  1. If you dump your chum right at teh hole then don't expect to use your flasher it'll be lit up like a XMAS tree for a while.
  2. Warm fresh bread and butter dipped in maple syrup. I am licking my lips as we speak.
  3. Best to check with authorities before hand. And if he is allowed, have all paperwork ready.
  4. I've been using a Y gunrack for about 5 years now, and it's still going strong.
  5. WalMart had them 2 years ago, but I didn't see them this year. LeBaron's has them in the Hunting area. As somebody mentioned to attach to the duck decoys. I love mine. But I keep forgetting them in the hole at the end of the day
  6. I have the Stylus 1050 I love the camera but the only thing I do not like about it is that it is not Point and shoot. Can't really get a reaction shot. takes a couple of seconds to take a picture.
  7. There's no right or wrong way to do it. You just do what feels more natural to you. I am a lefty for both types of reels.
  8. Remember tha the longer the dowel the more sensitive it will be. I had made a few of those and had different lenght dowels depending on the targetted species. But now I use these way more sensitive and adjustable.
  9. I haven't caught a Goby in the Ottawa yet and I fish out of Orleans almost every weekend. I am thinking maybe a small ling.
  10. Looks great Moose, wish I was handy at woodwork. If I can't fix it with a 28oz framing hammer I don't touch it. For an auger rack I use my existing gun rack. On the rear rack I just cut 2 holes in a piece of plywood to put in my red buckets and screwed in 2 milk crates. the rest goes in my Fishtrap.
  11. Where is the tv going Dark or lots of light is pretty well the main thing that should effect the decision of which kind to buy?? The rest is price. The higher the refresh rate for an LCD the better (but the pricier it is) I have a 52" Samsung that I bought last year and it only has 60hz refresh rate and I have seen only a few times when there was a bit of break up but I am not a big sport watching guy. 120hz will run you 200-300 more. 240 hz a lot more. Most Plasma have a refresh rate of 600hz so it would be plasma that I would buy if my family room didn't have 3 huge picture windows and a patio door.
  12. I prefer a Ford over a GM!!!!
  13. A lot of his Bloopers are setup to look like an accident. Funny but!!
  14. Just ask any 5 year old if they would like to step in an 8" hole or a 10" hole. 8" is plenty
  15. I think that the Weather man on the News should be paid only if his prediction is right. It's friggin December!!!!
  16. quinze deux, quinze quatre , quinze six et deux huit et deux dix. quatre dans le kitty. Ca donne 10-4. Alors 10-4 est belle ta planche de crib.
  17. Ice first for a good base then you can get all the snow you want.
  18. OOOPPPSSS double post.
  19. We are in Ontario and it's friggin December, if we were getting a +30C heat wave then that would be NEWS!!!!!
  20. You should be able to but I would ask the Life guard first and see if I can actually fish in his POOL
  21. Fl-8 is a good starter one but if you fish for walleyes a lot you would want the FL-18 which as a zoom for bottom separation. But if I had the money I would upgrade to an FL-20 today.
  22. Lots of info in this link http://vexilar.com/pages/support/support_tips.html What I like the best about my flasher is that it is real time no delay. The cold weather doesn't affect it at all. You might have a lot of arguments on this thread. Because it's like Ford or GM??? So once you make up your mind on a Flasher you'll have to ask Vex or Marcuum. I say VEX all the way. On my boat my sonar in teh bow is setup on the flasher mode. By the way if somebody tells you that he has a flasher and he shows up looking like this I wouldn't invite him to sit in a shack with you.
  23. Now that got my blood going!!! Good Tune also!!! Thanks
  24. If you want light weight then the Strikemaster 4 stroke is the one you want a bit on the pricey side but well worth it if you have to walk everywhere you ice fish. I have a Jiffy 3hp and I love it but I also have the Quad to tow everything with.
  25. Hopefully the Strike isn't as long as the one we went thru last year in Ottawa. Traffic was mental. I agree that they shouldn't be allowed to strike, they might not be essential to everybody, if the bus is your only way to get to work you might be in trouble. There was a story about an elderly woman in Ottawa, a new immigrant that had finally found an overnight job in a grocery store to be able to survive, but that store was across the city from where she lived, on the bus she had to transfer 3-4 times. She couldn't afford a taxi everyday and had no friends that had a vehicle, it used to take her if I remember well 4-5 hours to walk at a very slow pace(because of her age) in the middle of January. So she was walking 4-5 hours to work, worked her 10 hour shift, then walked back home. sleep 4 hours and do it all over again. She didn't want to quit her work as she said she would've had to go on welfare and she didn't want do that. after a month and a half, one of the local newspaper wrote a story on her and people started to offer her drives to and from work. But to the transit drivers it was more important for them to make more money. Some had year salaries over $100,000(with all the overtime) not too bad for 4 years of University?? (bit of sarcasm entered here).
