Dave, I have followed this project from day one. I started doing my basement and it’s been a nightmare. I did the plumbing/ sewer work. The contractor is doing the rest. But does not come every day, they have jobs as it keeps the costs down (part time work but good), but it takes time, lots of time. I admire your work efforts and determination on this project. PLEASE write a book on the project. Do you watch Mountain men? I love seeing these guys on the homestead. I’ll come up with a title for you lol “I built it, they will come”. Guiding is extra. Shop around OI check Lowe’s some come as universal units. I found my Centro replacements somewhere else at 1/2 the cost. OR Go see big B in Barrie, it’s worth the drive and a few Lake Erie Perch.

I agree but how can you tell if the big $$ item is good? they are made generally in the same place. I can’t remember the ones I had saved from other products were from but one worked and one in the bank.

How many TVs had been dumped by this simple fix? I have learned on my own to try all possibilities before I ditch it. Thanks Cheap.

I have a 46-inch flat screen a few years old, a while back I had problems and called Rogers; went though the tests and they recommended a new HDMI cable, well it solved the problem. The prices range is ridiculous, they recommended a cheap one would work and it worked fine until last night, probably a year or so. Thought it was the TV gone. The last time I bought a new HDMI and after found two new ones that came with other electronics. I pulled one out plugged it in and problems are solved. SO if it happens to you give a new cable a try. A lot may have chucked the TV, I had those thoughts. Worth a try for the price of a cable . . .

I was putting a Tourism book to press years ago and we get a call from “someone” late at night, I was not involved in the call, only production “I want that Highway on the map”!! What is going on here? Press time and correction cost thousands. we had a standard Ontario map we used with major highways but all of the sudden a “let me look good” person who pushed for the road decided the map had to be changed, never mind the cost, the map got changed. Lost little sleep on that one. hope it’s well used!
