  2. if you're looking for real world experience with people towing things they shouldnt be, sit on the side of the 400 on a long weekend.
  3. Hey, I'll be up at sturgeon lake for a few days starting on friday aroudn the long beach area. does anyone know what the water temperatures are like so far? any input would be great ryan
  4. you're right that the refrigerant in most current cars (r-134a) doesnt pollute/deplete ozone like r12 did, but it still does both of those things, to a lesser extent. r-134a isnt the same as what is in the cans they sell at the store and anyone buying or selling it has to have an ODP card.
  5. I've stayed there only once before in the past, but I will be there in one week for a few days (monday through Canada day) When I was there the first time we stayed at the "hill campground". If if i remember correctly we stayed at site 137. There was quite a slope to the site and there wasn't much shade most of the day. There was a water tap on the site and it was only a couple of minutes to walk to either the comfort station or the beach. Next week we'll be staying at site 110 which is also on the hill campground(I'm pretty sure) That site is a bit closer to the comfort station and is pretty much directly on the beach (theres a small path through 3 feet of bushes and then you'r e on the beach right next to your site. There is also a water tap a site or two away. There seemed to be plenty of shade and the firepit/picnic table were set towards the back of the site. It's right on a corner of a couple of roads, and on the way to the beach so there will probably be some traffic by it, but its pretty deep so with the car and tent there, it shouldnt be too bad. Here's the map of the park from the campgrounds website. Emily Campsites If you want me to check out any sites specifically pm me and I'll try to remember to check em out. If I'm back before you plan on going that is. Ryan
  6. if the indoor/outdoor workers in toronto strike, you wont be getting to the islands anyways. i believe the ferrys to the islands are worked by the city employees. I'd take a look online, or call them in advance before driving an hour or so to get there. ryan
  7. you do realize those 12 dollar cans at partsouce or crappy tire are a hydrocarbon based refrigerant. propane/butane etc. they dont work as well, and they're pretty explosive if they leak and find any source of ignition under your hood.
  8. lake ontario has a lot of shoreline...any more specifics? you can fish around most marinas/piers etc.
  9. google for the grand river conservation authority website...and the mnr website to look up the regs. a search of this site will give you some decent info on belwood as well im sure
  10. back to the lures. i bought one as well...in the clown pattern, it looks nice in the water at slower speeds...but it does seem kinda cheaply made. havent caught anything on it but i havent thrown it that much. ryan
  11. to add to what johnnyb said, make sure you have the proper landing/release tools. ryan

  17. what makes a marine stereo a "marine stereo" ? my buddy has an old deck out of his car in his boat and has used it for the last few years without any real problems its in a console and relatively shielded from the elements, but has been subjected to some rain/spray. I assume if you mount it in an out of the way spot any deck should be alright, or am i wrong...they're THAT different than regular head units. ryan
  18. at just under 200k i'd replace both sides anyways.
  19. I was told there is a redesigned model coming out, or something like that when I went up and bought mine a month or 2 ago. When I was there they were out of the high ratio reel so I ended up buying the 4.2:1 ratio reel. ryan

  23. only real problem with kijiji is all the dreamers that want to offer you 10% of what you're asking or have silly expectations. other than weeding through people like that, its great
  24. aint that the truth!! me and my buddy were there a couple of weekends ago, with the rain/mud that there was we ended up carrying the boat back up the hill instead of risking driving the van down and not making it back up. boy was that fun in torrents of rain!
  25. We'll be hitting the area this thursday. the water is higher than ive seen it in the past like was mentioned. we were there a couple of weekends ago in the rain and the cold wind and got 3-4 pike and a few OOS largemouth. make sure you dont go onto the railway tracks...its private property. ryan
