1. Was it an 13' okuma rod with a greys buick float reel?
2. Nice long fish, not very fat though considering winter's coming up.
3. Yup, very fat fish. I should've let him eat the whole bass the first time. LOL
4. Definitely a steely, yes they have light mouths.
5. Oh I know it's just a horrible knot to have to tie.
6. Yup they are beautiful animals! I think Joey is on contract from blacks! LOL
7. I've found it quite simple, the one you don't want to have to tie is the nail knot.
8. I'll join them directly, I can't remember the name but it's basically two overhand knots that slide together, I'm sure someone will know the name.
9. Still looks like a fun morning, Ralphie is adorable!
10. Ya, definitely good for that lake, but I'm sure that there is bigger.
11. Let's try this, whoever posts the hundredth and first post gets a brook trout skunk for life!
12. Yesterday Redpearl and I went out to one of my favourite local lakes for some pike in my canoe. This lake is only about an acre big and so it receives very little pressure compared to some lakes like Wilcox. The main fish in this lake would be bass, pike and big crappie, but of course there are pumpkinseed, bluegill and some rockbass as well. On this day we both felt like using bait instead of casting all day, which was probably a good idea because it was pretty cold starting out. At first we just started catching small bass, but then I flipped a jig and minnow under a dock when out of nowhere a pike came out and turned on it, well I missed him but wasn't going to let him get away, I dropped it down again and again he makes a big commotion, turns on it and I land him.

It was very slow after this, so we headed over to the other sid of the lake, it's a shallow flat with a large drop next to it, perfect ambush spot. Well I ask redpearl to hand me a minnow and of course he hands me the absolute smallest minnow we have (less then an inch) so I cast it to the flat and it goes down, just a little bass, but as I'm reeling it in, my rod just bends over, and I manage to reel in a giant pike who grabbed that little bass, but of course he let go just after we saw him.

Undiscouraged Redpearl took his largest treble and the largest minnow we had under my pike float and cast it to where we saw the fish, and sure enough slowly the float goes down, he waits a few seconds and then gives it a hard set, and we land in my fish! For both of us this was a pb, a shared pb. It measured 25" I know that 25" isn't that big for most of you but keep in mind that this lake really is more like a very small pond. Red ate it last night and hs a steak waiting for me in the freezer.

13. I don't know, yes he knows his stuff but it's hard to replace that veteran personality of Terry.
14. I think you just helped me book a fall trip.
15. That makes sense C2F cause the guys that I was mentioning with the pete spoon were using a sort of purple light that was probably UV.
16. Thanks hooked, they were probably recharging about every 20 casts and it just looked like they were casting light bulbs.
17. I don't know if you guys noticed but what's with the mouths on these fish? Look at how light they are...
18. Alright, that's the kind of thing I was looking for, do you know where I can get some? they only sell the trolling models at sail and they don't have them at all at BPS?
