  1. hey gang I'm looking to get out for some pike soon, and have a trip to the 1000 islands area (out of Gananoque) planned for June so I've been gathering some gear to target pike. I alread have some x-raps and williams spoons and I just grabbed some more gear (pic attached). I was wondering if you guys have any other recommendations on gear to grab. Lure recommendations and also... probably more importantly, landing and handling equipment. this is some of the stuff I just bought the gear i just bought thanks alot ryan
  2. we have a houseboat booked for a week out of Gananoque hoping to get my first musky
  3. third line/bronte region eh? thats my neck of the woods...i'm at third and rebecca...right by hopedale i work alot, but try and get out as often as i can, shoot me a pm and we can figure something out sometime im sure
  4. i'll second the GM KLEENS product, they have 2, one is an aerosol can and you spray it in the intake of the motor, and one is a liquid that you suck up through a vacuum line. its alot like seafoam but i've found it works better, i use it on anything with a motor. you use about half to 2/3 of the product, a little at a time revving the motor a bit above idle then when the bottle is almost gone suck it up until the engine stalls out. wait 20 mins or so and fire up the motor... be outside somewhere as it'll smoke.... A LOT!!!!! should eliminate any pinging, poor performance etc. i found the motor will be a bit more powerful and fuel consumption gets a bit better (in these days, every bit helps)
  5. size 11 may be common enough that they sell a whole lot of em, other sizes they may be trying to clear out?? just a guess, no clue really
  6. I heard on the radio today that saturday is the last day huts can be out on lake simcoe. dunno if anyone else has posted a reminder so i figured i would. with the warmer weather coming it may be an idea not to risk it and get em off before that date either way, be safe folks....looks like we're getting a melt in the next few days watch the ice! ryan
  7. im gonna head down for sunday. its the only day i can get down for the largemouth bass seminar (looks like its my cousin who's doing the seminar) hope to pick up a baitcast setup too, need something for bass/pike, nice to hear there's some deals ryan
  8. i hear alot of commercials for a company called kinetico (catchy little jingle too heh) on the radio never used them before so i cant say, but its another place to look into ryan
  9. congrats, never really got into that stuff other than the doing it to be "cool" had an uncle who smoked 3 packs/day, quit cold turkey and hasnt looked back sure it takes alot of willpower
  10. the dodge vans are bad for transmissions as well if you get one, do regular fluid/filter changes, and only use the chrysler specific fluids others claim to be compatible, but i've seen too many go bad using it
  11. im booking a site at emily pp again this yr, had a good time there last time i went some of the sites have quite a slope to them, its not the most secluded of parks, but the swiiming was okay, and the fishing was decent (better this yr now that i wont be stranded on shore hopefully) just slightly NE of peterborough if i remember right, near Omemee it was a 2hr drive for us, but im out in oakville, actually, about 5 mins from bronte park...took a drive thru there and couldnt really imagine stayin there heh, looks like the field near my parents house

  13. gotta agree with the astro/safari vans my father has one that has hauled all his tools and parts for the last almost ten yrs, and almost 700k km on it with no engine or trans problems the last couple yrs of them had a heavier duty suspension, 6 bolt wheels and 4 wheel disc brakes
  14. looks like the leafs got more for hal gill than mtl did for huet...wow price seems to play better in the big leagues than he does with the hamilton bulldogs. been to a few bulldogs games when price has been in net, looked WAY sharper playing with the canadiens. theres alot to be said for experience in dealing with pressure when it comes to the playoffs we'll see how it turns out
  15. he's going on tour. gonna be in toronto later on this yr. i'm sure it'll be more exciting
  16. Hi, It looks like I'm gonna be buying a boat off of a buddy of mine. It is a 12' boat with a 9.9 motor on the back. I was wondering what sort of registration and licensing I need for me to be legal on the water. I'm sure I need the operators card (i can take that test online right?) but what about the boat itself? and the trailer? is there ownerships for boats this small? how do i go about switching license plates and all of that for the trailer? this is my first boat purchase so i'm pretty clueless when it comes to this stuff. thanks in advance! looking forward to being on the water, Ryan
  17. sorry about your loss my condolences
  18. if ywe keep buying it at this price, why would they lower it?
  19. i lived there in 2001 for about a yr, it was great. i lived right off of dunlop...steps to the lake. lots of opportunity within a hr or so as well. the only problem i found was traffic. it seemed to take forever to get across town at any time of the day. i guess the city is just growing way faster than the roads/infrastructure can handle. other than that, it was great.
  20. i thought that purchases shipped to ontario were charged pst? if i buy something from another province, i dont pay pst? sweet
  21. any time there's a leafs game they have a special with a jug of beer and a platter of wings....just an idea if you're looking for a special on a different night. and you get to watch the leafs lose!
  22. my father has a 2000 safari, had the same problem and the fix was a brakelight switch...at the base of the brake pedal. I don't know what it cost to fix...a buddy had one in his toolbox
  23. around town driving... use drive highway driving... use od, keeps the rpm down and increases mileage towing/hauling or heavy loads.... stay in drive, OD will overheat the transmission and cause damage
