hahaha - Gotta love them to death regardless as to weather they were planned or not man. Averie was my biggest so called "mistake" when I was still in university and she turned out to be the best thing that ever happened to me! We beat the birth control odds TWICE - after the doc told me I was to young to get fixed.... they better dang well fix me now! lol hah Yeah I see one all the time, except it's usually about 16 inches long, pink, and I'm always on the wrong side of the rod taking little fish off the hook! lol I'd have to disagree and say that you'd likely get the clearest picture using a Humminbird Side imaging unit Terry! hahaha Thanks man - have a good one! Thanks dude! Merci Mon Ami! Some day I'll get the whole family up your way for a visit! Looks like it's going to be a little while now that there's a little one on the way though! Thanks Buster!

Thanks Gerritt! haha Thanks Mike! I think she'll make it through ok... first few months are usually the worst.. Thanks Pigeon - I'm always told they grow up so fast, so I figure I'll have plenty of time to fish without them when they're up and gone from the house.. or would rather hang out with their friends... Thanks Grimace - we did it with Luke because they couldn't figure out if he was a boy or girl with the traditional ultrasound... I think we'll save the money this time around seeing as we know she's a girl and buy her something nice instead! hahaha Mike - Ginny liked your 5 hole comment! that's funny stuff. Thanks buddy! Congrats Bri! Thanks for taking the time to post a picture - march can't come soon enough for either of us I'm sure... Thanks Mercman!

Well Ginny and I had little Averie when we were still in university! Turns out they weren't lying about birth control only being 99% safe. Then we had Luke on purpose! Then you think we'd have learnt our lesson... Ginny went back on birth control but I guess we should have been more careful.... Averies future baby sister is due in march.... As if I wasn't already busy enough! lol ah well, just another fishin buddy! Thumbs up! The punisher shot... Had to show off my future daughter! Cheers, Ryan

NF - Christmas Music
The Urban Fisherman replied to The Urban Fisherman's topic in General Discussion
Good Call Pigeon! Thanks. lol we don't really have much in the way of "malls" around here! We hit up the grocery store and the pharmacy - I can only imagine what the malls are like... I love Christmas but I think it takes away from it a little if you're surrounded by it for a month and half... I'm ok with any time in December though... -
I fear that she will out-fish me for years to come buddy! She actually prefers the little ones! lol She likes "baby fishies".. It sure was nice and I was happy just to get out with the kids for some fresh air... Glad to hear Irish - That's why I post! Thanks Carole! You're the man Jacques - to kind in every way! And thanks for the heads up on my inbox - I wondered what was up with the sudden shortage of messages! lol Thanks Harrison! Have a great week folks! Ryan

Good Mornin' OFC. This weekend we were out and about and I couldn't believe how many stores are all geared up for Christmas! They're still clearing out their Halloween stuff! lol It got me thinkin' though..... My Christmas music libraby sucks! What are your favourite songs and by who? I'd like to start buying some decent tunes for the kids to enjoy next month! Have a great week! Ryan

Sweet dude! Averie and I took a few "keepers" home for a snack last night also... But they were all borderline! lol nice to see you got out bud!

With the nice weather we've been having I'd hopped to get out in the boat today... but, as is usually the case there was just to much to get done around the house... On the up-side, Averie and I managed to sneak out for an hour while Mom and Luke were having an afternoon nap... here's a photo report of our day.... Went outside with the dogs for their morning run.... talk about vicious and took a few minutes to enjoy a frosty morning... The farmer behind us still hasn't picked his corn... found these... mole hills? Dogs wore themselves out so in we went... Ran to town and got all kinds of fun stuff like diapers and food.. lol then did house and yard chores until Averie and I snuck out for some shore action... tried the pier in Rowan first.. nadda so we peaced out... then we hit up long point and caught all kinds of dink fish but had some fun... double hold.. lol my giant.. caught a bunch of these... even got a few double headers.. Eventually the kid got cold hands so we called it a day, had supper and lit our Christmas lights.... albeit a little early!

My great Aunt Bee, or Grandmother depending on how you want to look at it. (she unofficially adopted my mom - long story) Anyways, she was a young girl in Holland during the war and her father was part of an underground group that took in mostly Canadian soldiers with the odd American or British soldier, hiding them until they could get back to safety. One time a Canadian plane went down near their farm and her Dad hid the soldier in a pile of hay, then ran across to the other side of his field so when the Germans showed up they'd poke around in the wrong hay bales. She has all kinds of stories about the war and the men that they helped along the way. She told me once a couple of German soldiers wanted her dad to give them his bike. He told them he didn't have a bike, but when they found it in one of the barns and they were going to shoot him for lying. One of the soldiers must have had a heart, because he stopped the guy with the gun. Eventually I believe her dad, who was fairly well off lost most of what he had owned and ended up moving the family to Canada. Shortly after establishing themselves here she fell in love with a German/Canadian man and married him. Her dad was pretty upset.. but my Uncle Harvey is the sweetest man alive! Anyways, that's my association with the war. I've got more stories but have to get goin'! Remember those who fought, and the other heroes we don't hear about, like my Aunt Bee's Dad who took in many Canadian soldiers during that time. Cheers, Ryan

2 Labs 7 year old named Sheba 10 months old named Princess (name credit goes to my 4 year old daughter) 3 Kids 4 year old 1.5 Year old And a bun in the oven! lol Sometimes the dogs can be a pain in the but then again so can my kids and I love them more than the world! Labs are all around great dogs, especially if you have the time to walk them and train them properly! It's been a bit o a hurdle for us and the puppy but we've got a fairly busy household. Lucky for us, and the dogs we live in the country and they have an entire farmers field at their disposal in our back yard! Cheers, Ryan

I would love for one of you guys to feel my pain...errrr uhhh excitement... and have a chance at winning this little contest they're putting on! Seriously, I'm positive it'll be lots of fun, and you might just learn a thing or two about fishing.... but mostly it'll just be lots of fun! haha I'll paste the details link below... Good Luck, Ryan http://factsoffishing.com/blog/dave-mercer/i-want-to-take-20000-facebookers-fishing/

NF - getting soot off of brick?
The Urban Fisherman replied to The Urban Fisherman's topic in General Discussion
That was my initial thought Brian - but I figured I might as well ask first! Thanks Merc - the electric drill would make it a lot easier... but I don't want to make to much of a mess all over my living room with the dust... I'll give this a try this afternoon.... I'm going to try CLR first just because they have it at my local "buy everything" store... lol I live in the country so I can pick up a frozen pizza, rent a movie, grab some CLR and buy myself a 6 pack to keep me happy while I work! If that doesn't work I'll send my mother-in-law into town for me Yeah I don't mind the light bit above where the insert goes but the thick black stuff doesn't look nice in person at all! Thanks Guys I'll keep you updated once the new one is in place! Cheers, Ryan -
Hey OFC! I'll try to keep this short and sweet seeing as it's a non-fishing thread. My insurance decided they didn't want to cover my home for fire anymore because my old school wood fireplace didn't meet today's codes. On the plus side we had an energy audit a few months back and qualified for $650 towards a new high efficiency gas insert. So I pulled the old wood face-plate and doors off today to make room for the gas insert that's getting installed this week and the brick behind it is completely covered in soot! Does anybody know any tricks for cleaning this off? Preferably some way that isn't to insanely messy? haha Anyways, just "fishing" for some advice! Here's the old wood fireplace going full force.... And the current state... Thanks again guys! Cheers, Ryan

You're killin' me man! Don't you ever fish on weekends! Good Work!
