Lots of places in the Kawartha lakes area as well as Haliburton including the Haliburton forest great fishing and tons of stuff for the kids everything from zip lining to old fashioned saw mills howling with the wolves nature hikes and tons of lakes to canoe and fish they also rent atvs too !!!! Check it out they have a website too or anywhere in the land o lakes area near mazinaw they have lots of lakes and reports and cabins that way as well skottamatta lake loon lake lodge there is lots of them !!!!! The site "go fish Ontario" has lots if ideas and areas that for your needs and budget !!!! Lots of great places already mentioned in other posts too !!!!!

And be careful where you get the minnows if you buy them in the south you cannot travel with them up north as they are trying to prevent VHS from the watersheds !!!! The MNR has put restrictions on bait shops that sell minnows some are not even going to bother as they have to trap them only in certain areas for certain watersheds to prevent transfer of VHS and other species

Kawartha bait & tackle right downtown Lindsay right beside the dam and the locks but I don't think they are open at 7am ?? Or you can try the bait shop in minden I think they are open pretty early ?? There is also a guy in fenelon falls a very small tackle shop before the bridge he might be open as well !!!! Marks wormwharehouse is not open in bobcaygeon yet for the season so you are kinda limited for now. !!!! Good luck

used the 832 on a few baitcasters,and 1 spinning and do not like it too much fades pretty quick,last year i switched everything to super 8 slick,and its by far the best braid i have used so far !!!!

not for that price around the kawarthas thats for sure !!!! get a few more people and split the costs thats what most do,some of those boats will sleep 5-8 people...

Ya for sure and it really depends on what you are doing with the setup is you are casting or what ?? Put about 30-40yarss of mono backing on the reel then put your braid on !!! But like u said depends on how big the reel is and what you are using it for ?? I do the same for most of my baitcasters as well and it also depends on what the pound of mono backer is too some of my reels have 30lb mono backer some have 20lb hope this helps

Yes there is satellite pics every 12 hrs or so on coast watch that shows Ontario in pretty good detail as long as there isn't thick clouds !!!! Pretty cool that you can get that live from space !!! It also shows thermal temps of the Great Lakes !!!! Been using it for years !!! Someone will post the link I'm sure .... I'm on my iPhone and don't have it here... Thanks for sharing

port dahlousie is a killer that time of year too,we nailed 15 salmon in one day on april 1st a few years back !!!! weller would be just as good depending on the wind direction....go onto a site called spoonpullers and they will help you find a charter those guys are hardcore salmon guys who fish that area big time...if you go to the niagara without a doubt paul castallano with cast adventures is the best guide on the river they will put you on fish for sure...he is a river rat big time....cheers and good luck
