  1. I wouldn't let HD install anything either. My girlfriend has had a couple of things done by them and we were not impressed at all. Ie. - going to have to have all the carpets re-stretched, lifting and buckling. Bigger bucks to install then some others I had quote me when I was getting new doors put in a well. (almost double the price) Friends of mine had the guys come out 4 times to get their kitchen counter top installed, they kept cracking the top. Some others might have had good experiences but I've heard of none.
  2. Well a belated happy birthday. The pics say you had a great one!
  3. No perchies in my freezer either HH. This coming weekend may be the last if the warmer temps come in that they are predicting. If I get out this weekend it will be Sunday. The boat will be available as soon as the ice is gone. Lots of perchies to be had then.
  4. Great news Maureen! HH and I were talking about the event yesterday and were wondering about the totals. Thanks for the update and congrats on all your hard work.
  5. The bite was very slow and unfortunately we never got into any jumbos. But the company and the laughs sure made up for the size of the fish. It was a great day on the ice. I really wished that the winds would have picked up a bit more, that might have turned them on more. I'm surprised we lasted as long as we did with only 5 fish by 2:30ish you'd think we'd pack up and call it a day. It was my Dad suggestion of hitting out starting point one the way in. That certainly salvaged the day. After getting home last night I parked the sled for what will most likely be the last trip of the year. I looked at the boat and it's like it spoke to me and said it's time to get me ready. I almost started to unwrap it! lol Soon.....very soon. Thanks again HH for sharing another great day.
  6. You've got to be fast! Here's the SPOILER
  7. Good on both of ya!! Enjoy Maureen, you deserve it.
  8. I'm looking to upgrade my boat trailer. Nothing wrong with the old one just wanting a galvanized trailer. One of my co-workers was down at the Sportmans show and found a trailer for me. My concern is the bearings, they are an oil filled system, no grease. If the oil gets low just just top it up with 10w30 and away you go. I'm not really buying into this concept. If you blew a seal going down the highway I figure that you'd have a seized wheel in no time. At least with grease it's going to stay with you for a while, maybe enough to get you home. I'm just wondering if any one has had any experience with these before? Comments, concerns? Thanks
  9. The way my day has been here at work, I knew I should have called in sick and went with you. Could have been a half day of not feeling well and then off to work. I guess the question would be....how to get rid of the fishy smell before running into work. (New cologne I could tell them..... ) Also I think they'd be wondering why my sled was with me. lol! Oh well, great day Emil. We'll do it next season. Now back to work.
  10. I found out why. Wish I never had......It's got my vote. Check here if you dare....Candiru
  11. Good luck with the new job Gerritt. WTG HH! HH is certainly one of the good ones. I'll ditto that as well.
  12. Maureen, It is never easy having to put down a pet. In fact they are not just a pet, they are family. Having recently had to do the same thing and I know what you're going through. Be assured that time will make things easier and the memories with be with you a lifetime. Will
  13. That's it I'm leaving work now and going to fire up the BBQ. How do you like the Big Green Egg? Seemed to do an awesome job on that burger of yours, I'd have to taste it to know for sure.
  14. Does anyone know if it is just for the weekend or for the entire sale event? I'm planning on heading up one night next week. Thanks.
  15. Well here's my list. 1987 Nissan King Cab - Traded it in at 325,000km's Should have done it at 300,000km's ended up doing head gasket and the rear end after 310,000. Other wise a great truck. 1991 Chevy S10 - Only got 200,000 out of this truck but I contribute that to towing a bigger boat then I should. The old 4.3L just didn't have the guts. General maintenance and that was all. It was in need of an engine in the end. 1998 GMC Serria extended cab 4x4 - 190,000km so far - TERRIBLE TRUCK!!!!! Every 2-3 months I'm spending more money on repairs. Brake assist drum (I think that is what is called), Front Diff, In-take gasket, alternator, switch assembly for the heating and air conditioning (unit had melted, could have caused a fire), Inside driver's door handle, Outside driver's door handle, (I've never had to replace a door handle on any vehicle) I could go on but I won't. These repairs are over a 90,000Km time frame. My buddy has a brand new 2006 and is having nothing but problems with it. Most likely the last Gm I'll ever own, but never say never. GM for sure won't be my next truck, I need a break on my wallet. Presently shopping around and from what I'm finding I'll either go with a Ford or the Toyota. I was considering a Titan but found too many bad reviews on the web. Maybe Nissan will sort out the problems for the 2008 model but it will be too late to get my money.
  16. Great job Rippinlips! Hopefully it will be OK. HH- What about the raccoon problem? Better get an Eagle for that one.
  17. Looks like a great weekend away Lew. Nice to see the canal open for skating. When I was there a couple of years ago they closed it down the day I got there,. I had even bought new skated to use! Oh well, one of these day is get to skate on it.
  18. Great Report Joey! It was certainly an awesome day even thought the fishing was slow. Great to see some old faces and meet some new ones. Hats off to the cooks and their efforts and fine cuisine. I'm looking forward to spend some more time with these fine folks up at Lakair in June, can hardly wait. Maureen: You are a class act. Your efforts in organizing this event for a good cause is just awesome! I'm certainly glad that I could be apart of it and looking forward to next year.
