  1. Good job Brian. Im going to look into these things. Heard a lot of success stories about them. The hardest part for me is the habit....i think I could beat the nicotine, but I need something to do with my hands when I feel like a smoke....nasty, filthy, rotten habit. I gotta kick it too!! Maybe this is just what I need. S.
  2. Mine would think something was wrong with me if I DIDNT go fishing or hunting. Its pretty bad when I come home from work and shes begging be to go, but the worst is when we do go, and she out fishes me!! Lol
  3. Maybe the cormorants will eat the gobies by the time we can kill a few of them off? S.
  4. Its funny, I almost exclusively fish the kawartha's and have never caught a pike in any of the lakes. S.
  5. At one point in time (DDT days), cormorants were near being endangered, and put under protection. Now that they have come back so well, they are a nuisance, but still protected under the same act. I'd love to be shooting them. If a season was ever opened, I would be the first in line to get a license. I have plenty of chances to shoot lots of them, but let them all pass me by, and watch them catch fish all day long.....sometimes hundreds of them in a small area, just cleaning it out of any fish. It sucks!! There are days at the peak of the migration when I see more of them than ducks or geese. Its sad. S.
  6. I'm lucky to have gas stations with NO ethanol in any of the fuel where I live. There are 3 or 4 stations with NO ethanol. Before that, I was running Shell V-power in everything. I find a big difference in mileage with no ethanol fuel, similar to PURENEWF. I get an additional 100+km per tank with NO ethanol regular fuel. S.
  7. The migration has started. There will be more to come, then they will be gone until spring. S.
  8. 50/50 seems a little rich to me, but I will run a full can in 25l of gas late in the fall to clean everything out real good before winter. S.
  9. They cant charge them unless they see it happen, but they can give a warning. S.
  10. I hope he gets nailed. I wish I could help!! Good luck...i'll ask some people I know on the lake. S.
  11. Vacuum pack, then store them in tupperware containers in the freezer. Lasts forever. The containers stack neat and tidy, and prevent the vacuum packs from getting punctured. Smoked goose breasts are great. Once done, slice them real thin and make sandwiches....almost like pastrami. YUM! S.
  12. Yep, some of them just don't work right out of the package, so you have to modify the trigger so that you can barely set the trap. Sometimes, if you set them just right, they will go off just setting them down. They work every time. A mouse just has to breath on it and SNAP!! S.
  13. You have to ask to go fishing?? I made that mistake once. S.
  14. Yes, it comes in a liquid. Thats all I use. Napa still has the sale going, I bought a case. I use it as a stabilizer in every tank of gas I put in the boat. Great stuff for sure, I use it on all my 2 stroke equipment, and most 4 strokes too. Awesome in my weed eater and chainsaws. S.
  15. Hovering 60's on the kawartha's too. Got skunked last night fishing musky. Wasn't sure I should be deep or shallow...... S.
  16. Ive had the same engine since '93. Never been fogged once. S.
  17. Yup, its a beautiful part of our country. So much to see. I agree about the drive too, its worth it, and the miles fly by. We did 4700km, and could have kept on going, no problem. We saw lots of wildlife on out trip. You name it and we saw it somewhere along the way. Thanks for sharing! S.
  18. That's great, but did nothing for the lower unit that's full of water. S.
  19. Yes, I'd stay away from the Trackers too. S.
  20. The bucket trick works great, but don't use antifreeze.....it will kill any other pet that goes near it. Water works just fine, and even the empty pail is enough to hold the mouse until you get to it. S.
  21. I love the winterizing threads. There really is nothing that you need to do to an outboard but check the lower unit oil. Change it once a year in the early fall, and your good to go. Explain to me how an E-Tec does that?? So you push a button, and the etecs check the lower unit to make sure its not full of water?? Riiiiight!!! Let me know how that works out for you come spring when your lower unit it split wide open because there was water in the gearcase and it froze solid. I'm like Steve. My boat is pretty much ready to go any time of year. Keep the batteries charged, and don't use the livewell or bilge when its below zero. Pretty simple. S.
  22. The problem with kids camo, is they grow out of it so fast, and its not cheap! I know I have to buy my son new camo every fall, because he outgrows it in a year. I have some stuff here for ya, I'll dig it out tonight and see what exactly I have. S.
  23. I like to run my line on the weed side of the boat. S.
  24. You have a boat? S.
