  1. They make a 2 part that works pretty well to seal up fuel tanks. It's almost like a putty or playdough that you knead together and then apply to the tank. Like almost any product, the success is directly related to the way the surface is prepped. http://www.permatex.com/products-2/product-categories/specialized-maintenance-repair/radiator-fuel-tank-repair/permatex-fuel-tank-and-radiator-repair-kit2013-05-21-19-14-47-detail
  2. We stopped by yesterday around 8:00 on our way through Barrie coming from up north. It looked like they had a pretty good supply of hunting gear and firearms. As mentioned, the pricing is what you'd expect at a big box retail store. I didn't venture through the fishing stuff but it did seem like a smaller area when compared to the hunting stuff. It looked like they sold handguns as well, which is something I believe Bass Pro doesn't (a Toronto by-law I believe). It seemed to be laid out a little better than the BPS store in Vaughan as well. I really do like the idea of being able to ship to store, it's a bit of a drive for me but we go up the 400 often enough that I could pick something up on the way through if planned enough in advance. When we got there the parking lot was pretty quiet but I could see it being difficult to navigate with a boat or camper hooked to the back of the truck and lots of traffic in the lot. Overall, I'll go back, even if it is just to browse around and kill some time.
  3. You can never go wrong with the LTX m/s 2 by michelin. I had them on my safari and I kinda wish I put them on my current truck rather than the A/T type tires I went with. The LTX is quiet, wears well and stayed balanced while the General grabber at2 I bought is pretty much the opposite.
  4. I'm headed up to the Massey/Espanola area on the may long weekend. Anyone know what things are like around there?
  5. the walk down to the water goes down a pretty steep hill near emily park. probably not the best bet for anyone with mobility problems. ryan edit.... you could probably fish from the docks in the park itself, I don't imagine the weeds would be too bad this time of year.
  6. A company named Keeper makes a ratcheting cargo bar just like that,It can be had with or without the net. 05059 would be the bar, and 05060 is the bar with the net. You can probably get it online pretty cheap. If you need a place to get it locally (in Burlington) you can pm me.
  7. I have a 14 yr old yamaha kodiak 400 that I bought used last summer. While I don't know the mileage on it as the speedo/odo isn't working anymore you can tell it hasn't been babied over the years. It still runs great, starts first pull (when I don't remember to turn the key off), 4x4 works etc. It's my first atv of my own but I've ridden some polaris and honda machines, when it gets replaced it will be with another yamaha. Ryan
  8. you wont even have to rig anything up. theres a product just like johnbacon was describing. http://www.extendatruck.com
  9. woah woah woah.... a burlington beerfest? how did I just hear about this!?!?
  10. Told my Dad about the deal today and he called the hamilton store to check stock, none left. They had stock in mississauga and matched hamilton's price.
  11. bassassin, I saw what the website advertised price is, that's what got me into the store. Once there they were priced even lower, for $80.
  12. Hi all, I have been looking for a heater to warm up my pop up shelter for a little while now. Today I noticed that princess auto had the buddy heater advertised on sale on their website so I went into my local store to grab one after work. I got there and found they had none of the ones I was looking for in stock only little buddy and big buddy units. I was kind of disappointed until I noticed the price on the big buddy units $80 DOLLARS! thats 109.99 off of regular price, and 12 dollars cheaper than the advertised price on the website for the smaller unit. If anyone is looking for a heater, check your local Princess Auto store. I don't know if all the stores have them on sale but my local (Barton st, Hamilton) does. When I left just before close tonight they had 16-18 left in stock. Ryan
  13. i'd do like wayne said, drill a hole at either end to prevent it from going further than zip-tie stitch where the crack is.
  14. I figured the adapter was a given, I believe the shaft is 7/8". Like you said, that part will be easy. I've never dealt with an earth auger so I'm not sure the differences.
  15. princess auto has a gas auger head on sale for $115. its advertised as an earth auger head, i was wondering myself if it could somehow be adapted to my hand auger but i'm not quite sure... it'd definitely be just about the cheapest route if it works. ryan edit... looks like its back to full price, still cheap. http://www.princessauto.com/pal/en/Other/Earth-Auger-Powerhead/8472169.p
  16. you'll probably walk further from your parking spot to shore than from shore to the perch grounds. a 10-15 min walk from shore should get you pretty close. Ryan
  17. Are there people out on atvs/sleds? I'M hoping to get out there either tomorrow or wednesday. Made the trip down there 3 times last year only to find no fishable ice, can't wait to get out there. Ryan
  18. cooks bay at gilford was about the same, snow over slush over ice. Not quite that much slush but the conditions were deteriorating pretty quick by the time i got off yesterday around 1, woudnt wanna be out there today.
  19. My truck? no, its a half-ton chev. Tires are always inflated at the proper pressure, suspension is tight and theres no play, alignment is good. I am confident in the problem being the tires. Like I said, they work great I have only the one issue with them.
  20. The first time it was because it threw a wheel weight. The other two or three times it has been the tires. The rims have been checked and are straight. They'll balance up and in 10-12k they'll start vibrating again, if you look you'll find plenty of people with the same experience. A good balancing with a roadforce machine should be able to get it done properly but there isn't a canadian tire local to me that has one. Ryan
  21. I have the grabber at2's as well and have had them on my truck for about a yr or 30k km or so. They work really well, only problem I have had is them going out of balance. I've read a few reviews complaining about the same problem. Canadian Tire keeps doing it for me for free because it keeps happening... 3 times so far. Next time they go out Canadian Tire is going to replace them, I paid the extra 7 bucks per tire for the warranty and fully intend on taking advantage of it.
  22. Didn't manage to get any birds this trip out, the bush is still pretty thick. Hopefully some leaves will drop in the next few weeks before I go back up thanksgiving weekend.
