  1. Well, after a long lay-off, and a finally replaced rod, I got out for some steelhead this morning. After checking a few tribs and finding only 2-4 inches of visibility, we finally settled on a trib and started drifting. I went 1 for 2 landing a nice chromer, maybe 4 pounds or so. My buddy James went 1 for 4 with another nice steelie. I got mine on brown roe in a chartreuse bag, he got his on a little berkley power worm. Packed it up at around noon and headed home. Pics are now on here
  2. crappie are taking over our lakes anyways, thats why there is no limit. And with the amount of meat on them, you need a few dozen to feed a small family for one meal. I've kept upwards of 80 crappies in a day from Simcoe, and fed my house for two nights.
  3. fishing the 2007 Elite Series.
  4. I know there are record smallies in Simcoe, one of them follows my bait everytime i go to the spot, but NEVER bites. She bit one time two years ago and I broke her off. I'll get her one day. Bright side, the longer I wait, the bigger she grows.
  5. oh gosh, im going to europe, only until june23 of course.
  6. www.ghostbaits.com ask for the G-Sticks in Steve's Special! It will blow you away in any water with perch as main forage.
  7. whats wrong with 3-5 pound bass ??
  8. sounds good brian! good luck with your deal, I hope it works out for you! See you on the trail this year!
  9. ummm.... ouch! I have three different pairs of polarized glasses, yellow lens, amber lens and grey lens. I've been hit in the face a few times with a missed topwater strike, and the glasses were my saviour.
  10. have you ever been skunked ?
  11. search the internet for lodges. most of them look for guides around this time of year, so get on it quickly. fly-in camps often hire frequently.
  12. Well, it depends how much of a business man you are. And tournament fishing is about business. If you feel that you are getting enough from Ku-Man-Chi to display a BIG logo, then the Pro X is a gorgeous shirt, if not, and you feel that another company may deserve that BIG logo, or you want to hold out on a bigger sponsor, then the Pro Tournament would be wise.
  13. I'm not accusing you of doing it, but in the post it was brought up that you can give fish to people as a gift, then go back out fishing. If you eat the fish, and share it with people, then no problem. But if you give people your fish, it still counts under your posession limit until they are consumed. I just want people to know the rules so our fishery can be protected. Limits are in effect for a reason. That being said, congratulations, they are nice whities.
  14. sounds like they are bullhead to me, and yes you can eat them, they are actually very tasty! Beer Batter 'em and you wont regret it.
  15. nice job man, good fish,
  16. no need getting frustrated, its not going to do anything. They could charge 3.00/L and we'd still pay it because we have to get around. It sucks, but moping wont help out at all, we've just gotta deal with it.
  17. I do a lot of bass fishing on the Pool, mayeb ill see you around this summer.
  18. You can't "gift them" to family and friends. That is 100% illegal. The limit is for each license holding individual for fish that they themselves caught. Although, it would be very hard for someone to prove that your wife didn't catch them, it is still illegal. You cannot give people your fish and catch more, you are then over your limit. I am studying natural resources law to become a C.O. and that is ILLEGAL.
  19. a couple weeks back i was whacking the herring on K-Bay but releasing them all, and one guy started keeping some and i gave him poop so he released the one he kept, packed up and left. At 24" I'm going to say it was likely a whitie.
  20. bass tournaments include "black bass" which are largemouth, smallmouth and spotted bass.
  21. could be lymphocystis
  22. I fish 15-20 tournaments a year, plus guiding, plus recreational fishing, I'm on the water well over 100 days a year. Power Pro I replace twice a season, and fluoro/mono i replaced AT LEAST monthly.
  23. Sandy Bay Cottages
  24. one word .... wooooooooooooooooooooo!
  25. Luigi is a good fighter no doubt, but I see you're bias here. This fight should definitely not be on the undercard and I will be excited to see it. Fitch had a bad fight against Joslin agreed, because Joslin is brutal. My brother who is 17 and has a KOTC and UCW contract, has rolled with Joslin and says he's just terrible, so I'm not impressed with Fitch's decision win over him. However, I still give Fitch the advantage. Only time will tell though. I dont like Fitch, I just think he will win so I do hoenstly hope to see Luigi win, but he needs to work on more than just his hands to beat Jonny.
