  1. RIP Kevin. Condolences to family and friends. Lori and i were searching for him the day he was found. Such a mix of emotions. Happy he was found, and sad at the same time. He did have a go pro on his chest, but the one from his boat is missing. I have a feeling the missing camera is a part of the puzzle. Kevins B rolls were a large part of what made his videos so great, but some were risky to get. S.
  2. Manitou is all good. I last talked to Cliff the end of June/early july.....will send him a text. S.
  3. I heard the swimmer was a local from that area who frequently swims there. The cobourg body was a missing elderly woman. Such a sad weekend. I hope the family gets some closure soon. S.
  4. Just heard OPP have found a body in lake Ontario west of Cobourg. Seems a long ways away from where he went missing, and there is also an elderly woman missing from cobourg, so theres still hope. At this point, even a recovery would be a blessing for his family. S.
  5. They have his boat, presumably his camera (s), his GPS tracks should all be there on his graph. There could even be video of what happened. Praying they find him. S.
  6. The way I understand it is they were in separate boats. Praying all ends well. Kevin is a great guy. S.
  7. Its a stocked rainbow lake. I think it has bass as well. The rainbows are fun to catch. S.
  8. I'm sorry you think that way. Must really suck to be you. If you let something like an internet comment get you this riled up, I can only imagine what happens when something really bad happens. Take a moment, take a deep breath, and get over it man! S.
  9. See.....exactly my point. They are wrong more often than not, so when they forecast a tornado, I take it with a grain of salt, and keep my eyes on the radar. S.
  10. You don't have to call names either.....or do you? Maybe you do? Does it make you feel better? Maybe it does? I dunno.....people are different everywhere you go, but I'm not going to call you names about it ....sheesh. The comment about interrupting my TV show was in sarcasm. If you didn't catch that, you might want to lighten up a bit. Life is short. Enjoy it while you can. Start with smiling and work up from there. It feels good. MY POINT was the forecast is generally slanted in a negative way, and most of the time, not very accurate. You seemed to have missed that part, so I will once again mention it for you. I had television and cell phone warnings for my area, and it didn't even rain that night, nor did we get a breath of wind. I think its you that needs to man up, Mr. Name Caller.....or just move along and get over yourself.
  11. I read all your reports, and I recall you saying many times the weather was wrong again.......that's all I'm saying. Its always slanted towards the worst. Why dont the weather guys say its going to be a beautiful day with a slight chance of rain, instead of saying its going to be a rainy day today? I'm fairly certain I'm not the only one who plans my activities around the weather......I'd be willing to bet that everyone on this board plans their trips in regards to the weather forecast, and A LOT of the time they are way off. S.
  12. So why do it then? I can't find where anyone else called names in this entire thread, except you. Its pretty clear you don't agree with my thoughts on weather forecasts, so why not just move along like a big boy?
  13. Yup, I will be ready for the rain. Might even see some lightening.....if it ever comes. S.
  14. Wow, it takes a big man to call others names on the internet. Get over yourself dude. Don't trip over your head. S.
  15. Finally, someone who gets it. Maybe grimbsbylander doesn't do anything outside so the weather doesn't matter? I just go, regardless of the weather forcast. S.
  16. You missed the part about them being totally wrong 90% of the time?? That's my argument. You forgot my daily planning in there. If your going to quote me, get it straight. How much of the forecast rain did you get the last 2 days?? Yeah, that's what I thought. S.
  17. Well, if you want to call them accurate, you go right ahead, but I don't think so at all. Most times not even close. S.
  18. Yeah, that helps a lot when your trying to plan your day/week/month. You realize they get paid for that too, right?
  19. I have way too many 2 strokes that run 50:1 to pay $10/litre. I keep a 20l jerry can mixed all the time. Boat has its own tank that's also 50:1. And what is with this site lately! Frig.....every time I try to reply I get 5 words typed and get booted off. Its frustrating and has been happening for a long time. Does anyone else get that?? Geeeeze.... S.
  20. Its more about ratings than what the weather ACTUALLY is. Can we agree they are wrong more than they are right? Its more hype than anything these days. TWN is the worste for it. S.
  21. Its always the maximum possible length.
  22. Yeah, I guess when you compare waterlogged, soft plywood it would be comparable, but a full 4x8 sheet of 3/4" poly is much heavier than plywood. Its a great way to go though, it certainly won't get heavier. I have been considering the same as a I have a good source for it. 4x8x3/4" plywood is 70lbs 4x8x3/4 HDPE is 120lbs S.
  23. Great vid Joey. Keep em coming. Nice chunky fish! S.
  24. Really.....learn something new every day. They are actually listed in the MBCA as being not protected. The kawartha's are polluted with them. More and more all the time. Its brutal. They need to die.
  25. The poly is a great way to go, but its a lot heavier than wood. Its gotta be close to twice as heavy? Great idea though, and one I have been considering for quite some time. I have a source for it, but its not cheap....at all. Looks great steve!! S.
