  1. I have the Truxedo roll-up on my Tundra. Water resistant, theft resistant and you can roll it up out of the way if you need to transport something large on short notice. Cost about $600 - $700. That was about 5 years ago. Still in excellent condition...
  2. I have a Thermacell and must say that it is AWESOME.
  3. Was talking to my folks (who live on the lake) and they said the ice is gone...
  4. How's the access from the west side of the lake? Is there still plenty of ice? I am planning some ice fishing for 'family day' and don't want to drive all the way there for nothing... How's the perch bite?
  5. I have seen goslings get munched on Dalrymple. The only way to know if you have a fowl-eating fish is to check it's stomach contents (kill it). So, for those that catch and release, just assume that you caught the biggest/baddest predator in the lake and let it go (after a pic of course).
  6. Even holding up to the camera doesn't make it look big. I had to call in the guy who is used to handling such small things...
  7. Were ya fishin on 'Lake X'? How did the trailer hold up?
  8. Whatcha fishing for there? I'd double check the regs...
  9. I received mine, too. TYVM!! I will post a report once I get a chance to try it out.
  10. Guys weekend at my buddies cottage... with his own private lake....rainbows and speckies & a little turkey hunting. Ya, it's rough, but somebody has to do it.
  11. What about slot limits? That would make this NOT applicable here... I could just see it: "Oh darn another 9 lb walleye - too bad I have to keep it, too. One more and I'll have to stop fishing and go home."
  12. So, does this mean that you should date any packages of fish that you may be gifting?
  13. That's cheap. Did you get the new version or were they selling off the old one? I bought two of them at the sportman's show and the best price I could manage was $155 per (taxes in). Some places were selling the older version for slightly less...
  14. I think my 12 footer is rated for a 7.5. I use my 2 hp, 4-stroke on it. I have had a 5hp mounted on it and wouldn't want much more. The bigger motor eats away at weight capacity (fishing lures, lunch, etc) and can make things quite scary. Since you won't be taking the boat on any big water, there's not really a need to go over the rated HP. My $0.02
  15. Fish don't mind getting wet...
  16. Is it just my imagination or do salmonids tend to be looking down toward their mouths when they are hooked? Kinda like..."what the h3ll is stuck in my jaw"...
  17. Nice report and LOVE the pic. Nice work!
  18. Just found this after I posted... thanks for the feedback.
  19. Well, you did way better than I did. Curious as to what you were using...
