Actually I'm hoping for a southernly wind (in port dalhousie) but a northernly wind wouldn't be bad as I can easily change it to bronte and I'll end up going more often anyways.

Try using roe or brightly coloured flies instead. You'll also have a much better chance chucking spoons at the mouth.
