the team and coaching staff needs an entire re-haul. i think Maurice is a good coach but he lost control of the leaf players a long time ago, they didn't respect him enough to go out and try to win every game. the next coach will have the same problem if the leafs management doesn't trade or buy out most of the team... that kind of attitude is contagious in the locker room (look what happened to Ottawa this year). hopefully the new coach can take the reigns and get respect from the players where Maurice failed. There is no problem with Sundin, if he wants to play, the leafs will sign him, and they should, he's the only leader they have! Sundin will probably get offers from other teams this summer upwards of 7-8 million per year... but the leafs can probably get him for around 5 million, like they have the last 2 years... he obviously wants to stay and finish his career in TO. - this is of course he does decides to play another year. I hope Blake stays as well, he was clearly the hardest working player on the leafs last season. he will put up better numbers this year (wherever he may be playing). McCabe will be bought out Kubina will be traded this summer (there is a 2-month window where his no-trade is not in effect) Raycroft will be traded or bought out Tucker will be bought out Wellwood will probably be traded - unless the leafs want to keep building a team up with 3rd line players Stajan will probably be traded for the same reason as Wellwood Wozniewski will hopefully never play another game in the NHL - he Sucks! Antropov and Ponikarovski - not sure about them - both are inconsistent Kaberle will still be a leaf next season. he's the only good defenceman they have, Stralman is going to be a decent defenceman in a year or two. I don't know what they are going to do with Coliacovo, he must be the softest player in the NHL. he got some skill, but can't stay off the IR list. by the way, i have a friend who works for MLSE, these are some of the rumours going around the company... i guess we'll have to see what happens around draft and free agent time...

ARE YOU SERIOUS!!!!! THOSE PRICES ARE A JOKE RIGHT?!?!?!?!?! WOW!!!!! THOSE THINGS BETTER CATCH YOU THE MOST AND BIGGEST FISH EVER!!!!! I have to bookmark that page, cause my dad will never believe me that i saw a fishing lure worth $80! HOLY F***

nice bucket of fish there!

great report! years ago i had 2 trips planned back to back... our annual Rice Lake trip for 4 days, then Florida a week after. so what did i do? i broke my arm 2 weeks before the Rice trip. i ended up catching a few 4Lb smallies and a bunch of smaller ones at rice then hooking a big redfish and a bunch of smaller stuff down at Daytona. it is definitely tough controlling those big fish with a cast on! by the way... how's that cast smelling right now? a little fishy? i ended up getting saltwater on mine... that was really funky!

that's a cool shot of the sucker jumping. good job on the crappies too.

http://www.mnr.gov.on.ca/198219.pdf look at page 6. they charged you with a one year Sport fishing tag for "RESIDENTS OF CANADA (OTHER THAN ONTARIO RESIDENTS)" - $43.64 they should have charged you $23.57 for a "RESIDENTS OF ONTARIO" tag. i don't know what their return policies are like... but i'd try taking it back again, point out their mistake and see what happens.

100% definitely suckers... most creeks and rivers are loaded with them right now. they spawn at the same time as the steelhead.

wow, i was fishing that area on wednesday last week. very sad indeed.

not exactly... i just found that article today... i said i agree with it... i wanted to find something to back up my statements. i'm sure i could find a half dozen more articles of the same topic. i've used the flying lure and used the banjo minnow, both with minimal success. this is just another hyped up "super lure" like what was mentioned by Burning Babies (awesome name by the way). i hope you guys do catch some fish with this bait... but i'm not buying into it, because i know the results of previous "super lures" from TV.
-
did you read the article? I'm basically agreeing with it, otherwise i wouldn't have posted it. and i quote "Any kind of lure will catch fish under some conditions. A Banjo (Minnow) Lure will work but so would a banjo pick on a hook, under the right conditions." i'm just throwing this out there, but how many fish in Ontario waters do you think eat snakes? I've seen some water snakes cruising around the surface of lakes, but have yet to see a fish hit one... not saying it hasn't happened, but i'm saying it's unlikely... i think a surface frog would be a much better option than a snake, at least in Ontario anyway. I'm not a pessimist... I'm a realist! if any of you guys do catch something with it, i'd love to hear about it...

yet another great marketing campaign that has "caught" the average fisherman... there was the flying lure, the banjo minnow, now this ridiculous snake! sorry boys, but they caught you! here's an article you should read before making any other purchases on infomercials. http://fishing.about.com/od/fishingtermina...a/aa070204a.htm

i've never had a problem with shimano reels, even the cheaper models from walmart (under $50)... Quantum on the other hand... i've had nothing but problems.

it really depends on what you'll be fishing for, and even the size of lures you are using. for a baitcasting combo i would go with a 6'6"-7' medium heavy. that way you'll have a heavy enough rod for just about anything and not too heavy that you wont feel the fish on the other end. a medium heavy will be enough to pull a big bass out of thick weeds, and it will be heavy enough to throw big bucktail spinners for muskie. I'm actually looking for the same thing, 7' medium heavy... not too expensive... just picked up an Abu Garcia C3 6500 baitcaster and looking for a suitable rod now... can't wait for muskie season!

if it's a natural body of water (not mad made) then i would have to say regular regulations apply... but if it's a man made "farm pond" on private property, it would be up to the owner... they can fish it or let people fish it all they want. my grandmother has a friend with a farm pond loaded with bass and they have complete control over when and who fishes it. it's their pond and they stocked it with the fish.

right, you're a bruins fan, sorry... obviously i'm not too quick witted am i? hahaha like i said, i know the leafs sucked this year, but i still think it could have been a close series. and i REALLY hope the bruins do take the series... cause i hate the canadiens.
-
Duffin's is still really high and still very stained. didn't see any trout though... just lots of suckers.
-
Danny Galivan, Dan Kelly, Bill Hewitt are all WAY before my time, so i can't really comment on them, but right now, Jim Houson is the best guy goin! he should have the number one spot on CBC right now... unfortunately Bob "Senile" Cole has that position until he dies.....
-
by the way... why hasn't KyleM responded to my response to his leaf bashing comment that he left yesterday... i guess it made too much sense for a HABS fan to understand! hahahahaha see page 2 if you missed it.....
-
TSN colour guys may not be the greatest either, but Jim Houson is the best guy goin right now!
-
DUDE!!!!! you have no idea how much me and my dad rip Bob Cole apart every time he does a game... hahaha! here's my impression of Bob Cole... "and the bruins come up the ice, and get a good shot on net, it was deflected, but the canadien's goalie makes a great save, then the canadien's bring it out of the zone. the bruins make a good attempt to stop them but they get it into the zone... there's a shot, but the bruins goaltender makes the stop and it goes over the netting into the crowd" he has seriously gone senile... he doesn't know any of the players' names. just terrible... and he signed another contract with CBC for next year... i'm just going to have to kill him... like really, he's never going to quit is he... P.S. I'm not really going to kill him... i just wish he would either quit or i wish CBC would let him go... like seriously... this has gone too far.

oh yeah, one more thing... They REALLY STINK... worst smelling fish EVER!!! some people say muskies have a strong odor... absolutely not!!! Gar Pike, by far the strongest odor on a fish i have ever smelt.
