  2. I was renovating my house 8 years ago (putting on a 3rd floor), bumping out the front of the house and adding a covered deck off the back of the house and I needed my Bell and Cogeco lines moved (I had Bell phone and cable and Cogeco internet at the time). Cogeco came right out the next day and asked me where I wanted it to go and I showed him a spot at the side of the house that would be out of the way, and 2hrs later it was done. Bell said it would cost me $300 to move the location of where the phone line comes in my house. I went back to Cogeco and moved my land line and TV to them and called Bell saying to cancel my service and to remove the line on my house because it is in the way of the framers extended my roof off the back of my house. They said it will still cost me $300 and I hung up and walked to my back fence line climbed a ladder and cut if off about 6’ from the bundle and removed it from my house. I called them back and said I have a cable hanging over my yard and I think it is one of yours…….looks like it was cut. A tech was out next day and removed it. I will NEVER go back to Bell. Since then I dropped my land line and TV and use an android box exclusively with Netflix and I get more channels than I know what to do with. Once corporations get to a certain size (a saturated market) they turn their focus away from customer service & customer retention towards internal savings and internal simplification at the detriment of the customer experience. Look at Apple, Bell or any large consumer provider.

  3. A business trip starting April 15th will have me at Pidgeon Lake Alberta for as long as I wish to be there once the business is complete. A tad more than an hour north of Red Deer and the same time south of Edmonton. Anyone here fished the area? Any info is greatly appreciated. I will be fishing solo when I we have finished our business because the associate I am going to be with would rather spend the off day in the West Edmonton Mall than fish pristine waters in the shadow of the Rockies. OK bud, you can tell me all about the Gap store on the flight back. Actually I usually switch pre booked seats because I usually have had it with business associates I have never met before by the time the business portion of a trip is over. No need to listen to stories about the food court and their grand childrens first steps or suffer through the 1252 family photos all the way from Edmonton to Toronto Pearson. Or God forbid get teamed up with a millenial. Sometimes it is a chore for me to be pleasant, I try, I really do.

  4. Some of you may recall I posted a picture last winter of a very uniquely coloured deer that was hanging around my backyard with her fawn. Yesterday afternoon she showed up again with another fawn so it was a real treat to see her again although she was back in the trees so I couldn't get a good picture but this one of her behind a shed isn't too bad. Always nice to see critters that are a bit different from the norm. First picture is from last year and the 2nd. one with the shed roof was yesterday.

  5. During normal years this would be considered advertising on the site and discouraged. With what our business people such as yourself are going through now, advertise away. Nice looking place you have there. I've never stayed at a lodge but if I ever was I picture a place like yours. Luxury for us was a picnic table and indoor plumbing. One cabin on the Ottawa we rented for years starting mid 80's for years and we actually eventually purchased on crown land for 5 grand was $100.00 a week including a 12' tinny, no motor though. Good luck.

  6. Yes you are correct, but really Toronto area to Wawa is about 10 hour drive, but there are alternate highway options like hwy 144 that does cut off about 2 hours.

  7. Ain't that the damned truth. Sometimes for grins I will watch CNN, Fox and MSnbc for coverage on the same event and it is all over the board.

  8. Good luck Wayne Went to my place a couple weeks ago, took my son on his first ice fishing experience. Wasn't anything to brag about but it was nice to get out and do something.

  9. A friend wanted a lighthouse for her garden, I couldn't find anything that wasn't junk at a price I was willing to pay so I built her this one. It's 3/4" mahogany exterior grade water proof plywood so it should last for a few years. It turned out to be a bit of a challange because trying to cut a taper with a 30* angle so the hex all fit properly with hand tools working outside in the cold was harder than I thought. Anyway, it works, the light is solar powered and rotates and I just earned enough brownie points to last me for at least a year 😊

  11. Did the exact same thing last summer for the exact same reason, with the exact same motor! My advice is that if you are going to do this, start looking for your Terrova now, my local dealer told me June for availability on the Terrova. Started searching online from BC to Quebec and found a new one in Laval. That was it. Sold out, unavailable, backorder etc was a very common theme. Fortunately for me I was going to Quebec twice last week and was able to pick it up with no shipping costs.

  12. Nope - I am not training for a marathon or a boxing match - I am way to far gone for that On our first fly in trip I was a bit freaked out by the idea of "making weight" Coming in with the right amount of stuff, not forgetting something and having enough beer and stogies for the week Over the years our group has come up with our own system for making it work and I will say on our 2020 trip I never really thought about it. (Well I will say a small bead of sweat may have appeared when all of the beer hit the scales) https://www.northernjacks.com/post/the-weight Cheers Andrew

  13. Quick question guys. Currently the wife is looking to get rid of some channels through Bell as the bill is ridiculous. We do have the fire stick. I told her I don't care what channels she gets rid of as long as I get my Leafs and SportsCenter. Can she get rid of Bell altogether and get those two somewhere else? Thanks
