  1. Personal smallie is 7.5, Simcoe. Largest bucket 5.2 on Couch. I know perfectly well I could just go fish lake simcoe or Lake ontario and get one, but it would feel like cheating to me. CHEATING????????? Maybe you should enter the fall derbies and show how it,s done. BUT, NO CHEATING LOL

  2. Good Lord, has it been that long already. Glad to see that you're taking good care of it Buddy. She's definitely an old school build.

  3. It's been 10 years since SPIEL has tied up this fabulous Rain Shadow for me. Still going as strong as the day I picked it up. I'm thinking I've caught at least a dozen fish on it. 😉 Thanks SPIEL for your quality work and craftsmanship. Cheers!

  6. Gezz Ron that Spiel build is pristine, he'd smack me if I showed him my Spiel Perch rod, all you can see is slime and minnow scales on the handle.😀😂

  7. You must be going to Renmar. I like to fill my cans there. The one near Hagersville on the highway is good for convenience but it's a couple of cents more. I can line up the truck and boat for gas without moving....

  8. It just doesn’t have the same impact…no different than the guys down south all of their pb’s are double digits. I think it’s more about you want your PB to be on your home body of water. I want a 6 out of Georgian bay just because I’ve been fishing here 15 years and have yet to catch one. Been so close so many times too.

  10. Hi all, went camping for a couple nights at the beginning of this week at our local Provincial Park which is on a lake trout lake. I headed out two mornings in a row at the crack of dawn as it’s my experience that the fishing is better before 9am. First morning the trout were chasing and biting, the second morning out they would only chase. Both mornings produced some really nice walleye, something about walleye in trout lakes, they are tanks, difficult to find sometimes, but when you do find them it’s a blast! I finished both mornings with a few bass once the trout and walleye bite stopped around 9am, WeatherRadar was perfect, fishing was great and was back in time for breakfast.

  11. That's why I chose to build a place on my lake in Frontenac...Walleyes and Lake Trout in the same lake. Not common in inland lakes in Southern Ontario. The Bass, Pike, Whitefish, Burbot and Crappie are just a bonus...somethin's always bitin'...and I never get bored.. Now..if I could only sneak in some Musky, I'd save myself a trip to NW Ontario every autumn...and if one of the incoming creeks had a Steelhead run...oh my...lol

  12. My first concert at the tender age of 14. While my parents were visiting friends in London I heard the music and had to investigate. Over a fence with some others and lost track of time. Police were called for a missing country kid in the city. My dad told them where I would be but I got back on my own. Caught just wee bit of shyte for that one. Worth it.
