  1. The deportation process can take years as well, that's why. S.
  2. Exactly my point. The auto setting didn't work as well as they thought lol.... S.
  3. I'm not a fan of the auto 4wd at all. I know 2 people who thought they were good to go on snotty roads with thier trucks in auto, but they wiped out because it didn't kick in, in time. I just lock it in 4 high and go. Your not hurting anything by turning the transfer case and front diff. Better to use it than not IMO S.
  4. And the turbos that blow up constantly. Glad mine is gone lol S.
  5. My forester XT was awesome off road as well, but they just don't stand up to it, and towing wears them out. My boat is maybe 1500lbs, and it tows it fine, and stops it no problem, but they are essentially a car, and just don't stand up to the wear and tear of towing OR offroading. I've had lots of big off road truck guys question what I was doing in my forester in some of the places I've had it. Then turn around and blow cars off the line running light to light. It was a fun car, but, its a car. Gas mileage was absolutely horrible, and always burning premium fuel too......$$$$ S.
  6. What do you hope to do with it? Ive had both. My subaru was great, but its nothing like real 4x4. The awd (especially subaru) were horrible on fuel (15-16l/100km from a 2.5l 4 cylinder engine!!) My 17 ram gets better mileage. If you plan to tow a 2-3000lb boat a fair bit, get a truck. Sure, a smaller AWD vehicle will do it, but it wears on them a lot more than with a truck, and they work much harder. Having both, i take the truck 100% of the time, and i dont mess with auto 4wd either, if there is any crap on the roads, im in 4 high all the time. Your better to use it than not to. Ive seen more problems from guys never using 4x4 than i have guys who use it all the time. IF fuel mileage is your concern, still go with a truck...lol....they are all very fuel efficient theae days. I average about 13l/100km, and i am towing a trailer at least once a week, abd i have a heavy foot. I can get that down to 11l/100km easy if i keep my foot out of it and slow down a little. S.
  7. Once you get the knack, the rest is super easy! S.
  8. Been following this duo for quite some time now. They are amazing!
  9. Get yourself a copy of the zone 18 stocking lists. Look through the brook trout stocked lakes, and pick one that you can access. They all have fish, its just a matte of which ones you can get to. Have a look here: https://www.ofah.org/zonef/wp-content/uploads/2019/01/Bancroft-Mazinaw-Area-Fish-Stocking-List-2015-18.pdf If you have an ATV, even better, but a lot of these lakes a 4x4 truck will get you to with no problems. S.
  10. Yeah, but whats harder on your auger, one 10" hole, or two or 3 8" every time? S.
  11. I like the big holes. Makes fishing a lot easier. I had a friend out last year and we couldn't fit his laker through an 8" hole. Yes, on simcoe.....and yeah, I've pulled LOTS of big fish thru an 8" hole, but this one would not fit. HUGE!!! It was a heart breaker. S.
  12. No, I wish I had another jiffy. I don't like the ION. Less than 20 holes and its dead. Useless. $900 green lawn ornament. S.
  13. Whats the problem with your jiffy? I had the same one for 23 years. Finally let me down at the end of last year, so I bought a brand new ion. I hate it. Its let me down on the number of holes it will drill so far. Pretty expensive unit to drill less than 20 10" holes. I'm not impressed. Shoulda paid half as much and stuck with gas. S.
  14. Well, he thought for sure he had me, so I really wanted to prove him wrong. He was being a bit of a goof though.....whatever....the system is totally stupid. Who even made the decision to make it that way? Do they even fish? My time is worth more to me, because I'm not spending a day in court, when I could be fishing LOL..... S.
  15. Just a heads up.I was checked this week, and my phone had died. The CO wasn't going to let me go without seeing my license. I had to log in to my email on Loris phone and dig it out, or i was getting a $244 fine. He was being a bit of a jerk, but whatever, I got it thru my email and was good to go. I printed the paper copy for next time. He wouldn't look it up for me, said I had to prove to him I had a license..... S.
  16. There is one crack right at the harbour you have to cross. The operators have been crossing it with their machines, but never assume anything is safe. S.
  17. Saw trucks out there, and you'd have no problem except for the cracks. 20+ inches of ice, and not a whole lot of snow. S.
  18. Cant' get any fresher than that! Looks delish! S.
  19. For the record, I've never caused an accident, or lost control and went off the road. I actually learned how to drive in a rear wheel drive car on lake scugog in the winter lol I was driving to work one day this year, a couple weeks ago. Had the truck in 4x4, 4 awesome snow tires, and trucking along between 70-80 in an 80. Roads were snow covered, and pretty greasy, on a rural windy road. I have this woman right up my tailpipe in a small car and I know she wants to pass me REAL bad! I prepare myself for her to pull out and pass on the first straight section of road, she pulls out, I let off the gas, and move slightly onto the shoulder and just watch it happen..........she pulls out, gets just past me, and hits the slush trying to get back in our lane, and away she goes.....out in the ditch. I really didn't want to stop, but I did. Made sure she was ok, and she was. I asked her if she was late....."no, why?".....LOL....."Going a little fast weren't you?"......"UHM....NO"..... I wanted to just leave here right there, but I opted to be an ice guy and let her sit in my truck waiting for the tow truck. S.
  20. Solid rig. Lifetime purchase for sure. A friend of mine has an 18ft centre console. I love it. Great on the big water too. S.
  21. I didn't watch the video. I put mine in large zip locks with enough for a meal for the family, cover with water, suck the air out, and lay the bags flat in a tupperware container. Once they freeze laying flat, I take them out of the tupperware, and put them in a box, upright, and that's where they stay until I want to eat them. I find keeping it all together in a small box in the freezer helps keep the bags from getting punctured, and freezing the bags flat in the container keeps them kind of square, and flat so they store great in the small box. I mark them all with contents so its kind of like a filing cabinet of fish in the freezer. I only freeze perch and crappies in the spring, and the odd time walleye if I don't devour them right away. It probably sounds like I have tons of fish in my freezer, but I really dont at all LOL....just like to have it organized and well taken care of if/when I do freeze it. Proper care before it even gets cleaned is the key to great fish. Anyone whos had one of my fish frys will tell you, I pride myself on my fish. S.
  22. Its up to them to figure it out now, don't worry about it. What a waste of time and money eh? Brutal. S.
  23. Yes, I love the song, and they did an amazing job of it! The Blackberry smoke boys are amazing. Love all their stuff.
  24. Put fish in ziplock and fill with water. The water is airtight, and you get no freezerburn at all. The comment above is Bull as far as I'm concerned. Fish doesn't get mushy in water. S.
  25. And there is a lot of unqualified truck drivers on the roads now. Lots of shady operations. S.
