  1. All ya need is a spool of 8lb mono, a few hooks, a few sinkers and a willow gad. Honestly. That's all I use on Bernard, and I do well there. Better than a lot of others around me. Set one line within a foot of bottom, and set your second line down about 25ft. Some guys make it way more complicated than it needs to be. S.
  2. do they sell hunting gear in there too? Where is this place? Never seen it before........ S.
  3. Its not illegal to ride double on an ATV unless you are on a road. Look up the definition of road if you want, but it doesn't include a frozen lake, or a trail. You HAVE to wear a helmet though. S.
  4. How is the selection in that shop? I've never been there. I'm gonna have to check it out asap.... S.
  5. Trout season is always open.......somewhere!!! S.
  6. After having my mail box smashed a couple times, I got smart and put it on a swivel. Good bearings on it and all. They can hit it all they want now and it will just spin So far so good with this one S.
  7. Its thick!!! With a bit of snow on it. The rain here turned to snow overnight saturday. Out of bewdley there is at least 20". S.
  8. The cabela's waders are pretty good B. I like the bootfoots personally, I've had issues with stocking foot waders wearing out in the feet. The BPS Redhead waders have a wicked warranty. I've replaced a couple pairs free of charge from BP a couple times now. Never an issue, and always free replacement. Mind you, I'm wearing waders for duck hunting, not fishing, so they are a little more heavy duty, and A LOT warmer. S.
  9. The big problem with culling yotes is the more you kill, the more they breed. As long as the food source is available, they will breed more than once a season too. Sneaky buggers they are!! I shoot everyone that comes close enough for a shot! S.
  10. Thank god, that CT is the worste one I've ever been in. I won't even go there anymore. Its a joke. The fishing dept is a total waste of time, they could do so much better there. I drive out of my way to go to lindsay CT, its got everything!! Its not just the fishing dept that sucks either, the whole place is out of stock. S.
  11. You can also connect two batteries together, and still run 12V to your TM. It will last much, much longer that way. I run mine like that too. S.
  12. A hand auger is better than anything electric. Cold and batteries don't mix well. 8" of ice, OK, but that is rare anywhere in Ontario this time of year. Maybe with a 4" bit on it......... I've only used jiffy's, so can't speak for any others, but I know the 20 year old jiffy we use has been flawless. S.
  13. Maybe you shouldn't be tapping that transducer Just sayin...... S.
  14. Yep, I'd say you need a new 'ducer too. I bought a brand new one for mine last year, and it didn't work, right out of the box! I seem to go thru one every couple years with the ice rigs, they take a beating. S.
  15. I have also had great luck with Walleye-1 Batteries. I run two together for a 12V TM, and I can't seem to kill them. I use my TM for slow trolling too. S.
  16. I used to fight mine all the time too. Now I just spray the rubber guard with WD-40 and it slides right out with ease! S.
  17. I've had it happen twice now in the last month. They go for my change. Now I have a couple razor sharp treble hooks in my change compartment for them. Dirty thievin crackheads!! I'm scared to think of what I'd do if I ever caught them!!! S.
  18. A bottle of dish soap will get you out and back in a pinch. Just lube up the sliders once in a while on your travels. Works mint. S.
  19. the stands are great. I hate leaning over low riggers all day. S.
  20. Try the Viking brand from Marks Work wearhouse. I have a set that has been pretty good for a while now. They will keep you dry for a while, but if its really pooring, you get wet in anything. You should really just pay the money, and get one good set. By the time you go thru a few cheaper sets, you'll wish you did. The BPS 100mph gortex gear is pretty hard to beat for the price. The redhead bonedry brand of gear is also not bad. You really don't get much for $100 these days. S.
  21. Thats what I got them for Greg, and they didn't make it thru the summer. I destroyed them in about 6 weeks. The columbia gear is much better IMO. I just found them really, really light duty. S.
  22. They are a little light duty for me, but they are good rain gear. If you intend to use this stuff in the spring or fall, I wouldn't reccomend them. They are like paper. I had a full rain suit by them, and it didn't make it thru the first season. They are nice and light for those muggy summer rainstorms though.... S.
  23. I'll move on, right after I call the WAAAAAAmbulance You bass guys are so thin skinned. Suck it up buttercup S.
  24. No limit, open all year. S.
  25. Well, if your hut was out there, and you didn't have it anchored, I hope you learned your lesson this time!!! I know mine was anchored, and she didn't move an inch S.
