  1. way to go mam. great report.
  2. forgot to add, we tried deep with no success. All fish were in 3-6 fow.
  3. Kelli and I got out today on Lake Simcoe for a while, but the wind and 49 degree surface temps were just too much. Not wanting to go home skunked, we hit up a smaller local lake in search of some pike. Hammerhandles, I believe are the exact word to describe them haha. We hit the windblown shoreline and started throwing spinnerbaits and rattletraps. Water was 67 degrees, 18 degrees warmer than Simcoe, and the aggressiveness of the fish showed. We were landing fish every 5 minutes. Over and over and over again, whack whack whack!! Colour didnt matter, size didnt matter, the fish ate them! Unfortunately, no size today!! first monster of the day! Kelli with Moby dick Another anaconda!! I cant even take this seriously haha Wooo LOL Better fish, but still a dink. So that was my day today ... look for more reports come the weekend. Anyone wants to chat, I work 5am - 2pm at bass pro every weekday, stop in. Take care and good fishin!
  4. Thanks guys, we had a fun day out. Hope to get up there again soon. On the bright side, I did get out again today, check the new report!
  5. Went up to Lake Rosseau on Saturday and had a great day out. Sun was out, water was calm, fish were biting. Over the day I landed 4 pike and a whole bunch of OOS smallies. 2 pike came on a saltwater X-Rap, the other 2 on a 6" pink senko. The X-Rap was worked with a twitch pause twitch pause retrieve along dropoffs and over the very few weedbeds we found. The senko was twitched back to the boat as fast as I could twitch and retrieve for a reaction bite on topwater!! My biggest, a 36 incher came on the senko. Check out the gash in this fishes tail!!! Bigger fish lurking ?? I think so. the fish was hooked in the lip but bled quite a bit, swam away quickly enough, getting me a little bit wet. Buddy with a 42 incher, hooked deep on a beleiver, but swam away fine. All in all, a good day out!
  6. How was there too muc hype around Liddell?? He dominated everyone they put in front of him until Page. I called this fight. Liddell is a counter striker, and Rampage taunted him and ticked him off and put him off his gameplan. People are too afraid of Chuck to push the fight knowing that one punch could end it. Rampage had the right plan, take it to him, he did it and he won! Who else since he fought rampage has pushed the fight?? No one, Liddell just sits back and picks his shots until he smells blood. It's worked well for him, and will continue to work well for him. We will see round 3, likely going to Rampage again!
  7. Not me.. Barrie Bassmasters have a pike tournament on Sparrow Lake on June 2nd, been doing it for years now. Doing the Pikemania on cooch on Sunday though!
  8. Lew, I'm sorry for your loss, he'll be watching ya every time your out, fish hard every time!
  9. SS. don't worry about it man. I personally don't keep pike, I dont care for them, I have not kept a bass in 8 years, love them to much to eat them. But pretty much come ice fishing season, I start eating some more fish. Open water, the fish get to go home, but like I said, I dont get to see my buddy too often, so we like to get the pics together when we get out and have a good day. Good livewells, some pickling salt and a constant recirculation does wonders. it wasnt just that one pike that was skinny either, all of them were snakes. No fatties this year's opener, all skinny and HUNGRY!
  10. All fish were live released, but seeing as I dont get to see my buddy very often, we wanted a pic of both of us with some fish, which we got at the docks, then the fish were released, and all swam off immediately. I keep the occasional trout, some walleye, and usually lots of perch and crappie when I target them, but bass and pike, no sir.
  11. Pike season finally opened in Simcoe County, long have I been waiting for this sweet, sweet day. I'm going to be honest, I hate pike, I really do. But until bass season opens, those slimy little effers are my best friends. Plus there are lots of pike tournaments to enter, and regardless of my dislike for them, I can usually catch em pretty good. We arrive at the lake at about 645am and launch the boat, get to our spot and start fishing. My buddy Noel was up for the weekend, and excited to try out his first baitcast setup and oversized X-Rap ,which he purchased at Bass Pro last night. Anyways, first cast, Noel lands about a 4 pound OOS largie, nice way to christen the combo, however, not our target species. About 5 minutes later, I hooked up on a 6 pound OOS largie on a big rogue. Okay, I love bass fishing, but I'm not one for OOS fishing, especially when there's a chance that the fish are about to spawn. So off we went to a new spot, we were throwing spinnerbaits as the water was slightly shallower and I pulled out a nice 34 inch pike which hit less than 10ft from the boat! We caught a few more 24-26 inchers, then headed out to a new spot. We fished a deep break .. 17-25feet with deep diving jerkbaits and Noel landed a big pike which was hooked deep, so quick pic, then released, not to be included in our group shot. At this point, the sun came out, the wind died down, and even in 10 feet of water, fish were visible on bottom. X-Raps, spinnerbaits and flukes it didnt really matter, the fish were hitting them. All in all, we landed about 20 pike. All fish were live released following some pictures. Good day out!
  12. Shoulda came to Cooch!
  13. ate the crappies last night in some fish crisp .... BEAUTIFUL!!
  14. If you read the post, we were pike fishing when we caught the muskie.

  17. always good to see the kids out. good job man.
  18. bait of choice was a white 1" twistertail on a 1/32 oz white jighead, no float. Just swimming it slowly back to the boat. Water was calm where we were fishing, and we could generally see the hit. Hope to back back at her pretty soon.
  19. solopaddler, I'll trade you a guided Bass trip for a guided steelhead trip. haha. I'm not kidding by the way.
  20. good job man, I got into some nice crappie today too, forgot how fu nthey can be.... and how tasty too!
  21. Well, After a misunderstanding yesterday, I learned that Georgian Bay is now open for pike fishing. So of course, I had to go. My buddy Jason and I headed up in search of some bruisers. Started off pretty slow, 3 or 4 followers, no takers. Caught a few bass, obviously released immediately. Then since it was slow, we decided lets do some crappie fishing. Got into em pretty good for about an hour, caught about 50, kept a dozen for the pan. All fish between 8-11 inches. Then back to the pike fishing. We start firing big jerkbaits, then WHAM, Jasons rod is bent right over. After probably 5 minutes we get a glimpse of the fish, a HUGE muskie. The fish was released without ever leaving the water, It was easily a 50 incher, although the pic doesnt do it much justice until youcomapre the size of things. Good day out.
  22. sorry dude, you had mentioned Simcoe in the post and I misread it. Just trying to keep the fishing legit know what i mean. Nice pike though man.
  23. congrats on the perch, but i hope you realize that pike season is still closed for another 9 days, assuming you were fishing Simcoe. check your regs, or post where you were fishing, because pike is still closed in most parts of Ontario.
