A couple of problems with the proposal, 1st - I don't have kids. 2nd - I would have to buy a new boat as well (too make up for not having kids of course). 3rd - At 50 you will need more money to retire that early - I'll do it for 2 million. Of which 1.5 million would be invested into some kind of a RIFF and live off the interest/principle. (Could do away with the Canada Pension then.) When I die, whatever is left over they can have it back for the next person.

Michael Iaconelli. Certainly not a kid or for that matter a lack of experience being he's been professionally doing this since the mid 90's. Running down the lake and hit something and lost control, could happen to anyone. Yes, he is probably not as worried about it given that he looks OK. (Or the holy bleep "look what happened... and we don't have a scratch.") And the fact his sponsors will have another boat waiting at dock when he gets back.

Sounds like a fun day on the ice with a bit of entertainment as well. Too bad of the the conditions of the hut and the not so great transportation. I know that being the end of the season the last thing he probably wants to do is service the equipment. However, it's apart of providing a quality day for your clients and their likely return or word of mouth advertising. As for the garbage, that's just being lazy. Takes a minute or 2 to clean up when bringing everyone in at the end of the day. For that matter, leave a garbage bag in the hut for your clients to use. All of that aside, a great day on the ice with good company and some fish to boot. How was the ice? I'm guessing pretty much glare with no snow? I'll be out there tomorrow but haven't decide on the location as of yet.

X2 My buddies always complained about my Motorguide (12v) when fishing with me (noisy). Never seem to bother me or the fish so I never worried about it. When it died 2 summers ago I upgraded to a 24V Minnkota and was wondering why I didn't do that when I bought the boat. I'd never go back to a Motorguide given the difference in how quiet the Minnkota is in comparison. The other big difference is that the Minnkota eats through the weeds (at any speed it seems) where the Motorguide liked to collect them. I was a big fan of the maximizer in my old transom mount and happy to have that in my new motor as well. So to go from a 12V to a 12V, I'd say stay with what your have until it is time to replace. Not worth it IMO. I just wish I had put the 24V system on my boat to begin with. Edit - Having said that - a couple of my buds went from Motorguide to Minnkota 12V systems and were glad they did just for eating through the weeds.

Great report Joey. That trailer looks like something I need to get for our trek to Bernie's. Lots of room for all the instruments and fishing gear in that. Beauty laker and pics too. A nice closer for you guys as well.

Between this and the Nipissing agreement, I'm having very little faith in the powers that make these decisions for any future for our fisheries.

You don't have to tell me that!! This year the fish gods have not been on my side. 8 times dropping a line down and only 2 of those trips I've caught fish.....pathetic...

In case you were wondering ...they don't have to be Old Special bottles. Those empty vodka and rum bottles after a weekend at Bernie's should work just as well. Having never made syrup before, I could be wrong. I'd certainly like to try doing it one of these days. Need to find some trees and permission to do so. Great video TJ!! A buddy of mine is looking to do a drive-in fishing trip with his son. He is looking at these two camps and was wondering if I had any input on them. Since I've never been to either perhaps some one here has. We were spoiled this trip Cliff, Bernie put a foam seat in the outhouse for us!!! As for the fishing, I think we all agreed it was the best winter trip for numbers and all the fish were walleye. No perch, herring, or pike, although Joe was most likely bit off by a pike. The weather was also very nice and comfortable for a change as well. The spring trip will be here before you know it Cliff. Great pics Wayne!! Bernie, I thought you were going to keep that spot a secret....

Thanks for doing up the report Joe, nice recap of the weekend. A great time as always and nice to have a couple of familiar faces join us on this trip. The usual crew was missed....nah. Rubin has gone from the title of Goby King to Walleye King as of this weekend, he certainly did very well on Saturday. But than again it doesn't take much to impress a guy that is carrying around a skunk with him. I didn't take many shots at all but here's a couple of Rubin's biggest. It was great to shake that skunk off on Sunday with a couple of eaters. A very tasty treat. As always, a great time was had by all. Thank you very much Bernie for having us and putting up with us. Hopefully Rubin's curry dishes cleaned up better than the sophisticated meatballs... Wayne, great catching up with you and glad the much need break worked out for you. Rubin and Joe, I hope to see you on the ice soon. Till the next time!!
