I've heard of chumming with it, but never using it as bait. When I was 5 or 6 years old, I used to fish a small pond on the back of my grandparents property, there was a creek that ran through the pond and eventually into the Saugeen River. This pond was full of brook trout and the occasional brown. I used to catch lots of trout, and of course chub too, using a piece of bacon or hotdog on a hook.

Maggots on a teardrop - perch, herring, crappie, gillies Williams Half and Half - Lakers/whities Badd Boyz - Whities Big dead minnow - pike Jigging Rap - walleye

Simcoe Bait and Tackle has a good supply. I usually put 2 or 3 maggots on a small teardrop or Marmooska jig and shake it just off bottom, or wherever the vex says they are. Last weekend at Nipissing we caught perch, herring and whitefish on maggots.

Hey guys, I go to College in Lindsay but I dont have class until 2pm on Fridays, so I was wondering if anyone wanted to fish the Bog with me on Friday. I have no idea what I'm doing on Scugog, it is usually buzzbait and flippin jig territory for me, so shallow water ice fishing is new to me. Let me know, I'll be around.

just feed it line if it starts running. I've caught 15 pound lakers and ling on a classic tipup. It's not as bad as it may seem.

haha that was matt, i never saw him sober for the whole trip haha. he drank a 24, a 26er and half a 60 pounder. he was mangled to say the least.

I fish jerkbaits a lot in the fall for smallmouth, and my hookset always ends up going to the side. it's really hard to explain and I lost a lot of fish before I got it down.
