishing news, but people always post on the main forum about how much the leafs suck and nobody says anything about that so I don't see a problem with somebody posting the results of a Fishing tournament on the main discussion page of this wonderful fishing forum! Good for G - he deserves it, and now he can swing for the fences the rest of the season because he's in the classic no matter what! Cheers, Ryan

Buddy these things infest my house and yard every year! They're relentless - thank for post, now I know what they are!

The Only Man In The World (Report - Lots of Pics)
The Urban Fisherman replied to Rich's topic in General Discussion
Awesome buddy! Very jealous! To bad there were no big giant slabs but I'd take a day like that any day of the week! -
For the past three years Averie and I have enjoyed what I consider one of the best bluegill fisheries you can find in Ontario. From ice-out to ice-up we absolutely hammer on these 8 to 12 inch aggressive, hard fighting (for their size) tasty little fish, and occasionally get into some good crappie and rock bass that are mixed in the school as well. Up until now, we've spent most of our ice fishing targeting perch either on Longpoint Bay, or on our local pond in 25+ FOW. If we can't get the perch to bite, I usually take her to her Goby hole just to keep her interested in the sport. Now, after having a tough perch bite yesterday, I've decided I'd like to do some exploring and see if we can find some of our bluegill during the hardwater season. I'm sure if we were able to dial them in like we can in the summer we'd have an ice fishing heaven right on our doorstep! So my question is, during the winter of course.... Where, When and Why? I've got the baits covered, just need to find the fish! Cheers, Ryan & Averie

you caught one more than I did Geoff! Even Averie caught some gobies! Cheers, Ryan

Nice Lakers buddy! I miss those slimy old dogs... Grew up ice fishing them on Lake Wanapetei... It's good to see that even a seasoned angler such as yourself takes a hit from time to time though! haha Cheers, Ryan

Don't let him kid you he spent a little time in the hut with Averie and I! -
This report has been FOUR MONTHS in the making.... And I wish it turned out a little better. Made plans with a bunch of great OFC'ers and good friends to hit my local pond for some panfish this weekend. Last week Rich (bbr) aka slim 2.0 hammered them real good so I had high hopes. I haven't done a serious day of fishing since the fish a thon over 4 months ago so I was stolked to get out... Picked up Rich in simcoe at 6:30 headed to st.williams for minnows then home to get averie and our gear and off to the lake to meet up with Frank and Juli. Long story short, I very rarely get skunked here but it has to happen to all of us! haha it was great to get outside with Averie and some really great people regardless of our results! Rich got a few good perch right off the bat and some oos largies then it shut down!. We marked fish all day but couldn't get them to commit..... Normally we'd run and gun a bunch more but it was tough getting around today! 2 funny things: 1) my little battery quit working for my hummingbird so I decided to drag my big dep cycle out.... HORRIBLE idea... Frigging heavy 2) Frank is like 6'2" - big strong guy and it was his lovely little lady who helped me drag the hut around all day! lol Thanks Juli! And thanks to frank for pulling Averie around a little! Slow bite meant Averie had to rough it with strawberries and her favorite movie, Jurassic park This was the sight all day... Fish on the graph and no takers Picture didn't turn out to well but Juli and Frank workin it! Averie bugged me to take her to our goby spot so she could lay a beating on them for a bit! Rich with a monster OOS largie Rich should chime in with a perch pic at some point... Good work - lucky to out fish me..... Again. Frank I never showed you my transducer setup so here's some pics... Thanks for com in out guys! Hope to see you again soon! Cheers, Ryan

nice perch buddy! We're heading out in the morning - hopefully we get into some fish like that! Cheers, Ryan

wow that's awesome!!!! Very jealous...lovin' the pics to... looks a little dangerous down there at this time of year? Thanks for hte report! Cheers, Ryan

agreed... my 20HP 4 stroke Electric start Yammy never fails and I run it while there's still chunks of ice floating around and the only launch that isn't iced up is the one that's on Big Creek on Long Point bay
-
I'll have mine out on Sunday Dano - so if the kids get cold they can warm up in it. I know if the fishing is slow Averie will likely watch a movie while she fishes! lol Talk about roughin' it!

If I was spending that kind of money I'd test drive it before buying it... just like buying a car/truck in my opinion. I've been in a 17.5 G3 and absolutely loved the ride, but when I got into the slightly larger version of the same boat with the full windshield it wasn't my cup of tea. Prior to that I thought I would have liked having the full windshield. Giving each one a quick test drive might just make it a no brainer for you.... Good Luck!

Like Rich said the little largies are always active in there....I'm not sure if it's just because their active or that there's so many small fish in there but they can be a pain when you're ice fishing for sure. As for the poachers, please drop the CO's a call if you see them out and poaching, or even take a picture of their activity. It's a small body of water, and poaching can really hurt the lake. There's a FALSE rumor going around my area that you're allowed to keep the trout because their stocked fish. The resident brown population is especially sensitive during late fall and winter and I'd hate to see that fishery take a hit. Cheers, Ryan

Nice job Buddy! Hopefully our day is more like that..... And less like this day out there.... haha Can't wait to get out! Cheers, Ryan

Hey buddy don't sweat it! This is my busy time of year so I don't even get to surf OFC often...... Which means I don't post often either.... So when I post ice fishing reports I don't get many replies... But in the summer when I have time to post on other ppls threads I get all sorts of replies from people... Usually those who I've posted replies to recently... Just the way it goes....
