  1. awesome crappie! gotta love it when they come in at 14+ inches! i got a few of them this winter.
  2. Congrats Shawn, good on ya! let me know when you wanna hit West Lake this summer. i'm heading out there tomorrow (i'll let you know how it goes).
  3. no kidding eh!?!? or a straight red devil for that matter? they don't look like anything natural that i've ever seen... LOL
  4. check this one out... they have thundersticks... lots of other brands on here too... cheaper too! http://www.tacklewarehouse.com/catpage-HBRIP.html

  6. you might want to reconsider the species you're targetting... they don't fight much, they are uglier than sin, and they STINK beyond all beleif! and when i say they stink, i'm not exaggerating AT ALL!!! i couldn't get the smell out of my net for over 3 weeks.
  7. in Ajax there isn't a whole lot... the closest spot would be Duffin's Creek. near the mouth, in the marsh area (back bays), you can get lots of carp and catfish, i have caught a couple bass and pike there as well. up the river in the spring you can get rainbow trout, and in the fall you can get salmon. the closest lake (aside from Lake Ontario) is Lake Scugog near Port Perry. you can get panfish (crappies, perch, bluegills, pumpkinseeds, rockbass), bass, walleye, muskie, carp, catfish. PM me if you want to meet up sometime... we're living in the same town!
  8. i caught one on west lake just a couple weeks ago, was catching lots of walleye and a couple pike in the same spot as well... i would say they have no impact on other fish being in the area.
  9. Well, Malkin did get the assist on the winning goal... he did play aweful for most of the rest of the game though... and Malone is an unrestricted free agent at the end of this year actually, so is Hossa... could be interesting...
  10. i agree with Black... probably the number one colour for muskies! the one in my avatar was on scugog with a double (2 section - 2 treble hook) black bucktail with silver blade. i'll be using that this weekend again on scugog.
  11. the only thing that saved the pens was Fleury standing on his head!
  12. ouch! thank god i've only got to be in at 9:30 tomorrow. someone's got to finish this game SOON! I'mtired!
  13. he is not playing well at all... he was amazing in all of the previous rounds too... i don't get it...
  14. i wish Malkin would pick it up a bit, he's been useless this series... did you see those 2 give-aways during the power play in the first period... oh well 2-0 Pens! Go Pens Go!
  15. under your pictures (in photobucket) there will be a line of code that says "Direct Link". then when you are ready to post, use the "insert image" button (it has a picture of some hills and the sun, and it is directly below the font dropdown box). Copy the the "direct link" from your photo and paste it in the "insert image" box that appears. and voila! you have posted your picture.
  16. i think that's how most of us felt! i hope the pens pull at least one more win out of the series!
  17. hahaha. I've done the same thing. after seeing at the lower stretches i can't imagine fishing that river, after all, those fish have to travel through the lower stretches to get to the cleaner (looking) water in the upper parts.
  18. well, as far as i know, the trout poplation in Lake Ontario is self-sustaining... if the rainbows (steelhead) can't reproduce in a river (if that is the case in the Don - i'm just hypothesising a possibility), there will be less and less of them from year to year. the salmon are a give and take fishery on Lake Ontario, and i beleive the survival rate during the spawn is somewhere around 2%. so those fish (salmon) must be stocked in there yearly.
  19. everytime i go downtown toronto i wonder the same thing... i wouldn't imagine many fish could survive in that polluted river... i don't know what it's like further north however... the bottom section, down by the DVP and the Gardiner is bad!
  20. another option would be fishing near the dam in bobcaygeon, the walleye were in there pretty thick at the opener a couple weeks ago, haven't been since though.
  21. ebay always has good deals on fishing lures - you just have to watch the shipping prices. i just won 2 separate auctions (3 terminator spinnerbaits in each auction - first set of 3 were the titanium series, and the other set was the stainless series). got the whole lot for $18 + $7 shipping... $25 for 6 terminator spinnerbaits... can't beat that! works out to just over $4 a piece!
  22. i've caught a few pike and oos largies in the last couple weeks on the perch pattern. clown is another option that usually works well for pike... at least on the lakes that i usually fish it works well. if you use them as a jerk bait, and not just a straight retreive, any colour should work... they have a great action if worked properly.
  23. Good on them... I've never had a problem with Shimano products, and that is definitely great customer service. Glad to hear it!
  24. i'd say somewhere around 6ish!, long but not very fat..... nice fish though! Great Catch!
