yeah, you are. I've had a few run ins with the DRP hunting around Brooklin. Most of those guys don't even know the discharge by-laws. One morning we had 5 cruisers roll out into our field with guns drawn I will never understand what they were thinking that morning!!! They left quick once I pulled out the discharge by law though!! So, where's the story? I was born and raised a fisherman. most of my family were commercial fisherman until the collapse of the fishery. Its just in my blood I guess. I'm drawn to water, anywhere I go. S,

Was it healthy? I mean, could it fly? Early goose season was last week....maybe it was injured? It could have very well lost its mate, and now doesn't know what to do with itself, but any good goose hunter would call that one right back and drop it beside its mate for good Just sayin.... S.

Who's pumped for Fall Fishing - Personal Best beating time!
Sinker replied to Harrison's topic in General Discussion
You guys must have missed the memo.....Fall is hunting season!! Fishing gear is put away to collect dust till ice up!! S. -
The license is reasonable, but I'm not sure about the price for non res. Getting the gun over the border isn't too bad either, from what I hear, but I've never done it. I guess you have to fill out some paperwork, but its supposed to be pretty straight forward. A couple buddies of mine drove down to Texas for a turkey hunt this spring, and the border guards didn't even ask to see paperwork for any guns, even though they told them they had them in the truck! You should be booking a canada hunt up here next year for our early goose season to get things rolling. I know this guy who could get you out S.

Best week/month for fall Troute around haliburton ?
Sinker replied to boatdrinks's topic in General Discussion
Just keep in mind season closes on a lot of those lakes on sept. 30th. I would go in the spring. Ya can't beat ice out trout!! Just when the bugs start is when you should be there. Usually the last week of april/first week of may is prime time! S. -
If he has a hunting license, he can buy a deer license anywhere, and shoot a buck anywhere in ontario. I'm not sure what that instructor was thinking, but he is WRONG! He can kill a doe for your party, as long as a doe tag is available in the group. Good luck! S.

I've caugt trout, whities, and perch full of gobies out of simcoe. They have been in there for a few years for sure. The bottom is covered in them along the SE shore! S.

Have you ever seen where commercial fisherman throw the guts after cleaning a boat load?? You got it, right back in the water....all of it!!! S.

Use the whole can in 20 liters. Run it good and hot, let it sit until it cools down, then really run it hard. I do this once a season on mine, but mine is a two stroke. It will clear a lot of gunk out of a carb though, that I know for sure. S.

Ice Armor X (Extreme Weather) Suit - Gray/Black
Sinker replied to Terry's topic in General Discussion
Can you get a camo ARCTIC Armour suit up here for me to try on? I'm thinking that's my next purchase. S. -
Care to explain that one a little further?? You realize there is a natural population of chinooks in the tribs, right? Just askin.... I was down at bowmanville the other day with my kids. There is some construction happening upstream of the dam, and the water is silted up bigtime. We couldn't see a thing. No fisherman yet either. S.

I'm afraid to even guess how many are on mine. Lets just say LOTS! S.

50:1 mix is 20ml of oil per liter of fuel. Easy sleasy. S.

How did it taste? I want to eat one....I gotta catch one first though!! S.

My 40hp mariner is manual start only. My kids can have it when they can start it. I do it with one arm all the time. S.

Just because some people don't know or understand the gun regs is no reason for me to change how I do things....legally. If someone has a problem with me having a gun over my shoulder, when it is totally legal to do so, that is his/her perogotive. Why should I hide my lifestyle?? I don't agree with a lot of things they do, but I keep my mouth shut and move on. If I get harrassed by police because of it, it is harrassment, and will be dealt with accordingly. I have no problem showing my papers etc that are required if asked, but I have a problem with being held at gunpoint for no reason, other than I am carrying an encased firearm. S.

No wonder people don't understand the gun regs. Its threads like this that get people thinking the wrong thing. It is totally legal to carry a gun around, out if its case, in/on any motor vehicle during daylight hours. (half hour before sunrise until a half hour after sunset) I could drive around town with my shotgun on the front seat all day long, it is totally legal. It must be unloaded of course, but totally legal to have it out in plain view in my vehicle. A half hour after sunset until a half hour before sunrise, you can still have your gun in/on any motor vehcile, as long as its in its case. No need for any kind of locks either. Locking your gun is only required for storage. If your with your gun, it doesn't have to be locked at all. S.

What is it you want to catch? I wouldn't worry about the young lad getting sea sick. If you don't mention it to him, he will more than likely be just fine. If you see him turning green, get him to drive the boat. There are lots of great charters out of lake O, depending on what you want to catch. S.

2 stroke oil for a older Merc suggestions
Sinker replied to baironhorse's topic in General Discussion
I run the oil recommended by the manufacturer in my mariner. I have been for the last 15 yrs. Why do you think you should change oil?? Its much more important to mix it properly, than it is to use more expensive, synthetic oils. I don't know why people have such a hard time with mixed gas/oil. A 50:1 mix is the same as 1L/20ml. In other words, for each liter of gas, add 20ml of oil. Pretty straight forward math. Why add more oil? I never understood that. Also, if my motor was oil injected, instead of pre-mix, I would use ALOT less oil in a season. Most times the manufacturers recommended mix is over kill to start with. Adding more is just making more smoke, and polluting the water more......and don't forget how much you paid for that oil!! S. -
