I disagree. I think if you had cormorant decoys they would work them real good at the right time of year. I know I could have shot many boxes of shells at them just this fall alone over my duck spread, easily. Duck decoys, not so much, but you put out a spread of cormorant decoys, and its game on! S.

Two youths beat a coyote to death in Alberta....

Just to be the devils advocate.....maybe this yote killed thier pet? Or their cattle? Livestock? Who knows. Not the way I'd do it, but still.....we don't know the whole story here. S. -
Top of my list, for now, is a 100+ pound Halibut. I'd love to get a bluefin tuna too. Once you get in to salt water, the list never ends. S.

Time to start carving decoys!! I could have shot thousands of these by now. Wish they were legal to shoot years ago. I will certainly be spending some time practicing my wingshooting with these dirty birds. S.

What’s the best slip on traction cleats for ice fishing?

Mine have worked great for me. I have a size 14 boot. They are tight. Heavy though. And horrible in snow. -

Had the same set for many years. I only wear them on glare ice, but they are tough and work very well if its slippery. A little heavy, but better than smacking your head off the ice. S. -
Yeah, I do wonder what their reasoning was. It was a very windy, nasty day too. S.

Its not even fair to compare specks with bass.........or any other fish! -
Possibly. Also, with these temps, it will take a long time for a body to float. Water was only 36 yesterday. Its cold. S.

Theres a time and place for everything. I love fishing panfish in the spring. The problem with bass, FOR ME, is the season for everything else is open when they open. I"m a musky guy. 61 musky graced my net this year so far. Why would I fish for cute little bass?? S. -

Yeah, maybe, but a big bass is what.....5 or 6 lbs? Real fish eat them for lunch. I just can't see the point in fishing for a species of fish, where a big one is only 5lbs. Seriously, whats the point? S. -

I'm with Lew. Get a set of dedicated snows, and switch them for 4-5 months of the year. Your all seasons will last much longer, and your snows will last 4 or 5 years. Its no more expensive than buying 2 sets of all season tires, and running them all year round, plus you get the safety of good tires when you need them most. Dedicated snows are night and day difference in bad conditions. I swear by them and wouldn't even hesitate to buy the best ones you can afford. Even on a 4x4 truck, dedicated, quality winter tires can save your life. All seasons suck in snow, even with 4wd. I can't wait to install mine..... S.

Well, I can tell you it has never hurt my engine. I have a 1993 Yamaha/mariner that gets seafoam added to every bit of gas that goes in the tank. I can't even guess how many hours are on my engine.....thousands? Maybe tens of thousands? Its a lot. I've never once in all those years had a fuel issue. In fact, all ive ever done was replace the original fuel line from the tank, replace the impeller a couple times, change lower unit oil, and new plugs every once in a while. I swear by seafoam, the stuff just plain works. I've been running it hard for 25 years this season, and it runs just the same now as it did when I first got it. It really makes it hard to justify a new engine, even though I want one LOL I'm not saying its better than anything else, just that I have a lot of years of good experience with using it. S.

Seafoam for me too. It does a lot more than just stabilize the fuel, it cleans the whole fuel system, and the exaust as well, decarbs pistons and rings....its great stuff.
-
Quick answer, yes its totally worth it. I have never heard anyone say, well that was a waste.....your reels come back as good as new, worn parts replaced. They are good guys too. Its kinda nice living 10 mins from there lol S.

I havent been on the river, but the lake I was on on wed was 65, and the musky were chompin. We went 4 for 6. S.

Ontario rolls out new hunting, fishing licensing system

I'm not understanding how this will work with big game tags. What do I do, staple a paper sheet to my dead deer? Thats not gonna fly........Keep a picture of it on my phone? Doesn't make a lot of sense to me. S. -
Lets be real here. The problem is we have almost ZERO enforcement, so these guys just go around from lock to lock, and do whatever they want, whenever they want, and NOTHING ever happens.A CO could sit at Lock 19 in PTBO and write tickets all day long, or any lock for that matter. These poachers are everywhere there is public access, and they don't care about anything but themselves. S.

Its true though. I must own 100 musky baits. This year I've used 2 of them. I put musky #50 in the boat last time I was out. Same with every species of fish. I own so much gear, and generally only use 2 or 3 of them and do just fine. I'd love to have a 3 lure derby sometime and see what comes of it. Aaron is certainly a great entertainer. Good fisherman too, and a great teacher. S.

I'd shoot him a 50 and tell him to take off.... lol. S.
