  1. DY-NO-MITE...
  2. Thanks I feel better. Now to wheel it into position before the snow makes it impossible. Its starting to come down now!
  3. you "can" do it, but it might not be ethical or legal. Has that stopped people before? If someone gave me $20 cash and asked me to send it to the Cancer Society I absolutely "could" tell them to send me the receipt, it just wouldn't be right
  4. woohoo it worked. Apparantly D and F don't play nice together
  5. so here's the explanation just for fun I'm going to try it again. I believe the initials were D and F put together, lets try dumb ass
  6. I do have a boat cover, and then was going to put a blue tarp over that. The area I'm storing it (east side of house) should be sheltered from snowfall from overhead (wind typically from the west) so I don't think it would get much direct snowfall. With winds swirling around though I would expect snow to accumulate around the tires, that's why I thought I might remove at least one of the wheels (the wheel that would be furthest from the shelter of the house). I have changed the lower unit oil already. Will be interesting. Have had boats for 25 years, this will be the first time storing out of doors
  7. sometimes the computer has a brain of its own. I once sent a pm to Scugog about a fishfinder, and the model had a short form in it, the computer changed that short form into the word "dumbass", so in my first pm to the guy I ended up inadvertently calling him a dumbass! I can't believe he even replied, although if I remember correctly he did reply with "Are you calling me a dumbass?"
  8. ...and another one joins the ranks
  9. I haven't seen their cottages, but Lakair Lodge up on the West arm of Nipissing has always been good to OFC'ers
  10. haven't seen it yet but now I'm curious, will keep an eye out for it. Forrest Gump's buddy that wanted the shrimp boat wasn't the brightest either as I recall, I guess the director's knew something we didn't
  11. great report and some fantastic fish! I love Cliff's expression in the third photo..kinda like "If you take that picture I'm gonna...(fill in blank with some form of abuse of fellow fisherman)"
  12. another great day in Barrie...no snow yet, the snowblower is still covered in mothballs from last season
  13. that was part 2 of my rational!
  14. once I have the boat where I want it and I trim the motor down was going to yank out the battery and keep it in the garage. Then I'll throw the tarp on it, and was going to jack it up and rest it on 2x4's. Was thinking about possibly pulling the wheels off as well, and maybe just wrapping the exposed axle in a garbage bag? Is it a bad idea to take the wheels off? I just didn't want them in the snow all winter
  15. very unfortunate news. I hadn't heard about the headaches, I thought it was just the "lower body injury" from a collision with team-mate
  16. a few years back there was a lady here in Barrie (blond, real bad skin)who would always catch you at the gas station with a sad story...had to see her dying mother in sudbury blah blah blah...gave her $10 the first time. Couple of weeks later she approaches me again, starts into the same story. I cut her off, told her I wasn't going to give her any more cash, but if she was willing to get on the next Sudbury bound bus I would buy the ticket...man did she ever curse and swear at me! Walked away really foul mouthed, made me truly regret giving her the first $10
  17. I had thought of this, but then I also thought why is there such a product as gas line antifreeze in the first place? For gullible suckers like me? My car on a daily basis gets heated up, and usually stored in the garage. The boat will be exposed to nonstop really cold temps. Either way, I'm glad what I'm hearing because I really didn't want to turn on the water again, fill up the hose again, get the muffs again etc
  18. I've been thinking about the condensation issue and my plan was to put the boat around the side of the house that gets almost no sunlight (only first thing in am when its bloody freezing anyways). Is it wise to stretch the old blue tarp over the top of the outboard or leave the motor entirely uncovered?
  19. Going to try outdoor storage for the first time. Boat is ready to go, just need to tarp it up. One thing I didn't do is put antifreeze in the gas (only did stabilizer and ran it through). Could lines in the motor burst? I'm in Barrie so -10 is normal but -25 will definitely happen a few times as well
  20. wow 96, I would have guessed he died long ago. Hopefully they were a good, full 96 for the Colonel
  21. that guy can draw really really fast...with his petroleum based marker
  22. not what I was expecting but thanks for the read
  23. haha going to have to use that one on the in-laws. I love jokes where you can insult groups of people all at once, saves me time from picking on people individually
  24. wow good memory ehg. I'll see if I can track down the picture later tonight. Gorgeous little fish. I know for years when we'd get together nobody got a dang thing, and finally one year 2 or 3 got caught, I think Adam got a 50? Then there was the year Wayne had to launch his giant boat first to break the ice at the marina. Either way, a 30% success rate was too depressing for me so I took the year off from Niagara. 10 years ago I used to do pretty good down there, but the last 4 or 5 haven't been good
  25. ...ya, gotta hate it when that happens. Dang pesky muskies
