I get out more frequently in the winter, but for shorter periods of time. I don't fish Simcoe at all from boat, but its hard to turn down ice fishing 15 minutes from home! I'll take off on a Saturday morning, can fish for a few hours and still be home by noon to help the wife out. Hard to do the same when you're dragging a boat out to the Kawarthas and back

thanks for posting those settings Scugog, i was actually going to get in touch with you about optimal settings so the timing of this is good. Danbob,as far as electrical interference, it can really do a number. I had to reroute the wiring on my last fishfinder because interference made it non-usable.

have a buddy who has a charter booked on LSC tomorrow, sounds like the guide might be calling it off due to conditions being poor. Either way, I'm sure these guys will find a way to enjoy themselves

...now there's a reason to protest! Unfortunately the clowns I saw interviewed talked nothing of these things...it was more about "I want to have what the 1% have"...and I want the government to give it to me because I'm too busy sleeping in this park hanging out with my friends for a few days

...bingo. That's why I started this thread in the first place. After watching a few people get interviewed I realized I was watching a bunch of lazy people who would rather complain and protest than go out there and work for it. Couldn't even coherently describe their cause or goals. I'm not saying that's true for all the protesters, just the one's they interviewed! If you go out there and work your hardest, making yourself irreplaceable, you will be rewarded. Show up early, stay late, don't complain and keep your nose clean - at a minimum you will lead a comfortable life (financially). The problem is, most people nowadays see how good the previous generation had it and they want it immediately. They never saw the hard work that generation put in to get where they are. They want the lifestyle now, instead of putting in your time, working your way up, getting rewarded, and most importantly, being thankful for what you have, rather than worrying what the other guy's got

I'm confused by these protests. People complaining about inequality etc. If they spent these days working rather than loitering, smoking, hanging out in parks etc wouldn't they have more money, and then there would be less inequality because they earned more?

I've caught a couple on topwater baits, but they were all released, thought of eating it never entered my mind

Never caught or even seen a trout in person, I think I heard something about a fish being 45 inches...is that true? Had no idea trout got that long

refers to a debate we had a few months back when the Leafs signed him. Some of us felt he was too injury prone, others felt he had an unfair label as fragile
