  1. haha that would have been hilarious. I'll admit the thought of being set adrift certainly entered my mind when we went to Lefroy yesterday. Winds were supposed to be from the west at 40 kms. Turns out they weren't and we didn't have to make a run for it
  2. lots of toppings can be substituted, but for me onions are a must
  3. I was outside playing hockey with the kids in the driveway and you could actually hear the wind coming...10 seconds of that and it was "Dad lets go inside"
  4. wow and I've heard so many people talk about Chautauqua musky fishing I deliberately don't go there!
  5. think of the stupid sunfish at the end of the dock who will get caught over and over and over in a matter of minutes. Now picture a million tiny perch under your feet doing the same thing
  6. If you're looking for a place to catch a million dink perch this is the place to be. We couldn't keep them off the line yesterday. Ice was around 3.5 to 4 inches where we were (30 fow). Very few worthy of keeping (I kept none), my partner kept 8.
  7. I heard 4 inches yesterday but apparently warm weather coming...save it for next year!
  8. zoinks! what a beast
  9. anyone know how the ice thickness is in this area?
  10. you guys are hardcore. 2 or 3 hours of non stop perch is about all I can handle
  11. you call that 2nd ramp toast? I call that 10 minutes chucking the anchor from the bow to clear a path to the open water!
  12. ...there you go...drag bottom and see what you get!
  13. nice report. Still waiting for the wife to tell me to go fishing some day...I'll admit, if that day ever comes I'll be VERY suspicious!
  14. what's an OOD? But on a totally unrelated manner I would suggest looking at Ontario out of Doors
  15. Words to live by, and I'm not speaking specifically about the situation being discussed here. So many people complain in the workplace about their job. Stop complaining and go find something better!...or maybe you're actually the problem and the workplace really isn't that bad!
  16. congrats on the new boat but from this side of the keyboard didn't sound like an easy decision. I think at one point it was being called an agonizing decision. Either way, it sure feels good once you've made the plunge, hope you enjoy it for many years!
  17. ...maybe its LED and you are using a Mac
  18. there's the problem. People who work now pretty much have their hands tied by the morons that started it. What I can't understand is why every freakin street needs to change names because it goes around a bend. Other than the goofy roads and trying to figure out how to get around without a gps Barrie is a great spot
  19. when you don't have to drill any extra holes its a good day
  20. We are very happy living in Barrie. When I moved here 7 years ago the front page news was about some guy who got his bike stolen...that will tell you 2 things - safe place to live, and the local newspaper is crap! Can't help you with the commute, as I moved here for work. That's the way to go! No terrible commute, close to Kawarthas and muskokas
  21. and many people in this world take their own lives. The fact that a couple of tough guys do it in the same year I believe is purely coincidental, nothing to do with the job. If it had to do with the job these guys would have been killing themselves years ago
  22. has it been confirmed that Belak committed suicide? I had heard a different tale of the events
  23. right on what a fish!
  24. not a fan of the pres but that was good. I like it when politicians show they are real people
  25. very neat...or just eat em up raw like I do
