I 'dealt' with that whitefish that was bullying all the smaller ones. It won't be causing problems any more. (Brian has totally been out fishing me these past two weeks, but I'm pretty happy with how I did this winter) (and by 'dealt with' I mean 'gave a stern talking to before sending back down the hole. Hope she makes lots of babies in the coming years) Best fight I have ever had with a fish through the ice. She just did not want to come up. Kept bulldogging back towards the bottom every time I got her close. Kept avoiding the hole when I was getting her near the surface. Was a great way to cap off the season.

We had 150 huskies when I worked at as a dog sled guide in Canmore Alberta. They all had their own house that was pretty much 4 walls of plain wood. Those dogs were out night and day and were just fine. Some people. : /

Looks like a Sauger to me. Also people only post reports when they catch fish. I'll start posting more when I get skunked to even things out. Last weekend I'm told was good. I watch Brian catch a lot of fish and lucked into a few. Actually this whole winter has been pretty good to be honest. I figure with the warm temps the fish have had a lot less pressure on them.

Hi Guys, This year, I'll be volunteering to help run one of the events for family fishing weekend over the summer. The best part about this is the coordinators have asked me for ideas about what to present and to talk about. I figure this forum is the best place to get ideas. So the premise is, for the event there will be a lot of people who are fishing for the first time. A lot of people with young children and (from past experience) a lot of people who are new citizens to Canada. What messages and information do you feel are important for these people to learn about fishing? We will only have about an hour of talking before they get a chance to fish and I already have important topics covered. - How to handle and release a fish - How to do basic species ID - Catch and possession limits - Invasive species - Fishing seasons and what is open. Also, any ideas for games or activities are appreciated. Thanks everyone.

I get the feeling that, regardless of how the Jays do this season, Joey Bats will ask too much at the end of this year, and a team with more money then they know what to do with will give him what he wants (Yankees, Red Sox, Dodgers). They'll get 2-3 more good years out of him, and when he turns 38 and can no longer hit 500 ft bombs, they will tell him to take a hike. My grandfather on my dads side used the Beno until the day he died. Refused to use anything else. And he did well. It must run in the family because majority of the time, all I use is a crayfish colour crank bait or a chartruse jig. The other lures I buy because they look pretty so they sit in my tackle box. Don't think I tossed a single cast with the Live Target Black Crappie. Oh oh! And a frog coloured hula popper. But thats all I use pretty much.
