Its prolly worth more to you personally.....as a back up....than it is to sell it. Is it a good runner? Sinker
-
Yup, for sure a good swivel and a mono or fluoro leader. Sinker

Hit the deep weed edges for both. Can't go wrong with a spinnerbait for musky( Black and orange has been doing good), and a white power grub, on a 1/4oz green head for the walleyes. Just find the edge of the weeds and drag that grub, or cast to the edge with the spinners. You'll catch some fish. Sinker

That reply is about right. The temp may drop a little with this weather we're getting here right now, but it won't be less than 65. Lots of green weeds, look deep. Sinker

I can go all day no prob in a moderate wind with a 55pd on a 16 foot deep and wide. My batteries aren't the big ones either. Sinker

Well it sounds like they're all the same to me Just a bad design. Like I saie earlier, once the motor is deployed it works great. Thanks Sherriff.......I'lll try that and let ya know how it works out. Sinker

A family that hunts together, stays together Congrats! Sinker

Hey Ron, This is your old motor It works great, and it slides just fine. Its just tough to get out of the mounting bracket when I first deploy it. I keep the shaft lubed up with the dri film like you showed me. It seems to stick on the rubber guard when its in the stowed position. I have to give it a couple good whacks to deploy. Is it just me Sinker

I have a 55 pd. It can be a real mother f..... to get out of the mount sometimes. You guys have any tricks to getting it out? Its starting to get on my nerves.....I have to bang it a few times to loosen it, then it slides out no prob...... Just to be clear, the shaft slides no problem, it just doesn't want to come out of the bracket when I first try and get it in the water. Is there some sort of lube I can put on there so its not so hard to get out? I litterally have to hit it with force a few times to get it off the mount. Sinker

Oh.....one other thing about the PD. Its got that lovely 18ft cord on the footpedal. I can sit in my comfy seat at the back of the boat and troll to my hearts content. Its nice to have the full on switch too.....just flip the switch and its going........not like the cable steer where you need a foot on the pedal all the time. I do a lot of "steering" with my hand on the controls at the back of the boat.....especially fishing walleyes. I've had both as well. They both have pros/cons.....but they both do the job required. It depends on what YOU want it to do for you. Sinker

I have a 55 pd. The only thing I don't like about the power drive is that you burn power every time you turn. Other than that, its great. I find the slide and glide release a bit tough to get in the water sometimes, but its a good set up overall. I can still fish all day long in a good wind on one battery. I have it mounted on a 16 ft deep and wide. Sinker

Cliff.....that was freakin awesome man!!! -
We have rafted 4 canoes together and put up a tarp and sailed back to the launch. 4 canoes lashed together is a pretty stable craft. Put up that tarp, and you can really fly

Crazy story! My kids will not get in a boat without their PFD's on......its just part of the whole boating deal. Even when we are out cruising in the 24 foooter, first thing is PFD's. Before they set foot off the dock, they have them on. I no longer have to remind them, they just do it. Maybe get that point across to yours as well. They will save your life!!! I just can't believe they were out there with no life jackets.... .....never mind the sat/cellphones!! Sinker

I have a 93 aluminum, and no leaks so far. I use it twice a week at least. It takes a beating......I break ice to get in, in the spring, and break ice to get out in the fall. I fish and hunt out of it. Sinker

I feel the same about the paintball. Its fun, but you have to have the respect for guns first. My kids have been around guns since birth. At 4 yrs old, both my kids were shooting the .410, and .22. My son loves it.....he's only 5 now. My daughter not so much......I have to bribe her to get her out........but once she starts shooting, I can't get her to leave! This year, they'll both be joining me in the duck blind for a real hunting situation. They're both very excited about that. I was brought up in a manner similar to what TG wrote. Always guns in the house, and I would never think of touching them unless supervised. Had a .410 of my own when I turned 10. Lots of grouse and rabbits fell to that old girl! Those were the days! Great post Dave, thanks! Sinker

I'd reccomend a clam. I don't have any personal experience with that model, but I know for sure that the clams are the cats meow......you pay for them, but you get what you pay for. I have an eskimo 2 man, and its ok, but beside a clam it looks like a cheap piece of crap. Mine is heavy as hell, and a real job to pull by hand. Not bad behind the skidoo, but the sled is wearing out already, its only seen 2 seasons, and I hardly use it. I find it easier to just bear the cold and fish without it. Buy the clam, and your done. It will last longer, and be easier to set up on those cold windy days. Sinker

Its a wire line trolling set up. For getting your line down deep. The spring tip keeps the line from cutting a groove in the rod tip. Tie on a leader of fluro and troll with it.

The launch on crow off Blairton rd is fine and its free. Good area of the lake to fish as well. Good LM/SM and pike. Used to be lots of musky there, but not so much since the pike made it in there. If you get a ski now, its a good one! Lots of bass for ya though..... Sinker
-
I replace the hooks and the split rings......if the hooks don't go, the rings do. No worries on smaller fish, but great lakes or musky.....don't take the chance! Heres the lure..... Lucky for me I got that fish.....but just by the skin of its teeth! Sinker

I was using PP.

I tried the braid last year for the first time. I didnt like how much it froze up on the reel. A plastic spool may help with that though....it was a real PITA getting the line back down when its frozen on the spool. The sensitivity was great though. I use straight floro.....P-line.....usually 8lb for deep water and 4lb for panfish. Sinker

if you could only have one bait in your box, what would it be?
Sinker replied to banger's topic in General Discussion
For me it would be a 4" white grub on a 1/4 oz head. You can catch anything on that. Sinker -
I've seen them on Kashagawigamog. Everyone I tell about them thinks I'm full of it.....glad to hear someone else has seen them! Sinker
