  1. From the MNR website: Crown land makes up about 87% of Ontario's land mass, or 937,000 km2 - an area the size of British Columbia or four times the size of the United Kingdom!
  2. HAHAHA - The front doorstep. I have actually done that. ROTFLMAO as I recall it. It was late fall and there were MANY dead salmon along the banks of the river. Well, 4 guys, a pickup truck at 2 am and there were gifts left for a few unsuspecting aquaintances. A solid 20+ lb fish that was literally falling apart when handled was leaned up against the front door. Apparently, it was kicked, stumbled over the next morning. Then, the residents tried to move it and needed a shovel. It was put down by their curb. The next day it was run over by the roomate and exploded all over the driveway and car.... The unfortunate part is that it was done in secret, so I could only laugh at certain parts of the story when he told me what happened. Ahh, Fraternity days. I better stop with the stories before I incriminate myself. So, long story short - Fish on Doorstep is definitely an option!
  3. That makes me all warm and fuzzy inside. Oh, maybe it's the pop I had for lunch... Regardless, that's good to hear.
  4. I suggest finding a taxidermy message board and offering it to someone just starting out in taxidermy/learning. That way it doesn't go to waste.
  5. Thanks for posting those, Brian.
  6. What Roy said.
  7. Hmph - some really heated opinions here. Did someone mention British anglers loving carp fishing? I was under the impression that the reason the brits fished for carp is because they fished out all of the good species of fish... Sure, we should encourage them to come over and fish for carp. Just keep it quiet that we still have some fish left that are actually worth fishing for. Okay, fire away.
  8. Walmart usually has the best price.
  9. Funny story! Thanks for the chuckle. Gee, do you think that someone has fed him (and possibly other wildlife in that area) before?
  10. I bet you feel 10 feet tall...
  11. Great report. Welcome to the funny farm.
  12. Halfway Lake had a serious forest fire a few weeks back when I drove through. The scenery may not be worth the drive...
  13. I wouldn't want to feed that thing propane. Now, if were talking charcoal... I doubt that would fit on my tailgate though!
  14. That second musky is on a dollarama lure? They have improved their selection this year... They even carry wire leaders, etc now. I am not sure that I'd attach anything but a dollarama lure to one of their wire leaders though.
  15. Spinnerbait for sure, looking for active fish. Then, some soft plastic offering for following up any missed hits.
  16. If they do make it up here, I'll have to do my part to help eliminate them. It may sound a little redneck, but bowfishing for flying carp is definitely on my to-do list.
  17. That's a serious boat!
  18. LOL! An absolutely classic shot!
  19. I've never heard of the string-yank technique. I'll commit that one to memory. I have yet to have a hook too deeply embedded that I can't just rip it out (knock on wood)
  20. I was both a cub and a scout. I agree that there wold be less youth in trouble if more of them were involved with such an organization nowadays. I didn't know that they let girls in now? Not too sure that's a good idea. Are teenage boys allowed to join the girlguides and go camping with them? Now, that I might have done...
  21. Awesome pictures. Thanks for sharing. I have seen them MANY times and have never even attempted taking a picture. Perhaps next time. I usually just stare in amazement and never think to take a picture.
  22. Complete 'lunchbag letdown'.
